2022 Social & Environmental Responsibility Highlights
Land Conservation
To date, we have protected 1430 acres of wilderness land containing provincially significant wetlands including a 188-acre property that hasn’t been logged in over 70 years. In 2022 we donated above and beyond our typical contribution to the Nature Conservancy of Canada to support their new Boreal Wildlands Project which will protect approximately 2000 acres.
Trees for Schools Program
This year, we donated 5000 tree seedlings and 2000 wildflower seed packs to Southwestern Ontario elementary schools in celebration of Earth Day.
Plastic Packaging Removal
We have removed more than 90% of the plastic in our packaging and are working to eliminate the rest by the end of this year. We did not hit our original target of summer 2021 for this goal but are continuing to test several options to get us there.
Carbon Offsets
The cost of offsets increased substantially in 2022, so unfortunately, our budget did not go as far this year. We purchased over 3000 offsets which helped us offset approximately 46% of our carbon emissions. Our goal is to be carbon neutral by 2025, primarily by reducing our emissions and offsetting what we cannot.

UV Tech Tub®
The UV Tech Tub is designed with safety, sanitization effectiveness and ease of use as top priorities. In one minute, the UV Tech Tub sanitizes bacteria and viruses commonly found in schools. Single Student Hand Sanitizer Station

Easy-access to hand sanitizer is critical upon entering a building and in busy common areas of the school.
This cart includes a magnetic board to post instructions and entry protocols, child lock out safety feature, one large drip tray to catch messy drips, a paper towel dispenser and one Small Open Tub with a lid to store extra supplies.
It is built with sturdy metal tubing that is easy to wipe down and the 3” casters make this cart easy to move anywhere in a school. Its size is low enough for small elementary students to easily access the dispenser (floor to bottom of dispenser is 28 1/2”). Dispenser sold separately.

Our no-touch automatic hand sanitizer dispensers help reduce the spread of infection and are designed to fit all our carts and stands, but are also available as a standalone item. Dispenser is refillable from sanitizer jugs so there is no need to buy refill cartridges. Fits in any of our Hand Sanitizer Carts or Stands. Our dispensers have been tested over 400,000 times.

Shared manipulatives like Lego, tan gram shapes, counters, etc. need a fast and easy way to be cleaned every day. This simple but useful tub kit includes two of our durable Large Open Tubs and a clear mesh-bottomed tub for a complete washing and drying set.
Our tubs have been tested with Caviwipes (medical grade disinfection wipes) and bleach diluted to 2:10.

Air purification is a key component in improving air quality indoors. There are many benefits to having good air quality including increased student engagement, improved well-being for allergy and asthma sufferers and reducing the transmission of viruses, including COVID-19.
To prevent the spread of airborne viruses indoors, the air should be refreshed five to six times per hour, however, over half of existing school and building ventilation systems are outdated and achieve less than that. Placing portable air purifiers in these spaces helps reduce the amount of airborne contaminants, including viruses by refreshing and purifying the air as it passes through its filters.
