This is my first painting from my first collection, “Ubiquity. The idea of a parallel universe where one can fantasize about an alternate reality co-existing with this one has always appealed to me. Being inspired by the complexity of my state of mind, I decided to create an art piece that exemplifies the variety of emotions I felt, mirrored by the wide spectrum of colors used. Every brush stroke was executed exclusively in a vertical movement, allowing me to voice the monotony of my reality and underline the disparity between this universe and others. The blurry effect given by the painting illustrates my ambivalent nature towards reality and gave me an escape from this infinite thought process.

Surreal 46

Opulence

This piece is an evident representation of the inner self that seems fragmented when firstly encountered. The abundance of the gold color in the center of the painting illustrates one’s intellectual wealth that comes from the various riveting experiences in life. Although the painting could be misinterpreted, there is more to a story than meets the eye. The gold center is framed by a variety of shredded brush strokes that depict the derangement of the human mentality. Through this, a bridge between sanity and the seasoned self can be created. Ultimately, the piece portrays what its name suggests: The opulence of the mind.
