Tripping the Light Fantastic... By Mark Sheehan Unleash your genius and become the architect of your evolution! Genius comes from the Latin word geni, a guardian spirit or natural ability. We focus on the meaning as it relates to genes, thinking that you got it in your birth package or not at all. The Romans believed it to be a guardian spirit assigned to you at birth that guided and protected you. In this great shift of consciousness, we all want freedom – to have, be and do more of what fulfills us. This begins in your imagination. Does that idea bring up fears? That’s only natural as we have fear baked into our DNA; we inherited it as part of ancient survival codes. Recently I had the opportunity to do eight Template ceremonies that connected critical biocircuits (some damaged through life, others turned off by malevolent forces) that claimed to activate dormant DNA. I definitely felt changed by that work. You can do the first ceremony online by going to TheTemplate.org and watching the Ceremony of Original Innocence. That will connect 12 critical biocircuits. More explanation is provided on the website. To paraphrase Richard Rudd’s amazing book, Gene Keys, you have 60 trillion cells, all organized to perform different functions and all working smoothly together because they are listening and responding. They are able to do that through antennae in the cell membrane that relay signals to the DNA in the nucleus of the cell, which then turn genes on and off. All of this is happening constantly in those trillions of cells! As a salt, DNA is an electrical conductor and thus responsive to elec-
tromagnetic waves. Just slight shifts in your moods trigger a response in your DNA. This may be hard to recognize in yourself, but you can easily see the way in which some people create their own bummers while others have found ‘the secret’ of laying their own yellow brick road. We h a v e no control over the storms raging around our solar system and this earth, but we can take more responsibility for the frequencies we broadcast. Bruce Lipton’s message in The Biology of Belief is that your genes hold the blueprint of your nature, but it is the environment you create through your feelings, words and thoughts that give expression to that blueprint—all done by the subtle electromagnetic vibes you generate! It’s no surprise that fear generates a low frequency and love a high frequency, each activating different codes in your DNA. You know how the lower frequencies bring you down when you are having a bad hair day? In the higher frequencies of your DNA, you are more sensitive to energy fields, your heart is nourished and your energy body glows as you radiate light and vitality. This attracts more positive people and forces to you, until you find
you are operating at a whole new level. The group consciousness of humanity is poised to take a quantum leap forward. The personal work that each of us does helps to advance the great work that will be essential for us in the coming decades. “It is this ability of DNA to weave light around itself that reveals its true hidden role within our body” says Rudd, “to act as a superconductor whose sole purpose is to exponentially increase the frequency passing in and out of your body.” He recommends that you consider your DNA “as a store of miracles waiting to happen.” These miracles are possible when we work with our own dynamic energies. In Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants in Human Behavior, David Hawkins brilliantly explains how the transformation of your personal consciousness affects others. He demonstrates how much one person’s higher level can sometimes affect thousands of others. For a comprehensive view of where we are heading, read Owen Water’s short book, The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness, which briefly but clearly outlines the spiritual and creative awakening of humanity. These next few years will be rocky; trust your DNA to pull you through. It helps to read inspiring books, but it is ultimately the work you do with your own electromagnetic energies that will transform your life. Let that genie out of your bottle! By Rev. Shelley St. John Adrianna Grace was my roommate in California 35 years ago and we shared a most special friendship full of fun, laughter, surprises, inspiration and support. We both moved to Maui in 1990. She trained me to be a colon therapist 13 years ago and we both were thrilled and surprised by how I became a Shamanic colon therapist and instructor. Whether we were on a cleanse or fast together, or walking at the beach and swimming, or shopping, we were always about living a peaceful, loving, healthy and joyful lifestyle. Adrianna loved Temple of Peace and was a big supporter in many ways. She did colontherapy here, decorated the rooms and grounds, and most importantly she believed in Kedar and Shelley and our vision. Even though Adrianna did so many things right, she got cancer a couple years back; the cancer went into remission after chemotherapy treatments and alternative therapies. In early April Adrianna went to the hospital. She was told she had acute leukemia, and would only live from a few days to a few months. I became one of the friends who supported her to let go and die peacefully and gracefully. A great team came together to support Adrianna to have a graceful death – a great nursing and medical staff at Maui Memorial, pain management, coconut water, massages, hugs, laughter, and phone calls full of love and support from around the world. She passed on in early May. She would want people to be inspired by her life. She had many friends who she listened to and counseled wisely and effortlessly. If you were lucky to meet her and have her in your life, then let the message of her life inspire you to go out and do deeds greater than what you’re already doing. Do volunteer work, give money to a charity, do prayer and meditation work, lift up yourself and humanity. Whether you knew her or not, let Adrianna’s life be an example of inspiration, education and empowerment.
Stores To Require GMO Transparency
By Vanessa Wolf In early March, Whole Foods Market, the supermarket chain best known for its beautiful displays and vast organic inventory, announced that it will “aim for full GMO transparency” within five years. By 2018, the Austin, Texas-based chain hopes to be able to identify and label all products in its U.S. and Canada stores that qualify as genetically modified organisms, or GMOs. One week later, Hawaii-based Down to Earth made a similar pledge. Whole Foods’ announcement is a game changer,” said Mark Fergusson, Down to Earth Chief Organic Officer. “We will monitor and review the situation and may move our implementation date earlier if that becomes possible.” Down to Earth, which has four stores on Oahu and one on Maui, currently does not sell single-ingredient GMO foods including papaya, corn, soy, canola or sugar. Both stores cited customers’ concerns as the major reason for the policy change. “GMOs pose health and environmental risks, and have resulted in increased herbicide use, growth of super-weeds, and loss of biodiversity. GMOs have led to increased control over the food supply by a handful of multinational companies and, simply put, are moving in the wrong direction,” said Fergusson in a statement. According to a recent poll conducted by Huffington Post and YouGov, 82 percent of Americans want GMO foods to be clearly labeled. Whole Foods President A.C. Gallo told The New York Times that some of its suppliers have “seen sales increases of 15 percent in foods they have labeled.” While opponents of the labeling initiative claim that GMO identification may lead to the false impression that GMO foods pose health risks, advocates claim that they have the potential for everything from creating new allergens to causing resistance to antibiotics in humans. Still, some argue that labeling is not enough, implying identification over elimination is more about pleasing investors and staying off corporate toes. Regardless, no one can argue that it is a step – however small – in the right direction.

Discovering The Dormant Genius Within You

I believe we each have a special form of genius within us that we are born with, but often this unique ability may lay dormant and undiscovered. In traditional school settings, much focus is given to academic achievement and physical prowess. The football star and the class valedictorian take the limelight at graduation, while the sensitive, creative artist and the caring, compassionate counselor are often ignored. There is little room for feelings, creative ideas or artistic expression. Students who do not fit into the mainstream idea of talent often feel inferior or inadequate, when in truth their special form of genius may be hidden and just waiting for expression. To demonstrate this point, let’s look at how I grew up. In high school I was the average younger sister of an older brother who tested very high on the IQ scale. My brother excelled in academia and his legacy haunted me as I navigated my way through school a few years after him. I remember how the teachers would smile as they read the new student roster; they would say, “Oh, is Charles Valliere your brother?” This inquiry was generally followed by, “He was an exceptional student. I’ll be expecting great things out of you.” Inside I would cringe, for I knew that my IQ was under 140 and I would never be able to match his achievements. It took me years of self-discovery to unearth my latent gifts that were ignored when I was in high
school because they did not fit society’s model of genius. Fast forwarding to my life now, I am an inspirational writer for three magazines, a psychic reader and teacher, and a radio show host. How did I discover and tap into these gifts, despite feeling inferior in high school? It happened slowly. In college, a psychology professor—an older woman with white hair, soft eyes and a warm smile—suggested that I keep a journal of my heart’s wisdom and fears. Thus began my

writing career. I began writing every day until I had filled boxes with journals. My ability as a psychic happened gradually too. I signed up to be a peer counselor, as I had always been the friend with a listening ear. I started doing radio by tuning into a favorite talk show for many years, followed by being a guest on that program. Being on several radio stations led me to host my own show. To improve my writing, psychic and radio skills, I attended classes and received mentoring from individuals who excelled in these areas. I practiced perfecting my skills. Master Your Destiny
By Aaron Pierson We each have the power to create our lives and the events in the world around us. When we open our hearts to the divine creative force in the universe, we can become masters of our own destiny and also have a positive impact on the world around us. It is important for us to let go of our selfish egos and work to shift the energy on the planet—to move it from the darkness we all see to a more compassionate world that we would gladly leave for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. We humans are in a very critical time. The planet, the universe, and all of creation are ready and waiting for us to surrender our hearts and souls to this divine creative force. This creative force is found in purity of truth, compassion, honor and integrity. These qualities have the potential to be revealed when we let go of our selfish desires and focus to create an environment of harmony and compassion for everyone who crosses our paths. I am speaking of an energy that has no limits as to what we can do or what we can create. It has no limits on the power to breathe life to all that is lost in the depths of chaos. As we create this energy of pure passion and compassion in our own lives, it overflows into the lives of those around us. It is not about creating material things in life. Honestly, this is very easy. It is about opening doors to bring healing to millions of souls around the world who are lost in the pain and misery of the material world. It is about helping people find the essence of compassion and creating platforms to share this healing with people, focusing on the hearts and souls of real people in real sorrow. Trust me. I have been one of those souls in deep sorrow and pain for many years. I found no one and no place that could really help me in my deepest pain and affliction. Think of the world we would live in if schools were opened worldwide to teach our children meditation and how to live a life of truth, honor, integrity and compassion beginning at a very young age. Imagine a world with healing centers around the world that actually had the power and energy to heal the broken bodies and conflicted hearts of people, as opposed to giving them drugs and radiation that kill their bodies. Imagine healing centers with overflowing compassion, love and energy to help people heal from the heart and essence of the soul. These are the creative forces we need to manifest around us! These are the pure creative forces we need to bring into the lives of each and every soul we come across! It is when we give up all of the restrictions and limitations the world has used to destroy our purity that we will truly see this kind of creative force manifesting around us to bring healing to our bodies, hearts, minds and souls. I know this creative energy is real and living, and that it will simply explode in overflowing compassion for each of us to see and experience. Resting In Peace, Stillness
By Andy Marcus I am finishing my travels in India and I am on my way back home to Maui. During my travels over the past several months, I have visited various holy places. I have also had the good fortune to meet many teachers and saints from various traditions, such as Mooji, Prem Baba, Siddhi Ma and Lama Wangdor Rinpoche. Though their approaches may differ, they all ultimately point to the same thing— to rest in natural great peace and stillness, one’s true nature. Transcending Tragedy
By Suzan Proia, C.Ht. Twelve years ago, my husband died in my arms. His death was the biggest personal tragedy of my life. Working through this loss has been one of my greatest challenges. Unfortunately, each of us will endure tragedies. They are interwoven into the fabric of our existence. When 9/11 exploded a few months later, our country dissolved into mourning, which eclipsed my grief. My sadness merged with the loss of so many others. I realized then that there will always be unfortunate incidents somewhere in the world—daily, hourly, and too often. How do we deal with the onslaught? How do we keep from going under and drowning in the dark aftermath of natural disasters and manmade horrors? The answer came to me after the Boston marathon bombing. I was born in Boston. I lived on the marathon route and attended the race annually. This spirited event connects the runners with the spectators, volunteers, police and emergency personnel. The camaraderie is tangible. Participants come from all over the world and all walks of life—diverse ethnicities, religions, ages, and levels of ability. The Boston marathon is an example of how life can work successfully and how we can support each other towards a common goal. My despair melted when I realized what the race represents, and that people would unite to conquer the negativity of the terrorism. Tragedy instills fear. Fear is one result of giving away our personal power to an individual(s), an event or a thing. When we release fear and reclaim our power and strength, we can move forward and make a positive impact by helping ourselves and others. We transcend tragedy by embracing the positive. What Is Spirit Release Therapy And Depossession? By Devin Grace So what is this controversial approach to helping others, and what are earthbound spirits? Dark forces? Extraterrestrials? This is the stuff that movies are made of; these are generally not things we want to talk about as real, or even worse, something that has an effect on us personally. Yet for centuries, every society in our world has adopted a form of therapy to work with these forces that are attached to or affecting their community’s members. After much study and research, those of us who specialize in this area of therapy have found the following. Earthbound spirits are those who have not continued on in their evolutionary path. That is, they have not gone to the afterlife where we, as spirits, go to rest, educate ourselves on the lessons we have learned, and heal and rest from the difficult experience of being a student in the human classroom. When spirits decide not to go to the afterlife, it is because they are convinced they should stay in the world – even without a body – because they are disoriented, addicted, in love, or feeling guilty and afraid they don’t belong in the light. Not going to the afterlife leaves them with little choice but to wander the world looking for a way to “live.” This usually means they will find a human host. Dark forces are spirits that at one time had a human incarnation, but died in such a way that left them angry. They reject the light and any love that they might have believed in at one time. Many of these forces have joined together and
formed a larger community of the dark ones. As frightening as this may sound, I have never met a dark force spirit that has not chosen to release to the light with incredible gratitude and gentleness when offered the opportunity and the pathway. As for extraterrestrials, what I am finding is that they do exist and they are here on earth
performing experiments on human subjects. They are quite harmless and very curious. They are like scientists who do not really see or care about the effects they have on their subjects; they simply want to conduct their research and get their results. I communicate with these beings quite often and find that many of the “implants” they once used on humans are malfunctioning. My work and theirs is to remove these implants so that no future harm is caused to the human subjects. So how does spirit release help with the release of these beings and implants? Where’s Waldo?
By Tomas Heartfield Who’s Waldo? Oh, he’s my inner genius. And I want to introduce you to yours. You have one, you know. Or maybe you don’t know. I only became aware of mine recently. As I look back, I see he’s been there all along. Finally he has ‘come out’ and I’m having a blast. Now my passion is to bring out all of those geniuses around me. Just imagine what we could do getting all of our geniuses together. First, we have to acknowledge them so they can openly come out. Just for a moment, get still, chill out and tune in. Now take a nice, slow, juicy breath, and notice what is alive in you right now. What do you notice as your inner awareness gives you feedback? Can you feel your body? What is it saying? Can you feel your energy, your vitality? What is your emotional frequency? What thoughts are streaming through your mind? Can you make contact with your intuition? Can you hear your heart’s longing? These sources of information are keys to your total self. As you focus on these information vortexes within you, new awareness and insight streams in. But awareness by itself is useless without connection to your aliveness, or your “juice.” When you feel what your heart desires, and you move toward that, your inner genius gets very excited and shows you possibilities you never saw before. Time To Wake Up! By Jonathan Yudis We are writing our own script. We are all forgiven. Now the question arises: are we ready and willing to forgive ourselves? Which path will we tread? Will we choose to walk towards the nurse’s station and complacently take our proverbial sleeping pills? Will we continue to listen to an unspoken, unconscious, fear-based, media-induced control system which perpetuates a dominance-based, power-obsessed mentality and militaristic “kill or be killed…the earth is ours to exploit” perspective? Will we collectively and voluntarily choose a path that encroaches upon our infinite freedom and potential? The abstracts described above translate into very tangible contrasts in our society such as: witnessing continuous gun violence and mass shootings playing out before our eyes while allowing and promoting the proliferation of easy access to automatic weapons and lack of gun control; living through ecologically devastating nuclear and oil disasters while allowing and promoting continued drilling and energy dependence on unsustainable sources; remaining silent while money, big business and corporate interests clearly own and control our supposedly democratic political system; the senseless polluting of our oceans and destruction of ocean life and cetaceans; the
unquestioned or unchallenged spraying of chem trails; the proliferation of genetically modified foods and control over seeds and agriculture. The list goes on and on. Why choose sleeping pills when we can just as easily wake up, right now. We can wake up to a world of unrecognized, awesome beauty and grace. We can wake up to a new humanity ripe with unimaginable potential. We can choose the one option that has been within, around, and before us all along: Love.
Love ourselves. Love our ohana. Love our neighbors. Love our community. Love our planet. And ultimately, Love our enemies as ourselves. These abstracts can also translate into tangible change: utilizing our gifts and collectively healing together, and returning to our roots in compassion, collaboration and contribution. The true power of our technology lies in the essence of our humanity. If you want to make the words on this page more real, right now, then go outside or open a window and take a deep breath, look up into the sky and see and feel the light rays from the sun penetrate into your system. This breath is real. This light is real. We are this light. Just as pure and just as free. It shines upon each of us equally, reminding us in every moment who we are, where we come from, and where we are going. Even in the midst of the darkest night, light from inconceivably distant stars shines through. As we open ourselves to receive it, the choice is already made. Shine on! It is your nature. As a child you created amazing things out of cardboard boxes and your imagination. You made up stories and games and the rules to go along with them. And then you changed them because you could and it was more fun that way. You played for play’s sake. You remember. When adults would ask, What do you want to be when you grow up? Finding Joy In Three Stages By Paul O’Brien In the last issue of Maui Vision Magazine I introduced the idea of dividing life into three stages and we looked at Stage One of Self-Discovery and Training. According to the Visionary Decision Making system, this is the time to discover and develop your natural talents – to learn who you are, what you’re good at and what you like to do. The best method of self-discovery is to apply yourself to whatever you find really fascinating – even if that means switching majors or jobs or, on the social side, dating different kinds of people. Other than the value of the skills acquired, in Stage One we experience the joys of learning (joys that are never left behind in a life well-lived). Stage Two, which begins around age 30 (approximate timing of our first astrological “Saturn

Return”), is the Productivity-Accomplishment stage. This period is about putting to use those primary talents discovered in Stage One. The focus is now on applying yourself to doing what you have discovered you like to do and what you are good at (usually the same). This focus on doing calls forth a sense of personal mission and a desire to make commitments. Self-discovery is always exciting and fun, but there is even greater joy to be experienced in developing your natural talents and artfully, in your own way, contributing something of value. Although this can begin earlier, it is during Stage Two that we focus on doing our best to provide for ourselves and others, including possibly a partner and children (and eventually grandchildren). This period embraces work. We may compete in some marketplace, raise a healthy and well-educated family, or perhaps both. We work hard and take pride in becoming an active, contributing member of society.
Stage Three is a spiritually-oriented phase I call “Patronage.” It begins around one’s second Saturn Return near the beginning of a person’s 60s. It involves making a paradigm shift from producing and accumulating to giving back – as teacher, sponsor and adviser. This stage is inspired by the idea of helping future generations and is characterized by generosity and unconditional love. You may find yourself helping younger people with their Stage One and Stage Two decision-making – providing guidance and other support, perhaps even financial. The joy of Stage Three, which comes from unconditional giving, is the greatest of all. Each of the three stages builds on what came before. It’s not as if discovery stops at age 30 or that you have to wait until you retire in order to mentor someone. Dividing life into three stages is only meant to highlight the timing of certain qualities in an evolving human life. Each stage features a different set of priorities and its own type of joy. In Stage One, decisions involve what to learn next, and there is the joy of discovery and the satisfaction of curiosity. In Stage Two, our decisions are more practical, supporting the joy of accomplishing and providing for oneself and others. In Stage Three, our decisions flow from our heart and ours is the ultimate joy of generous support and unconditional love. Knowing where you are in the trajectory of your life can help you make better decisions and feel the joys of self-confidence and fulfillment at any age! Genius, Our Guardian Spirit
By Nancy Friedrich Did you know that the word genius is connected to shamanism? In shamanic healing practices the healer intentionally shifts his or her consciousness to be in relationship with compassionate spirits for the purpose of healing or divination. In some cultures the helping spirit is called a tutelary spirit, which means a guardian spirit. Guardian spirits are often in the form of a power animal, a teacher in human form, an ancestor, or a deity. The Latin origin of the word genius is tutelary spirit. The word tutelary refers to a guardian, or “tutelary power as the power of a deity.” The first definition of genius is “an attendant spirit of a person or place.” The plural of genius is genii, which is defined as “spirit, or genii, one of a class of spirits.” I recall the Arabian lantern story of the genii, a magic spirit that takes human form and serves the person who calls it, often performing supernatural powers. Embedded in words we find the deeper or original meaning of things. The fifth definition of genius is “a person endowed with transcendent mental superiority, or a single strong marked capacity or aptitude.” This brings me to the idea of the muse that throughout time has been called upon by poets, writers, sculptors and painters to support their creative efforts. The Greek muses preside over song, arts, sciences, astronomy, memory, poetry and history. I bring this forward because as humans, we are able to shift our consciousness and connect with our tutelary spirit helpers. Genius is available to help us solve our problems and enhance our creativity in whatever endeavors we choose. In the quiet moments it is easier to hear, see and feel what is just below the surface of the busyness of life. Starting your day with a sitting practice can be very helpful to experience more clarity and relaxation throughout the day. During the day it can be very helpful to take a moment to stop, breathe and connect with yourself. Feel the earth under your feet, look at the beautiful landscape and drink it in. You are that landscape and that landscape is you. Awareness, presence, and breath reveal genius. Let it fly! The Rise Of The Divine Feminine
By Salini Teri Apodaca For at least 10,000 years, people lived peacefully in matriarchal cultures, sharing harmony and balance, and co-existing respectfully with nature. Religious practices involved worshipping the sacred hoop, creation and nature. These cultures were free of war, famine and poverty. Women leaders practiced fair stewardship that kept life in balance. Men respected the Mother energy. And something else they shared…everyone believed God was a woman. All life energy is either yin (female) or yang (male). Life cannot exist without balance. Earth must remain energetically balanced to survive. But energy shifted with the appearance of patriarchal cultures. The change came with agriculture and land ownership. To till land and create business, men seized control from women. They kept slaves, fought wars and subjugated women. As the profit motive replaced communal needs, an energetic imbalance arose. Industrialized communities developed, and then the technological age, bringing us to the brink of global destruction. It’s time to return to matriarchal leadership and restore balance. With the divine feminine leading, war and genocide will fade and concern for collective needs will return. Matriarchal beliefs are circular; all life is respected. Men raised with these beliefs also choose to nurture life. Polynesian cultures are matriarchal. Hawaiians worship nature and the Goddess Pele. Mothers are revered. Ancient rites to honor them continue today. Hawaiians knew that women’s ability to create was essential to survival. Earth was their Mother and must be protected. Indigenous creation stories always begin with women. The only culture with a male creation story is white culture. And it is profoundly out of balance. Mother Earth wants her planet back. Life On This Magical Island

Hologazing Mudras For Healing

The Evolution Of Genius
By Ginny Ross In esoteric studies we learn about the seven levels or planes of consciousness, which define the strata of an individual’s state of intelligence and integration. The quality of one’s conscious awareness can be defined by the highest level of the seven planes upon which that individual is capable of functioning. These levels of perception range from the lowest, physicaletheric upward to the emotional, lower and higher mental, intuitional, the level of Spirit and the Divine. Na’auao – Innate Intelligence
By Jeana Iwalani Naluai Have you ever dreamt that you were flying, or heard someone speak about astral travel? What if you were able to be in two places at once? Are you only using a fraction of your potential? Here is a true story to inspire you. My Aunty was sitting in her Wailuku apartment when she received a mournful phone call from her son reporting that her grandson had been in a fatal accident. The car plummeted off a cliff and was teetering on a jagged Oregon rock face. Aunty immediately breathed into a deep meditative state. In her mind’s eye, she could see the car on the cliffside. As she peered deeper, she saw her grandson pinned between the vehicle and the crag. Her heart filled with gratitude to find her grandson alive, although in critical condition. Feeling urgency and alarm, she phoned her son to tell him of her vision and to let the rescue team know to proceed carefully. Thankfully, the mission was successful. The boy awoke in the intensive care unit to find his father waiting at his side. The first question the boy asked was, “Where is Tutu?” His father replied that Tutu was in Hawaii. With a puzzled look on his face the boy responded, “But I saw her, she was there! We move into a Sagittarius rising chart, where the ruling planet of that sign is merged with the Sun in the house of relationships. Emotional Intelligence

Debbie Dehm Did you know there is such a thing as “emotional intelligence,” which is measured by how well you handle your feelings, whether you can identify what you are feeling, amongst other things? As a matchmaker, I have been thinking about this lately as I try to help people find true love. When someone falls in love, how intelligent do they seem? We have sayings that reflect how people lose all sense of reason when they fall in love, such as “head over heels” and “swept off their feet.” So how much emotional intelligence is involved in love? How many people fall in love with the same type of person over and over again, just to be crushed when things don’t work out? When people fall in love, they sometimes ignore their better judgment, friends’ advice, and any warning signs; they plunge in anyway. When this happens, it is more about the person being stuck in a repetitive pattern than it is about true love. How do we break free of these patterns if we cannot see them for ourselves? We can talk to our friends or professionals before we repeat destructive patterns. Does falling in love with someone mean that they are your perfect match as a life partner? In my opinion, the answer is no. Many people can find love easily, but are they finding someone with whom they can have deep intimacy? Can you see yourself growing old with this person and still feeling the same way about them many years down the line? Many people are very superficial in their search for love. I challenge them to look past a person’s appearance and try to make a heart connection. By Lynda Wright Following your dreams is one of the best ways to release your innate creative genius. Making a vision board utilizing your intuition will help you manifest your deepest desires in life.
Five Steps to Make Your Own Vision Board: 1) Gather all your materials together, including magazines, greeting cards, glue, scissors, and a poster board or construction paper in your favorite color. Artistic talent isn’t required. Just give your imagination free expression without censoring, and in a couple of hours you can easily put your dreams into visual form. A dream map can also be made small enough to fit into a notebook or personal journal, or it could be used as a screen saver. 2) Cut out pictures on the poster board that illustrate your goals, dreams and visions. It could also include a photo of yourself that you like. 3) Include words that express your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual goals. Consider using a paintbrush or pen for a more personalized touch. 4) Write an intention or affirmation such as, “This or something better now manifests with good for all concerned.” This statement allows for improvements to be made to your original plan in case something better happens which you haven’t thought of yet. 5) Put your completed vision board where you can easily see it every day. Want To Unleash Your Genius?
By SuniRae Lemke Here’s how. Goof off! That’s right, take a break. Give yourself permission to just do nothing. Keep a recorder or notepad beside you at all times. In my experience, creative ideas can come so fast that I have to stop in the middle of whatever I’m doing to write them down; otherwise they may be gone forever. I recently learned about a new religion called Dudeism. The foundation of Dudeism is that the universe wants us to take it easy. Every good thing we’ve ever dreamt of will come more easily when we are in an open, receptive, chilled out space. Many times in my life I have created amazing situations that were better than I could have imagined, simply by ‘letting go’ after some basic, focused daydreaming. Here’s my process, which you can try: 1. Write down what you want as if you’re already living it. Use all of your senses to make it rich and full of feeling. 2. Record your voice speaking the story. 3. Listen to the recording daily while in a relaxed and open state. 4. Speak to no one, especially yourself, about not living the desire. 5. Go about your day as if all is well in every way. 6. Stay plugged in to people who are happy creators. The key is to do whatever it takes to create a joyful state. Deciding to see the ‘silver lining,’ regardless of how things may seem, is a great tool for thriving versus merely surviving. Lastly, I have experienced real breakthroughs by training myself to do one thing at a time (not multitask) and to be fully in the moment. Vog On Maui Solution
By Lavenda Schaff We have experienced a lot of vog in recent months as a result of the steamy, toxic fumes from the Kilauea volcano on the Big Island that creep in with the Kona winds, creating a grey blanket between us and the blue sky. A scratchy throat, painful lungs, allergy attacks or flu symptoms signal a decrease in our immune system due to exposure to these natural toxins in the air. But we don’t need to feel victimized by the vog, which is Mama Pele’s expression of life. Besides reducing stress and strengthening our immune systems, there are several remedies that specifically bring relief to vog symptoms. I would like to point out the benefits of essential oils. When harvested and distilled with highest integrity, essential oils can be very potent remedies and bring instant results. These days there are many companies producing beautiful oils with various scents. However, only pure 100 percent organic essential oils, without pesticides and synthetics, can be really efficient and effective in relieving symptoms from vog. The company DoTerra is one of the few companies in the world providing such pure essential oils. My favorite oil is a blend called “On Guard,” consisting of various oils like cinnamon, clove and wild orange. Once I notice a scratchy throat coming on, I apply one drop on my chest by my thymus gland, on the spine and on the soles of my feet, which supports good health for my whole system. Using Trance To Unlock Genius
By Heather Gangnier Mozart and Edison are two great minds who have made notable contributions to society through the ages. They may even be considered geniuses in their own right. These two men had something in common. They used the trance to receive creative insight and to solve problems. Each had his own unique method. Mozart, for instance, took long carriage rides wherein he would fall into a hypnotic dream and hear the notes of his musical arrangements playing in his head. He then wrote out what he heard. It is said that the entire score of Cosi Fan Tutte was composed in this manner. Edison’s method was different. He is said to have kept a couch in his lab on which he would lay himself down whenever he got stuck working. He placed metal balls in his hand and set a bowl on the floor below. He would ask his higher mind questions about what he was working on, and then allow himself to drift off into a trance; from there he could more easily receive the answers he sought. If he began to fall asleep, his hand relaxed enough to let the metal balls go; the balls would fall into the bowl below, bringing him fully back. I am sure many other geniuses employ similar methods. The trance can be utilized in many wonderful ways. So if you want to unlock your inner genius, the use of a trance state may provide you with the creative edge you are seeking. When a person is in a trance, the chatter of the conscious mind is bypassed and a clear channel is opened for insight and information to be received. This is a highly focused state of mind from which genius can easily be unleashed. These words came to me during one of my morning meditations. This is my time to be still, reflect, and connect with the universe. In October of 2012 I began to write poetry as a way of working through some significant challenges, pain, and grief in my life. Many of the poems I wrote came to me during, or sometimes after, these meditations. I also found that after writing or reading poetry, my mind would be clearer and I could more easily tap into my creative genius towards current and future projects. In Kim Rosen’s book Saved by a Poem, she states, “Poetry is the language of the soul. From below the surface of your life, the truth of who you are calls to you through the poems you love. Even if you have been moved by only one poem….to take it deeply into your life….brings every level of who you are…into alignment with what matters most to you. You are receiving and giving voice not only to the poem, but also to your own soul.” Recently, one of the first poems I wrote on my healing journey was published in a compilation entitled Messages of Peace. My wish is that more people will find healing through poetry in their own lives. Maui Kosher Cooking
Review By Vanessa Wolf Maui Kosher, written by island resident Danit Schusterman, might have been more aptly entitled “Quick Kosher” or “Kosher Made Easy” to broaden audience appeal. And, although the recipes include ingredients found on the islands, such as Maui onions, ahi tuna, and Molokai sweet potatoes, the book is more about keeping kosher on the fly than making local-style dishes. That’s not a bad thing. There are plenty of cookbooks with excellent saimin, poke, or house cake noodle recipes; it’s simply that the designation is a little misleading if one is anticipating Hawaii-style food. That stated, the cookbook offers 135 simple recipes (often just three or four ingredients) for everything from appetizers to main dishes and desserts. Most of the recipes rely heavily on canned, frozen or pre-made items, no doubt to speed up prep time and simplify processes. The recipes are uncomplicated and easy for anyone to follow. “Albacore Tuna Pate,” for instance, contains canned tuna, mayonnaise, and a chopped scallion that you quickly mix in a blender. The book offers a well-organized index and beautiful pictures of each dish. Recipes are conveniently identified as “simple,” “easy,” and “very easy,” with serving sizes, prep times, and cook times noted. Each recipe contains a tiny sidebar, usually containing an expanded description of an ingredient or tips on where to source vegetables locally. Occasionally there is interesting information about kosher rules and requirements. For instance, because crabs are not kosher, it points out that imitation crabmeat is used instead. Individuals interested in keeping kosher or learning more about Jewish customs would likely find these elements the most compelling. The most appealing recipes are the most traditional. The recipe for Chicken Soup with Matzah Balls comprises two pages and is one of the few that doesn’t rely on canned or pre-made additions. By Chef Cindi Nand This is a light and fluffy coffee cake that I first developed for Circle of the Sun Café in 1988. First make your topping: In a bowl combine: 1 c brown sugar 1/2 c flour 1/2 c melted butter 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp cinnamon 3/4 c chopped walnuts or pecans Mush it all together so it’s spreadable. Cake batter for 8x11 baking dish Mix the dry ingredients together: 3 c flour – I use organic spelt flour 1 c sugar 1 Tbs baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon Mix the wet ingredients together: 3/4 c melted butter 2 eggs 1 1/2 c milk 2 tsp vanilla
Mix the wet and dry ingredients thoroughly until the batter color lightens, 1-2 minutes. Evenly sprinkle the topping over it. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins. Do not over bake. True Rhythm Of Health
By Douglas Price, D.C. Rhythm is a pattern or wavelength that represents the flow of life. When the human body adapts to that rhythm, our lives flow freely as nature intended. When the rhythm is altered by an unanticipated event, the body is impacted in three primary ways. The first type of impact is on our structure, including our bones, ligaments, tendons, etc. This is where chiropractic and massage can be helpful treatments. The second way the body is impacted is electromagnetic, for which acupuncture meridians, emotional freedom technique, and other similar modalities can be helpful. The third type of impact is biochemical, for which nutritional supplements, diet and fasting can be helpful. These are all good alternative health care methods, but none of them directly address the rhythm that has been altered. There are two triads. The first triad is about adaptation in structure, electromagnetic and biochemical. The true power that flows in all of us is in the second triad – psyche, brain and body – which is about nature’s inherent rhythm. According to German New Medicine, almost all diseases are caused by unanticipated events that alter equilibrium expressed throughout the nervous system, resulting in altered intensity of tone and function in the body. If left unresolved, these triggers can manifest as cancer, multiple sclerosis and other diseases. When you work on the body in a diseased state, you will need to restore its original expression by releasing the conflict that is expressed in the diseased state. We need to restore it to its normal rhythm, which has been altered by an unanticipated emotional trauma that is imprinted on the soul for survival and will create warning sensors by the brain. Embracing Paradox
By Apollo Grace In shamanic astrology, many of the qualities of genius are found in the sign of Gemini. Gemini is associated with the “fool” card in the Tarot—not in the sense of foolishness, but in the sense of having wit, of being able to express things in new ways that surprise and delight us. It also represents the shape-shifter, of being able to occupy new perspectives and bring forward new qualities. The constellation of Gemini is associated with the twins, but conceptually we see this as being able to hold dualities, being able to embrace both sides of a paradox without any need to choose one truth over another. This ability to embrace both sides of a paradox is a key quality of the great leaps forward in human consciousness in this time. In physics, it was genius to accept that the basic elements of matter and energy are not just particles or waves, but both. Many of the deeper truths of spirituality are nothing but paradox—we are one, and yet we are each unique and irreplaceable; everything is absolutely perfect as it is, and yet it is right to strive for a better world. Jupiter is transiting the latter degrees of Gemini this spring, from 10 degrees at the Spring Equinox all the way to the end shortly after the Summer Solstice. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and new possibility, activating Gemini qualities for all of humanity and lighting up any personal chart elements (Rising, Mars, Venus, Moon, Sun) that we individually have in Gemini. Dance Your Genius
By Kumu Karyne Daniels When we dance devotedly to God, we are giving ourselves a spiritual tune-up by activating our inner genius to its highest capacity, which can prompt a physical healing, ward off darkness and depression, stir up your stagnate energy, prompt revelations, and more! Ahhh, doesn’t that sound good? Here is a dance to unlock and breathe life into your inner genius: Pick an upbeat song that you love and that inspires you. (Suggestion: This Lil’ Light Of Mine by Faith Rivera). Be in a space or location all by yourself, with no distractions. Wear your favorite colors and dance clothing. Before entering into the dance, pause to pray and thank God for this opportunity to commune with His Spirit through dance. Turn on the music, close your eyes, and move. Sing if you must, but keep your body in motion by using your own free form expression—for example, anything that will ignite your pulse rate (bouncing, shaking, reaching rhythmically, jumping, running in place, or side stepping to the beat). As you dance, keep breathing deeply to cleanse and detoxify your insides (in through your nose, out through your mouth). In your mind, while dancing and breathing, speak affirmatively, “the genius inside me is a gift from God and I share it freely.” Repeat as many times as needed. When your session is complete, thank God for communing with you through the art of dance. Now, go make a smoothie. As you move about your day, feel your reignited genius dancing all around you, spilling into the atmosphere and onto those you interact with today. You were born to move to the beat of the universe! Genius Of The Heart
By Christophe Javon The secret has always been out in the open. That is the preciousness of your own being, the pearl within your heart. Awakening does not belong to any religion or spiritual tradition. To awaken is to suddenly see who you always were—the most radiant, passionate and alive embodiment of your spiritual essence as experienced deeply within your feeling heart. All paths begin and end at the same place—within your own self. Give yourself permission to shine. Who else is going to do it? As the light of your consciousness shines from your radiant heart, you decide how far it goes and when it coalesces into experience, in very much the same way that particles shower into existence inside the vacuum chambers of a particle accelerator. The expanse of your awareness defines the limits of your current reality. As your heart finds its own answers and reawakens to its unlimited nature, your life transforms.
