Creative, different, unique…these are just some traits that come to mind when you refer to MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA, the brand created by ANIEME (Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters) to represent on international markets and events the Spanish integrated furnishing and habitat offer. This year, after having displayed at the most important international exhibitions, such as IMM Cologne, Maison & Objet, the Stockholm Furniture Fait and I SALONI in Milan, MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA will be back to China bringing to Shanghai a group of 15 brands that will exhibit their latest collections and deco products at FURNITURE CHINA from the 11th to the 15th of September. The successful participation at the 2011 Furniture China edition and the increasing business opportunities offered by China – and by Shanghai itself as a main commercial hub - have convinced more Spanish companies to focus and strengthen their presence in this market. As a matter of fact, at the upcoming event, Spain will double its exhibitors, covering a total surface of 600 sqm in the International Brand Hall, in pavilion W1, just at the main entrance of the fairground. With stands lined up on three aisles – A, B, K-, Spanish companies will make a big impact for their attractive and versatile proposals for the home and contract sectors. Ranges will encompass from exclusive pieces of design and high-end classic collections to the most forward-thinking interior concepts, including an amazing array of objets d’art, paintings and hand-crafted frames. We invite you to join us on a tour throughout the hall that hosts our companies and to get a deeper insight into the latest trends of the Spanish furnishing industry. FURNITURE CHINA 2012 – Interview with Juan Carlos Muñoz Melero, President of ANIEME _______________________________________________________________ Could you pls give us a brief introduction about the Spanish furnishing industry and the development of Spain’s outstanding habitat brands? MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA, the brand created by ANIEME – the Spanish Association of Furniture Exporters-, has consolidated itself as a highly international brand, a fact that is confirmed by the increasing strong position of Spanish furniture in foreign markets and the ever greater number of countries to which Spain exports its products. The Spanish furnishing industry represents a very heterogeneous reality that combines the most refined handicraft tradition with cutting-edge manufacturing technology. That’s why at major events, Spanish furniture stands out not only for its high quality standards, but also for the stylish designs and the variety of an offer that is always catching up with new trends. The impressive ability to adapt to the demand of the moment and to different cultural contexts has led MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA to be one of the biggest names within the worldwide furnishing industry and one of the main suppliers of the contract sector. Both the Association and the companies are making a great effort to promote the Spanish furniture excellence and the brand MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA throughout the world.

Could you pls share some experience and further planning of brand building? MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA signifies passionate, elegant and cutting-edge collections that can be customized to meet every global-local taste. The use of high quality materials and state-of-the-art technology are the key of the success of Made in Spain high-fashion pieces created by big names of the Spanish design. Stronger commitments to ecological issues, which fortunately are getting more and more adepts over the latest years, have also been highly appreciated by purchasers of Spain’s products. One of the latest trends that we have observed in the Spanish habitat market is the suggestive blend of different styles, such as the art-deco with the most pure classical style. As a result, deco collections acquire an appealing look that can be used to add further drama to glamorous ambiences. On the other hand, different finishes, bold colours, less formal solutions and new materials have inspired new creative interior concepts.

MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA www.muebledeespana.com

Have the Spanish furniture industry been affected by the current economic situation of Europe? Have you transferred your focus to China market? European countries such as France, Portugal, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom are still the main destination markets for Spanish furniture exports. Speaking about non European countries, Morocco, United States, Russia and Mexico are strengthening their imports of Spanish furniture and decorative items products. But also some African markets, like Angola, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, and Asian countries, such as India and China, are increasing their purchases from Spain. As for China, Spanish furniture exports have grown fast over the latest years, revealing a strong interest of Chinese consumers for recognized brands and Spanish designers.
