SHAKA Movement Shakes Things Up! By Mark Sheehan “I support agriculture until it’s proven unsafe.” —Maui Mayor Alan Arakawao I’ve been asked to explain the SHAKA Movement. It stands for “Sustainable Hawaiian Agriculture for the Keiki and the Aina.” The bottom line: It’s about preserving paradise for future generations by reclaiming, restoring and revitalizing depleted soil, and growing healthy foods without a dependence on chemicals. The current pressing issue is the revolt of the masses against the continuous poisoning of our soil, waters and air, and all the creatures that depend on them for life. It seems the field workers have been reading the warning labels of chemicals they spray on the HC&S fields, and the Monsanto workers are doing the same. There are growing health concerns in the Filipino community, which comprises many of the field workers. As recently as 2009, HC&S was using these pesticides—some of them known carcinogens—on sugar fields: atrazine, triazine, 2,4-D (relative of agent orange), asulam, diuron, ametryn, triclopyr, oxyflurofen, metribuzin, dicamba, propiconazol, hexazinone, and these glyphosate brands—Aqua Master aka Rodeo, Polado and Roundup Weather Max. Hawaiian environmental and cultural activists are incensed that the precious lands they love and feel called to preserve have been degraded and contaminated by decades of unconscionable AG. (“They get the profits, we get the pollution–forever!”) They have demonstrated against Kamehameha School leasing lands to Monsanto. Learn more at HawaiiGMOJustice.org. Then there is “Molokai Moms on a Mission.” Mothers from Kauai to Molokai are both terrified and livid that their children are subject to the ill winds of biotech experiments. Prenatal exposure to pesticides accounts for reduced birth weight, allergies, asthma and lower IQ. The Biotech companies on Kauai plant crops right up to the schoolyard fence! Moms in Kihei claim they can smell the pesti-
cides blowing from the Monsanto fields just mauka. Maui County’s organic farmers are justifiably concerned that drift from Monsanto’s field will contaminate their crops. While the Maui Farmers Union United prefers to work on positive outcomes, the intense use of chemicals by Monsanto poses an increasing risk to these farmers’ health and livelihood. Visit www. Under “Facts” there is a list of restricted use pesticides. Our County Council members have been hearing from members of the public, who are asking that the County take more responsibility for our health. It is well known that one Council member, Elle Cochran, is very concerned. Now that Hawaii County has approved a ban on introducing GMOs to Big Island, and Kauai has passed a bill requiring buffer zones around schools, parks and residential areas, Mayor Arakawa has negotiated a disclosure agreement with Monsanto. Nice going, Mayor. But, is disclosure enough? At a state water conference at Makena earlier this month, water experts confirmed that pesticides are
getting into wells and aquifers. Then, on November 13th Dr. Lorrin Pang, District Health Officer for Maui County (speaking as a private citizen), told a standing room only crowd about horizontal gene transfer and other very risky conditions created when experiments are conducted in the open air on unsuspecting and unwilling neighbors. He demolished Monsanto’s argument that they have all the science and the public is unnecessarily alarmed. Dr. Pang cited the ‘precautionary principle’ which requires proof of safety before use on the public. Even though Hawaii has a ‘Public Trust Doctrine’ that supposedly safeguards the environment and public health, rogue corporations have used deadly chemicals for decades with little concern and no consequences for what happens when they are combined, blow in the wind, or get into the drinking water. Some would consider this dangerous, and even criminal, behavior. Despite Mayor Arakawa’s foresight to head off legislation, the SHAKA Movement energy will move forward to gather public support for a moratorium on the use of RUPs and GMOs until they are proven safe for use outdoors. We can expect the issue to come up at the state level where our Governor is on record claiming “Hawaii’s future is in seeds.” Monsanto has been tilling the political soil with generous donations—$81,000 so far—to the governors’ campaign and to those of key Hawaii legislators. Don’t be surprised if biotech’s lackeys in the legislature submit bills to overturn the counties’ best efforts. Can you smell that bubble gum scent Monsanto uses to mask the stink from their poisons? Miracles Abound!
“I am realistic – I expect miracles.” - Wayne Dyer Yes, tumors do disappear. Anita Moorjani’s tumors did in 2006. In 2007, I also had a tumor that disappeared, as if by a miracle. At the last possible moment, lives are saved. News accounts regularly report people who are pronounced dead and then come back to life. Two people recently recovered unexpectedly: the first after 17 hours of no neurological functions or brain waves, and the second after 30 minutes of no pulse or heartbeat. Caught up in our scientific and logical thinking, we often forget that along with the physical realm of time and space, we also live on a magical and mystical planet, where miracles can and do happen. One of my teachers, Terry Cole-Whittaker, said that things can change and heal completely in a Holy Instant. Of course, miracles sometimes take a little longer! When we remove our mental inhibitors that keep us disconnected from the divine, and tune in, we can experience the limitlessness and the infinite possibilities of the universe. State Says No Radiation Threat To Hawaii By Vanessa Wolf The ongoing leak of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant raises obvious and substantial concerns for residents of Japan, but does it pose a health threat to the Hawaiian Islands? The Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH) officially says no. The HDOH regularly monitors the results of the water quality surveys performed by the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and reports that they “do not anticipate any public health effect on beachgoers or on seafood safety around the Hawaiian Islands.” They attribute this conclusion to a variety of factors, chiefly that water acts as a diluent and the radioactive water released into the sea near the Fukushima site “rapidly dilutes and disperses to negligible levels” once it mixes with the immense Pacific Ocean. In addition, some radioactive isotopes quickly decay: the half life of Iodine-131 (I-131) is roughly eight days, meaning the activity level reduces by half every eight days. “Given the length of time since the event, the short-lived radionuclides would have decayed to nearbackground levels and therefore pose no health hazard,” reports the HDOH. Similarly, they have been consulting with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on seafood safety; they do not anticipate contamination of living marine resources in U.S. waters. “Although Cesium isotopes have longer half-lives (Cs-134 has a half-life of about two years, Cs-137 a longer half-life of about 30 years) than Iodine, the radionuclides also undergo biological excretion and do not continue to build up in fish,” the HDOH explains. Meanwhile, the HDOH performs monthly shoreline surveillance specifically for Japan Tsunami Marine Debris (JTMD). Results of the most recent surveys were consistent with normal background levels found before the Fukushima incident. Moreover, federal and state scientists agree that the likelihood of radioactive debris is very low, largely because most of it originated far from the reactor and washed out to sea weeks before the leak developed.

Remove Your Filters To Witness Miracles! By Liah Howard Miracles happen when we remove our filters to seeing the profound perfection of the universe. Shedding these old ways of viewing life can happen suddenly, as in a near death experience or kundalini awakening. Or, the veils can be lifted gradually over time as the individual embodies more of his or her soul’s wisdom. Miracles were once thought to be the domain of holy people or saints; now, each of us can witness and manifest miracles in our everyday lives. This happens when we tune in to subtle energies like harmony, love and synchronicity. These frequencies usher miracles into our lives, homes and hearts. When we are expressing ourselves in accordance with our soul’s purpose, we become conduits for miracles to occur simply because we are aligned with them. We move out of lack, limitation and struggle, and instead are rewarded with having lives that are guided, blessed and serene. How does one transition from seeing life through the filters of the past, where loss, pain and disappointment dwell, and instead live in the precious present moment where miracles reside? The first step is to truly desire freedom. The path of the spiritual warrior is marked by a willingness to seek the light no matter what life brings. There must be a commitment to cultivate acceptance, faith and hope. These qualities, along with courage, honesty and compassion, give one the fortitude to stay the course even when the going gets rough, for life is sure to bring some obstacles on our paths. Next we cultivate gratitude. By counting our blessings and
seeing the beauty around us, we reenter the present moment, leaving our woes behind. Practicing positivity in the midst of troubles can strengthen our belief that there is a divine order that is working itself out, even if we can’t presently perceive it. We learn to let go and trust. Sometimes that is the greatest miracle there is. Next we learn to accept that we are not victims of life, but rather co-creators with life. We must be willing to honestly look at our weakest aspects and take responsibility for our part in our

circumstances, instead of blaming them on the universe. I remember when I changed my prayers from “help me please to have what I want” to “help me to see my life’s circumstances through my soul’s wisdom.” Lifting the veil from my old pattern of thinking and seeing my life’s circumstances in a new way has changed my whole life. Rather than see things from a self-centered “poor me” mentality, I now say “I am a blessed unique part of a greater good that is unfolding exactly as it should and I am grateful.” Sometimes in life we lose faith in a divine source and struggle like a hiker in quicksand, fighting to get out yet going ever deeper into the darkness of despair. This fighting can happen with fears related to health, finances, relationship, work and disillusionment on our spiritual path. We forget we want to be free, peaceful and happy, and instead we try to defend our perceived limitations, lack and struggles, which holds those filters in place. The Supreme Yoga Of Rest
By Eli Jaxon-Bear Once you have done all that you can do—gathered all of your intention and resources to the one burning issue of freedom; left all concepts and what you thought you knew behind; given up your control, contraction, and defense; faced the terror of death and invited everything to come in—then your job is finished. You can rest. Rest is the supreme yoga. The ego misunderstands and abuses the idea of rest by thinking of it as laziness or a loss of focus. Rest is not laziness. Rest is clear, focused, and present. Rest can be very active, but there is no stress, no effort, no distraction, no impatience, and no waiting. True rest is alert, relaxed, and open. Many people mistake rest for comfort, but the yoga of rest may not be comfortable. Rather, it allows discomfort to arise and to burn in the fire of freedom. The art of not moving is the fulfillment of the supreme yoga of rest. Calling this condition of not moving “rest” is perhaps misleading, for it is hot, intense, and often emotionally painful. Rest in non-movement is the ever-alert clarity of intelligence, inviting the pain of all identifications to come and to burn in the fire of love, fueled by the hurricane of silence. True rest reveals silence, and silence is the song of God. Silence is the ever-flowing fullness of emptiness, in which grace appears. The Forgiveness Factor
By Suzan Proia, C.Ht. Why is the act of forgiving so challenging for most of us? The process of holding on to a past hurt requires a great deal of energy and is a burden in itself. This blocks us from moving forward to a healthier state of mind. Choosing forgiveness is a direct route to reclaiming our personal power. When we give ourselves permission to forgive, we have a reason to celebrate. We create a golden opportunity to let go of our negative feelings towards the source of our pain (the person, event or situation) and release the emotional weight we have been carrying. As we let go of the discomfort caused by a perceived injustice, we make room in our hearts. Once that opening is created, we can choose to fill the space with warm energy, love and joy. Hidden within the experience of forgiving is a unique chance to shift our personal history. We are able to “emotionally reset” that which has transpired. Does this mean we must forgive and forget? No, not necessarily. It is always essential to protect ourselves. Remembering the challenges we have faced and the transgressions we have experienced will allow us to increase our survival skills. How do we forgive? Start by forgiving yourself for holding the hurt. We are human, after all! Find a path that works for you – perhaps meditation, EFT, or prayer. Realize there is a lesson to be learned. Recognize that the actions of others are a reflection of them; don’t take them personally. Remaining upset is like giving someone power over you. Make A Sustained Effort
By Maribeth Theisen I imagine historic sailing ships traveling for months or American pioneers pushing wagons through mountains and deserts, and wonder if any of us today would have had the fortitude it would require to arrive at our destinations. Cars whisk us across the country within days, and airplanes within hours. Many of us think it should be that way when it comes to attaining our goals. When friends and clients share stories of unfulfilled dreams, I notice they either took no action, or only acted for a short period of time. Looking back on my own achievements, I see that my unwavering belief was always accompanied by perseverance over time. For example, when I wanted to start my business, I did not have money to invest, nor did I have the skills to understand about applying with insurance companies, writing ads, billing insurance, etc. Yet, I told friends and colleagues I would create a private practice. I visualized myself with a busy and prosperous office. One day my hairdresser told me that her customer’s husband was a psychiatrist who needed help with his patients. She put us in touch, I interviewed with him, and ended up with an office, receptionist, billing agent, client referrals, and coaching. Within weeks I quit my job and had as many clients as I could handle. My ‘overnight success’ occurred after I visualized and networked for almost a year! The ‘Letting Go’ Meditation
By Paul O’Brien For eons, meditation has been a central spiritual practice of most religions. The current widespread interest developed after the popularization of eastern practices like yoga in the 1970s. In fact, meditation has long been referred to in India as raja yoga – the royal yoga of the mind. For years it was difficult to learn meditation without adopting exotic cultural trappings, rituals or even religious dogma, but it is now accessible without having to join a religious group or adopt any special beliefs. In truth, meditation transcends religious beliefs and special rituals are not necessary. Donald Altman, a psychotherapist and author of The Joy Compass, One-Minute Mindfulness, points out to those who claim they don’t have time to meditate that people spend hours ‘meditating’ online – focusing on shopping, social networks, celebrity gossip or pornography. Taking responsibility for what you pay attention to – and choosing mindful activities that support clarity and relaxation – will make you less stressed, happier, and more in touch with your intuition. When I was a meditation teacher, students would complain that they were simply unable to meditate – and doubted that they ever could – because they couldn’t stop thinking. It is a common misconception that meditation lets you stop thoughts from arising. But thoughts are going to arise no matter what. The key is to train the mind not to follow whatever thoughts arise, not to think about them. You learn to let them come and go
like clouds in the sky. A mantra is a technique for concentrating the mind in order to let go of thinking about thoughts that arise. It works because the brain can only focus on one thing at a time. For instance, you can’t simultaneously write a poem and do math. You can’t remember your high school reunion and think about a dinner recipe at the same time. Similarly, when you’re focused on your mantra – which can consist of anything from a meaningless
sound to a meaningful phrase – the static in your mind has no choice but to simmer down and fall away. In the ancient yoga tradition, a guru would give you some sacred Sanskrit phrase to use as your mantra. By repeating this phrase over and over, the mind becomes concentrated in its focus on the mantra, until it is empty of anything else. (FYI, your focus of concentration could also be a flickering candle, a mandala or the sensation of your own breathing.) Years ago, I created a verbal mantra designed to both clear the mind and increase mindfulness (which I discovered had the wonderful side benefit of making me better at noticing synchronicities). It consists of only two words: Letting Go. Just take a refreshing breath while thinking of the word Letting on the in-breath, and then think the word Go as you exhale. Keep doing this until the mind calms down. You can use the Letting Go mantra any time, even while driving or standing in line. It instills a feeling of peace and serves as a reminder that letting go of thinking is the key to a clear, open mind and tranquility. With the help of this little mantra, such letting go is a skill that can be practiced and improved throughout the day, increasing your joy and freedom from stress and anxiety. A Land Of Miracles
By Barbara Ensign The dictionary refers to a miracle as “an act of God.” The word miracle traditionally implies a separation between God and us, one that we feel can only be bridged or connected by an extraordinary act of God, or a miracle. God never performs miracles. There is no need for a bridge because there is no distance between God and us. Somewhere along the way we decided that a miracle is something beyond the norm. If we can set aside our need for miracles and realize that we are already connected to God, or our higher self, then we can be free to live our lives as our true selves, experiencing miracles as part of our natural lives. As a hypnotherapist, I find that hypnosis is a great way to reconnect to your higher self, or your God self, which is that creative, confident, unique and beautiful person that you are meant to be. Become aware of the smallest to the grandest miracles all around you. Look at a newborn baby and remind yourself that life itself is a miracle. Five babies are born every second, which means there are five miracles every second, 300 miracles every minute, 18,000 miracles every hour and 432,000 miracles every day. Connecting to something higher than your ego takes you past your separate self and brings your everyday mind to a higher, fuller place—to a land of miracles. Today is a normal day full of miracles, gifts and opportunities. In his book Shift Happens!, Robert Holden, Ph.D. asks us to contemplate these three questions: “Did I connect well today?” “Did I listen well today?” “Did I love well today?” He adds, “Love is the real miracle.”

Anita Moorjani Beats Death, Shares Wisdom By Eric T. Richter Anita Moorjani has experienced a miracle that probably none of us would ever want to encounter. Illness ravaged her body for over three years, and her body became a skeleton of its old self. Her doctors gave up on treating her terminal cancer. On February 2, 2006, as she lay in a coma on her hospital deathbed, her organs were failing. Her doctors predicted that she had just hours to live. Her family and friends were waiting for death’s call to take place. Then something extraordinary happened— Anita awakened! During an interview with Maui Vision Magazine in early October, Anita said “I’ll be telling my life story and lessons I learned from my experience. I’ll share what I believed saved my life, and what caused a shift during my near death experience to cause me to come back and for the cancer to heal.” Has the experience led her to a particular spiritual practice? “Yes and no,” Anita explained. “I feel that my whole life is spiritual. My near death experience caused me to wake up to realize that life is special. In the past, I would take time out for spiritual practices. Now my life as a whole
is a spiritual practice. And that doesn’t mean I live like a saint. I allow myself to be authentic. At our core, we are all spiritual, that is who we are.” Does she have any second thoughts about choosing life over death? “Yes, there are times I have felt what am I doing here and why have I come back? After the initial euphoria, I wondered why I came back. I wanted to be alone and lost friends because of it. My values changed and I felt I didn’t fit in and I felt that our world was upside down. What now mattered to me, people didn’t value those things.” Anita has some advice for cancer patients who are struggling to overcome cancer. “My biggest advice is not to obsess about cancer or any illness. We obsess over it. After the shock factor, we do research, and make our day about kicking cancer. “Cancer brings with it the message for you to ask yourself, how am I not loving myself? How am I not feeling joy in my life? Don’t make cancer the focus of your life. Use it as a springboard to find your joy. Imagine what you would do if the doctor had given you a clean bill of health, and go out and do it. People who have had cancer have a fear of it coming back. Let go of fear. Start laughing about life again!” Anita’s amazing experiences have dramatically changed her philosophy on living. “I like people to know that I no longer chase or pursue. Just be yourself and allow your life to unfold. When you allow yourself to be who you are, and know your true value, your life unfolds and whatever is yours will come to you. There’s no need to chase or pursue or compete. Traveling to a faraway destination to visit a site that’s been deemed sacred isn’t necessary. It doesn’t matter whether you believe in God or extraterrestrial beings or fairies or something else you cannot see. Miracles are not granted nor given to a select few. They do not occur more frequently in a specific place or in a particular time frame. Miracles aren’t reserved for only those who subscribe to a certain religion or set of principles or some far out personal philosophy. Miracles are all around us. Miracles are for all of us. Miracles are us. When we fall and fail and learn something, it’s a miracle. When we’re truly present wherever we are in the world, it’s a miracle. When we feel our experiences of life instead of trying to make sense of them, it’s a miracle. What is divine and undisputed is you. You exist in this world and you interact with it on a daily basis. Every day you make hundreds of choices that create the experience of life you have. No wishing for miracles needed. No wondering if miracles are real. Seeing your life as a miracle affirms your being one. May you and your loved ones enjoy the miracle of being together this holiday season no matter how close or far apart you are from each other. The Miracle Of Yoga: Healing From Within By Nadia Toraman
Here on Earth, we sometimes witness phenomena so magical and spectacular, and healing so profound and beyond explanation, it only seems right to call them miracles. Yoga, which means union with the divine, teaches us that this ability to miraculously heal comes from within, and that our body is the vessel through which that miracle is expressed. As a 9 year old moving from Turkey to Germany, many challenges presented themselves. A familiar sadness due to separation from family and culture added to the difficulties. The hardship I was holding in my mind and body seemed hopeless. Stepping into a hatha yoga class at the age of 20, I discovered a sacred space—one that would bring me peace of mind and conditioning for the body to realize optimal health. Being able to experience such joy through postures, breathing and chanting opened me to receive this seemingly miraculous knowledge from an ancient practice. Simply put, yoga embraced me. Tightness in the body restricts our full range of motion. Movement encourages the flow of synovial fluid, which lubricates the surfaces of the joints and keeps us supple. If muscles don’t relax, they become deprived of oxygen. Stretching, coordinated with the breath, elongates the muscles so they relax and absorb blood and oxygen, aiding and preventing injury and illness. And, yoga emphasizes optimal alignment of the body leading to a proper posture—one that aligns us with gravity and encourages a free flow of fluids and energy.
Through the practice of yoga, students have found relief from anxiety, depression and chronic pain. Research has shown that people suffering from PTSD were able to reduce their symptoms and regain control of their bodies and thoughts. Practiced regularly with proper alignment, and combined with breathing techniques and meditation, yoga becomes preventative medicine, saving us from potential health concerns and doctors’ visits. Surrendering to the moment is what ultimately frees the mind of its judgments and limitations. Similarly, surrendering oneself into an asana, or pose, allows one’s body to go into deeper states
of relaxation and clears the mind of intrusive and stress inducing thoughts. The calming effects of yoga help us to develop a friendly relationship with the body, helping to re-program the human organism. It’s also an effective and inexpensive way to prevent age-related diseases and conditions. Ultimately, the path of yoga can lead us to our higher calling—our dharma, or duty. The practice opens up our whole being and teaches us to trust the Self that resides within the heart, giving us a sense of loving awareness and devotion. It then helps us to maintain that state of awareness and open-heartedness in all of life’s situations. Traditionally, yoga classes begin and end by chanting “Om”—a Sanskrit word that is said to be the vibration of the universe. Chanting “Om” has been known to calm the nervous system, focus the mind, and bring it to a contemplative state free from attachment and aversion. Experiencing oneself through sacred vibration and focused breathing, while cultivating a flexible body and mind, brings us a life healthy, whole and joyful, with ever increasing levels of wisdom and vitality. By Jenny Grace Shaw We all know the song, “Breaking Up is Hard to Do,” sung by Neil Sedaka in the 1960s. If there was ever a song speaking the truth, that’s the one. Some believe it’s easier for men to dissolve their relationships. However, in my experience such termination is not easy for either gender. I want to offer guidance to men trying to get over an ex-girlfriend, and acknowledge that both genders can benefit from the following discussion. The following actions will help guide you back to owning your destiny, embracing your self-respect, and securing a new sense of self-empowerment. This is not an easy process and you cannot force it, skip a step, or ignore, change or deny feelings, for that only prolongs the trials and increases your indulgence in self-destructive beliefs and behaviors. Remain open and mindful and you will come out a stronger, even more special man! Take her down from the pedestal. The more you keep her up on a pedestal, the more you lose sight of your own worth. Take her down and put yourself back up. You are worthy of respect and love. Make a commitment to yourself. This is your time to get to know yourself even better and to grow. Take the time needed to review your feelings, journal, evaluate your physical health, talk to friends who will listen and not just tell you what to do, and investigate professional help options if you need it. Breathe and remember you are okay. Your ex does not provide you with oxygen or sustenance. This is the time to acknowledge your actual life needs while appreciating how wants have another special place in your world. Maya Abdominal Therapy Restores Optimal Health By Naomi Boggs “The uterus is the woman’s center. If her uterus is not in proper position and good health, nothing in her life will be right. She will be as out of balance as her uterus.” – Don Elijio Panti When I was in my teens I read a book by Rosita Arvigo called Sastun: My Apprenticeship with a Maya Healer. When I finished it I thought to myself, that is what I want to do with my life, thinking it was a pipe dream. Years later I was apprenticing with a wise woman healer who worked with Rosita. She inspired me to go down to Belize to study with Rosita and other traditional healers. When I arrived, it was like coming home. I learned the work she was teaching and I also felt the presence of the Maya spirits so deeply. When I was there staying in a room called “Ixchel,” who is a very well respected Maya Goddess, I had a dream that I moved to Hawaii to study bodywork so that I could apply the work I was learning with Rosita to support other people. I woke up the next morning and decided I could make that happen. A year later I moved to the islands and apprenticed with Shari Sunshine, a master body worker and healer. I have continued to study the Maya work and I have now become a certified instructor for Rosita’s institute. To show a little more how things came full circle, when Rosita came through town, she came to me for a few healing sessions. Soon, I will be heading down to Belize again to assist in
one of her classes. I feel not only honored, but also thankful, for how this magical universe works. Traditional Maya healers and midwives have practiced this time honored healing modality of Maya abdominal massage for thousands of years. Rosita studied this modality with a traditional Maya shaman, Don Elijio Panti, and thanks to her this modality is popular around the world. Maya abdominal therapy is a non-invasive, hands-on therapy that addresses health issues for

Learn To Manifest A New Reality
By Rich Ralston The most common definition for a miracle is “an unusual or wonderful event that is believed to be caused by the power of God or supernatural phenomenon.” Through my experience as an energy worker, I have come to see that what is commonly referred to as God is the positive and negative subtle energy that creates our universe and holds it in form. We are part of that subtle energy. Our spirit and soul incarnated on earth to become a direct expression of the unconditional love of our creator. I refer to this energy source as the prime creator. You can call it whatever you want. We have come here to become co-creators with the prime creator, experiencing all things possible as our high soul evolves. I teach people about subtle energy and how to clear old thought forms of belief that block their ability to use their power in cooperation with the prime creator. Once we understand that we have divine power, and that through the law of divine oneness we are part of the prime creator, we will not be dependent upon some obscure deity to do everything for us. We can learn to manifest a new reality and achieve the impossible. One of the greatest miracles that I’ve observed is when a person learns how to clear their past energy that is holding them back, learns to manifest their desires, and achieves their soul’s destiny. While most people are waiting for a supernatural event to change their world for them, the prime creator is waiting for you to manifest your power using the subtle energy available to you to be a miracle worker. The charge nurse was giving birth to baby #9 and granted my request to be present at the birth. I still remember thinking that I’d never witnessed such an amazing miracle. Later, when it was my time to give birth to my first child at age 22, I got to experience the miracle of birth again. We tend to call something a miracle whenever we accomplish something outside of our normal way of viewing the world. Often, the word miracle pops up when we have a success we didn’t think was possible. Webster’s Dictionary defines the word miracle as “1. an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs; 2. an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment.” If you want a miraculous answer to a question from your unconscious, you can incubate a dream. Write the question on a piece of paper and put it under your pillow. Think about the question as you fall asleep and tell yourself that when you wake up you will have an answer in the form of a dream that is easy to understand. When you receive an answer in the morning, one that you didn’t really expect to have, it can feel like a miracle. Most people have an occasional dream that predicts future events. What Is A Miracle?
By Rhonda Felix A miracle is an everyday occurrence in truth. Miracles come to be because our thoughts and feelings are in alignment. And yet in the beginning of our journey, there are times when we are so surprised when something in our life works out in the way our hearts desire! As time goes on, and we continue to practice being in alignment, we begin to understand that this is the way the “law” works. As we sow, so shall we reap. What we think and feel is what we manifest. There is no way around this truth; it will come to be in spite of us. And we cannot hide from our thoughts and feelings. Look at our lives, and we will see them in front of us. Oftentimes this requires us to do some “housecleaning” of our thoughts, which are based on our beliefs. It is challenging at best to hold a vision that something we desire is coming to us if we feel on some level that we don’t deserve it. It is our common journey to clear away all beliefs that we are not enough—physically, mentally or spiritually. It is like peeling away the layers of an onion skin, and it can take us a lifetime. As we peel away, it becomes easier to manifest our heart’s desires; and then we experience this as a “miracle.” There is no shame in this journey; we are all on it! Miracles Are Quite Common
By Eliza Bassett Miracle: A surprising and welcome event that cannot be explained by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. Miracles are actually quite common. Our psyche’s filtering system—what we limit our reality and beliefs to—impacts our ability to see and experience miracles in our lives. When I enter a shamanic state, it is quite normal for me to be able to perceive, and then act upon, energetic intrusions and attachments that have taken up residence in a client’s body. These intrusions can be as simple as thought forms or cords of energy that penetrate the energy field and take on form. Although unseen, these forms are fully capable of creating stress, pain, disease, and other influences on the human body. By utilizing shamanic protocols, these energetic intrusions can be removed; and wellness and peace can be restored for the client. Once removed, the difference in how the client feels can be startling. Many clients report that pain, pressure and unease have been lifted or removed. A miracle? Perhaps. In my experience as an astrologer, stressful once-in-a-lifetime aspects have a ‘silver lining’ when aided by other planets passing in trine or sextile to the natal chart. The challenge as a human experiencing life and its influences is to lasso these subtle and helpful energies in a consistent manner. The stressful ones are just there, unrelenting, until we grab on to something that feeds us deeply; and these subtle energies can do that. Hope For Vertigo Sufferers

A new treatment focusing on cervical (neck) injuries shows promise for patients with chronic vertigo disorders, such as Meniere’s disease, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), and Labyrinthitis. A study was published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research (JVSR), where 60 patients with chronic vertigo were evaluated for misalignments in their upper neck vertebrae. In all subjects, cervical misalignments were discovered and then treated. In 48 cases, chronic vertigo ceased. In 12 cases, patients experienced fewer and less severe vertigo episodes. Because vertigo is a brain disorder that has been frequently linked to head trauma, it was theorized that correction of trauma-induced cervical misalignments may positively impact vertigo disorders. Of the 60 patients in the JVSR study, 56 recalled at least one traumatic event prior to his or her vertigo onset, including whiplash and/or concussion sustained as a result of motor vehicle accidents and through sports such as hockey, skiing, cycling, horseback riding, football, soccer, and skateboarding. Even in cases where the study subjects did not recall incidences of head trauma prior to their vertigo onset, upper cervical misalignments were found. In fact, all 60 cases showed evidence of cervical trauma when two diagnostic tests – thermal imaging and cervical x-ray – were performed. The evaluation and treatment protocol administered in the study was a form of chiropractic care, known as Upper Cervical Chiropractic. After a diagnosis of cervical injury, each patient’s injured neck was corrected by administering a precise adjustment by hand on a specially designed table. Vertigo is a debilitating disorder that affects the quality of life of millions of people. The relationship between head trauma, vertigo onset, and upper cervical treatment provides hope for these patients. Miraculous Amazing Grace
By Shalandra Abbey In 1988, while working for the IBM Corporation in Coral Gables, Florida, a friend suggested I make an appointment for a Reiki treatment. I didn’t have a clue what it was, but scheduled the session anyway. After a one-hour treatment, miracles began to happen and they haven’t stopped. I took First and Second Degree and Reiki Master training, left the corporate world, moved to Hawaii, and became a full-time Reiki Master. That was over 20 years ago and reports of healing miracles continue to pour in daily. As just a few examples, clients and students have reported lowered blood pressure, improved eyesight, and healed diabetes, cancer, heart conditions and asthma. Reiki energy is sometimes called energy medicine. It heals on every level: physically by healing the body, emotionally by understanding and healing our feelings, mentally by curing negative thought patterns and spiritually by helping us to love ourselves and others. Disruption in the flow of energy is the main cause of illness. Treatments encourage the body’s own innate ability to heal and stay healthy by giving it the energy it needs to heal itself. By Maurgana Stiastny Miracles. Yes, I do actually believe in miracles. I had to wonder, “what is a miracle?” I think of miracles as holding a magical power or grace that comes from a source greater than ourselves. There are many kinds of miracles. There are the everyday kind of miracles, such as a rainbow appearing at a perfect and profound moment, the sun rising every morning and blessing every day of our lives, seedlings bursting through the ground, and the miracle of childbirth. Of course these miracles can be explained scientifically. But still, they are miracles. For me, miracles contain a mystery, a certain blessing from the divine that makes it all happen. Even if something is explained scientifically, innate within it is a special power. As I write this, I am getting ready to take a journey to see John of God, a spirit healer and psychic surgeon in Brazil. He is able to heal incurable disease; some people come in with crutches and walk out without crutches. Perhaps we can call these “real” miracles because they are inexplicable. I believe that something special happens there and that the people who come from all walks of life receive a special blessing. So how is it possible? From what I have heard, he works with entities and has the entities work to heal the people. Some may say, “for real?” I have heard from different people some totally outrageous experiences. One person I know received a psychic surgery during the day, and then at night stitches appeared on this person’s arm while they slept. That is definitely unusual. I look forward to receiving a miracle, seeing miracles, and believing even more in miracles.

Reprogramming DNA

Sharing A Reiki Miracle
By Rev. Debbie Dehm I have been a Reiki Master for 17 years, and in that time I have heard many stories reporting miraculous healings from Reiki. Reiki has been known to reduce pain, speed healing, reduce stress, release karma; Reiki is known for healing body and spirit. What you may not know is that you can use Reiki in many other ways besides healing. I want to share with you one of those miraculous stories. When I lived in Illinois, I taught meditation and Reiki classes in my office in Bloomington, but I lived in Chenoa, about 40 miles away. One day I left my office and was on my way home when I realized that I had left a candle burning in my office. It was a beautiful homemade candle that one of my Reiki students had given to me. That was the first day I lit that candle, and I didn’t want it to melt down completely in just one night. On the other hand, I didn’t want to turn around and go back to my office either. I knew it would not start a fire because it was sitting on a plate on top of my metal filing cabinet. I thought about it and I decided to send Reiki to the candle. The next day, when I returned to my office, I discovered the candle was still burning and had not melted at all! It was still the eight-inch pillar candle it was when I left the night before, and it didn’t even have a puddle of wax around it. I was so grateful to Reiki for saving my candle that night. Is Death Part Of The Miracle? By Bodhi Be “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein Often in my work in supporting the dying and their families, I am confronted by the quandary that shows up when people are hoping for a miracle. Someone is dying and medical treatments are not slowing down or stopping the dying. In the ‘not wanting to die’ comes the great wish for a miracle. The miracle, in those moments, often looks like some experimental treatment or surgery— finding the life-saving cure at an alternative clinic on the other side of the world; an intercession by God directly, in one form or another; and on and on. People want a miracle that will allow the dying person to remove this uncomfortable fitting story, like a scratchy coat, and walk away from this nightmare. They want something that will somehow, against all appearances and odds, prognostications and medical expectations, turn out to be…a miracle. Having grandchildren, I can certainly relate to that strong desire to keep on living. Sometimes that miracle actually shows up. But by the definition we’ve ascribed to it, it hardly ever happens. A large percentage of these dying people who hope and pray for the miracle don’t get one. They die, sometimes after spending their remaining weeks and months scouring the world for where that miracle might be found. How do I approach the conversation of asking them whether they’d rather use this time to be with their families and their communities, say goodbye,
complete relationships, and learn how to die, face forward? How do I tell them that this whole life, this entire creation, this very moment is a miracle, and death itself is part of the miracle? Grasping one’s mind and heart around the understanding that the miracle is happening—even now, even here—is no small accomplishment. To make the cultural leap that death itself is an equal player alongside love and beauty in this ever-present miracle is, of course, too large a leap for most of us. We have been raised in a death phobic culture that considers death to be a medical event, a failure to thrive, a battle lost, the end; or, a psychological event, a series of ‘losses’ causing more and more suffering.

Most have an immediate negative reaction to the word ‘death’ itself. Does a healthy life include its death? Looking closely at nature, you can easily view life and death embracing and dancing; it’s difficult to see where one ends and the other begins. Life feeds on death. The food we eat is grown and nourished by millions of years of dying plants and animals, and yes, humans too. It is a miracle that a corn plant is made of sunlight, rain, minerals and dead things, bringing forth corn; it is made of all those things that we then eat, and then we are also all those things. Is it somehow wrong, inappropriate or not part of the miracle for that corn plant, once it has grown ears of corn, to die? Nature, or the environment, is not something ‘out there’ that we visit and discuss. We are made of the same things as corn plants, and the more we lose contact with that relationship, the more removed we become from this ongoing miracle. Often a close encounter with death—either our own or someone close to us—is what actually shakes us out of our stupor and notions of having a lot of time. It pulls away the veil that separates us from participating in the miracle. A Healing Message For Mom
By Ruth Kramer I have a beautiful story to share with all of you about an experience I once had while in a session with a client. A woman tourist came to see me and she complained of shoulder aches and upper back pain. We talked for a few moments and then I left her to prepare for her session. While I stood outside the room, I called in all the ancestors and angels of the light for her highest good. Before I re-entered the room, a young visitor from the spirit world showed up and stood beside me. This visitor had long soft curls and was 17 years old. She was full of vitality, in her cheerleader outfit, holding up a sign I couldn’t read. I began working on the woman on my table and this girl was urging me to share her presence. I asked the woman if I could share something spiritual and she said yes. I described to her who was with me and she began to cry. I was then taken to a Thanksgiving scene, where the girl was leaning over the woman on my table, who was cutting carrots, pointing to them, laughing and sharing. She was showing me her carrot-colored hair. The woman on my table, who now had a relaxed back, was the mother of this girl. She told me that her daughter passed away in an auto accident just after Thanksgiving. According to the Mayans, we are in the age of the new Baktun, commonly known as the Fifth Dimension, where our thoughts manifest more quickly than before. For this reason, it is more important than ever that we cleanse our thoughts, words and actions of negative karma, personal karma and family and lineage karma. Releasing this negativity allows us to return to our heart space and propels us into joyful living. It is after having lived our lives in duality, in a world of pain and suffering, and having opened into our spiritual path to accept our humanity and our divinity as the full spectrum of who we are, that we see we inhabit a universe of loving kindness. We realize that everything has a purpose and a meaning, and each lesson in life allows us to place deeper trust in the flow of our divine guidance.
