SWISS CULT BAGS DELIVERED WITH PINPOINT ACCURACY Air and sea freight | Land transport | Warehouse logistics

SMART LOGISTICS SOLUTION FOR JAPAN When a Swiss cult brand like Freitag expands its business to Japan, the expertise of an international logistics partner is needed. The range available to Japanese customers is changed in the stores every week. Freitag relies on GebrĂźder Weiss as its logistics mainstay, enabling it to concentrate fully on sales and marketing.

AT A GLANCE: FREITAG Freitag lab.AG, based in Zurich, was founded in 1993 by the brothers Markus and Daniel Freitag. With its bags made from used truck tarpaulins, Freitag has evolved into a real cult brand. Today, some 400,000 individual products are produced annually. The Freitag network consists of 24 flagship stores and 360 sales partners worldwide.

THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE Freitag operates its own flagship stores in Tokyo and Osaka. These stores and 50 other Japanese dealers were previously stocked with goods directly from the Zurich production location. In order to simplify delivery, storage and returns management, Freitag was looking for a local logistics provider in Japan. The goal: swift and customized delivery to stores and dealers. The challenge: ● Weekly change of product range to present new products on an ongoing basis ● No dedicated storage space in the shops ● High number of returns

THE SOLUTION

THE SOLUTION Gebrüder Weiss picks up the goods punctually from Switzerland and transports them around the globe to the various points of sale in Japan. Summary of services: ● Delivery by air freight via Wolfurt (AT) or railway and sea freight via Basel (CH) / Hamburg (DE) ● Dedicated warehouse for Freitag in Zama (Yokohama) with around 6,000 sqm of storage space ● Supply chain management, eFulfillment and numerous other services ● Fine distribution of the goods to the individual stores ● Delivery within 24/48 hours ● Around 500 orders per month

● Single point of contact (SPOC)

Yasuke Wakino Business Development Manager Freitag Japan

“Japan is a long way from Switzerland, which is why we need a local logistics partner. With the Gebrüder Weiss local hub, we are able to act much faster, there is no need to build up storage capacity at the point of sale, and we can order on a daily basis. Inventory has also now become much easier.” www.freitag.ch
