MILANO ITINERARY

“I was born in Lausanne, but I have always lived in Milan”. A reporter, portrait and fashion photographer and art director who keeps on reinventing his relationship with photography, keeping a step ahead of the times and the trends, Toni Thorimbert started taking photographs to document the social and political tensions of the Seventies. “When I came from the outskirts of Milan to the city to study photography,” he recalls, “the studio of Gabriele Basilico (intellectual and master of photography, ed.) became my refuge”. In the Eighties, his collaboration with the most innovative periodicals of the time, such as Max, Amica, Moda, King, set the new visual standards of the day. A photographer by vocation, with a passion for riding both horses and motorcycles, he loves Milan “for the professional opportunities it has offered me, and the way of life it offers, which is easy, organised and connected. I love how easy it is, and its size, not awarded the award for creativity in portrait photography, and since then his career has taken off, with international partnerships with magazines such as Details, Mademoiselle, and as well as the Italian press, from GQ to Rolling Stone and from Io Donna to Style, as well as prestigious advertising campaigns. “Gianni Versace, exceptional in every way, a person I always found easy to relate to.
