hirley Machaba of PWC is SA’s Best Professional while Turner & Townsend are the recipients of the Best Professional Services Firm Award. There are winners in different fields drawn from two main categories namely the built environment and commerce law and management. “These awards are important as they give visibility to disciplines that are desperately needed in this country. They also reward entities for performing well in important areas such as transformation, customer service, contribution to the community and commitment to ethical best practice,” says Lebo Monyatsi, Head: Group Market Development and Stakeholder Relations at Sanlam. “The SAPSA awards present an opportunity to recognize the contributions made by unsung heroes, our professionals, who, in a lot of cases, labour quietly in the back rooms of industry and commerce, flying their flags high – for their country, their clients and their companies. The awards are certainly an opportunity to encourage others to join their rank and file to continue to take us all forward,” says Raymond Chamboko, Director at W.consulting. The full list of winners is as follows: Lifetime Achievement Awards Fatima Laher (Bowmans), Mteto Nyati (Altron), Sandra Crous (Payspace), Frik Rademan (Avbob), John Truter (WSP), Thandi Orleyn (Peotona) and Andrew Skipper (Hogan Lovells) Engineering firm of the year – Aurecon
