Organic nature Dream or reality? From the point of encounter between the authenticity of materials like raffia, jute, antique wood, veined stones and the motifs of prints and patterns arise amazing accessories. Rustic fringes embellished with micro coloured beads as well as rosettes and tassels in faded raffia. Python skin, lamé, groisgrain lend themselves to unusual combinations. The uneven undulations of stones and wood grains draw large buttons, pendants, buckles, sometimes alongside transparent materials to create curious contrasts. Unexpected studs and rhinestones appliqués on ‘mordoré’ lace backgrounds. Sogno o realtà? To boldly proceed to unexpected places in order to refine even more an aesthetic calligraphy based on an unashamedly avant-garde approach to innovation. And as fashion constantly need innovation, this is, once again, truly commendable. Miuccia’s approach to fashion design and, as a matter of fact to fashion in general, is not your run of the mill “let’s make some frocks and see if they sell” but rather a continuous study on how fashion can be used a conveyor belt of ideas and information and at time become a form of art. Ancora una volta, Miuccia Prada fa ciò che sa far meglio, ovvero procedere coraggiosamente in territori inaspettati per affinare ancor più una calligrafia estetica basata su un’approccio spudoratamente all’avanguardia e d’innovazione. Davvero encomiabile, visto che la moda ha costantemente bisogno d’innovazione. Un’approccio alla moda in tutti i suoi aspetti che non è certo il classico “facciamo degli abitini e vediamo se riusciamo a venderli”, ma piuttosto un continuo studio su come la moda può essere utilizzata come un nastro trasportatore di idee e di informazioni, a volte diventando una vera e propria forma d’arte.
