Vice President, Practice Leader, Teachers On Call, Bloomington, Minnesota Who He Is: With more than 31 years of experience in the staffing industry, Al Sowers has earned his place as a workforce solutions expert. Starting his career as a staffing supervisor for Kelly Services, Sowers has since climbed up the corporate ladder, holding positions from Branch Manager to Vice President of U.S. Operations for Kelly. Sowers is currently Vice President and Practice Leader of Teachers On Call, a Kelly Services company. A New Beginning: After working closely with the Teachers On Call management team following Kelly’s acquisition of the company in 2017, Sowers was chosen to be Vice President and Practice Leader of the operation. His experience as a market leader for Kelly Educational Staffing and vast expertise in operations, sales, and recruiting make him the ideal fit for this new role. ‘Top Gun’ of Staffing: Sowers first identified his ability to take on greater responsibilities in stride when he was chosen to be Kelly’s first international transfer to Canada, where he served as Branch Manager to the region’s offices. After successfully leading this sector, he returned to the U.S. to continue establishing relationships and achieving growth for the company. Making a Difference: Passionate about education, Sowers has made it a mission to connect school districts with qualified teacher candidates in an effort to solve the teacher shortage. Making meaningful relationships through quality recruitment, he is personally involved in making community connections through his work at Teachers On Call. 142
