A safe box, neglected for years in the old family farm, contains all sort of trinkets, including an old watch that, once wound, started working again. This is how the Harper & Brooks story starts. The discovery of an old watch spurred Ole Øivind Skaar, who previously worked as a financial consultant, to launch in Oslo with like-minded creatives the Norwegian watch brand whose aim is “to create modern timepieces inspired by the time when thing were meant to last”. The result? Timeless watches with Swiss mechanics and made of diamond-cut sapphire crystal, Swedish vegetable tanned leather and Scandinavian organic wood. Founded by Pete Sunderland and Ross Baynham, the multi-disciplinary design studio Instrmnt debuted in 2014 with Instrmnt 01, a minimalist steel watch inspired by mid-20th century industrial design. Available in a variety of different colourways, including gunmetal, rose gold, brushed silver, and with a variety of different watch straps in calf leather, tan leather or vegan rubber, each watch is delivered unassembled with the appropriate tools for final assembling by the end customer. Instrmnt is based in Trongate in Glasgow, the most exciting creative hub of the excitingly creative Scottish city. BAGS ARRIVE AT EXPO RIVA SCHUH A NEW SECTION FOR THE FOOTWEAR TRADE SHOW The June 2018 edition of Expo Riva Schuh presented and offered to its visitors Gardabags, a new area dedicated to bags, perhaps the most important accessory for all women, that already created great interest among buyers and fashion professionals. Attention to detail and sustainability are some of the keywords for Gardabags. The ‘Re-Fashion’ project, for example, turned its attention to the environment with several eco-sustainable accessories, among others by Fenz Your

Friend, DaLaLeo, VolverUp, B-Recycled and Embawo from the Trentino region in Italy. The other collections were presented by production areas including Italy, China, India but also United Arab Emirates, Poland, Spain and Germany. A new event to keep an eye on in the vast panorama of accessory trade shows.The next edition is scheduled from January 12th to 15th 2019.
