ournalist, researcher, explorer, and filmmaker, Alex Chionetti shares his adventures exploring lost civilizations and UFO visitations at Main Line MUFON Tuesday, December 18, at Tredyffrin Public Library, Strafford, PA. Visit www.MainLineMUFON for details. He was a disciple of the late Dr. Joseph Allen Hynek, the Chicago astronomer who coined the term “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Dr. Hynek considered Chionetti to be “the most active field researcher I knew.” In 1984, Chionetti emigrated from his native Argentina to study film/TV documentary production at MIT. In 2017, Sony Entertainment appointed him the online digital ufological consultant for marketing the 40th anniversary re-issue of Spielberg’s epic “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” As a global explorer, Alex has devoted almost 40 years to field research, including four expeditions to Tayos caves in the Ecuador Amazon jungle that present evidence of advanced ancient civilization. In the 90s he researched eight UFO sights in Mexico, witnessing a UFO (a plasma ship) with actress-mystic Shirley MacLaine and Australian First Minister Andrew Peacock at Tepoztlan, Mexico. During the last decade, he discovered and registered two Pre-Incan cities in the central sierra of Peru; explored the Chilean high desert to retrieve landing and crash debris from a 1917 UFO case; and as consultant for the History Channel’s “UFO Hunters” (TV), investigated UFO-aircraft dogfights in Mexico, the Roswell sight, (NM), Area 51, underwater bases in Cuba and cattle mutilations in western U.S. Alex Chionetti was the original developer of the History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” pilot and first two seasons with his “Mysterious Worlds” (introducing Americans) to The Zone of Silence (Mexico), the Markawasi Platteau and the Hayu Marka Door (Peru), and later “Underground Aliens” where he explored the mysteries of the Metal Library, and Cuba’s “Underwater Aliens.” His latest project for Discovery Channel will cover lost treasures in the South American jungles, and for National Geographic Channel, Spanish content, an expedition to find a lost vessel from the 1800s sunk in the Atlantic waters. He has consulted to governments and military in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Mexico, and Uruguay on ufological matters. As director of investigations of CIU Comision de Investigationes Ufologicas, he published the Spanish version of the “International UFO Report.” In 2013, he represented Argentina in the Disclosure Project—an advocacy program to urge public disclosure of UFO files kept secret by government, military and aviation officials at Washington DC. Soon after, he re-opened his research on the Fort Monmouth (NJ) case of sightings and cover-ups related to extraterrestrial evidence. Khan’s middle grade book, Amina’s Voice, is a realistic and touching portrait of a girl, Amina, struggling with changing friend dynamics, family drama and an act of vandalism that affects her entire community. Wolf Performing Arts Center Presents Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet he school of Verona, a prestigious Boarding School in Massachusetts in 2018, is a beautiful, sprawling institution that boasts students who are college-bound, career driven, and highly centered. When the Capulets and Montagues collide, the power of love triumphs over the strength of greed, appearances, and wealth. In trying to shield their children, have these families driven them to an untimely death?

Standing, from left – Isabel Wallacavage (Juliet, Home School) and McKenna Blinman (Elizabeth, Friends’ Central School, 12th grade); sitting, from left – Leo Flora (Romeo, Friends’ Central School, 9th grade); Sophie Oberreither (Balthasar, Agnes Irwin School, 8th grade); Sean Killeen (Tybalt, Haverford High School, 10th grade). Wolf Performing Arts Center, a non-profit located in Bryn Mawr, will present Romeo and Juliet December 14-16 at Wolf Performing Arts Center’s Black Box Theater. The production features 19 sixth through twelfth grade students from 14 unique schools in the Greater Philadelphia Area. “Romeo and Juliet challenges our young performers’ intellect, asking them to consider how themes relevant in the 1500s are still so prominent today,” said Director Betsy Wolf Regn. “Every rehearsal process offers a chance for actors to self-reflect, realize their value in an ensemble, and feel the pride that only completing such a unique task can supply.” “I have never worked on a Shakespeare show before, and it definitely was a challenging experience to adapt to his writing, but I think it payed off because it helped me improve my acting,” said actor Leo Flora (Romeo, Friends’ Central School, 9th grade). “Every role teaches me something new about acting. This show, and particularly our amazing director Betsy, have

taught me to be conscious of my intentions and expectations in scenes. This show has allowed me worlds of growth as an actor and as a person,” said actor McKenna Blinman (Elizabeth, Friends’ Central School, 12th grade). “Romeo and Juliet has taught me to embrace a seemingly one-sided role and add dimensions to it,” said actor Sean Killeen (Tybalt, Haverford High School, 10th grade). Christmas Cards with a Personal Touch wo Neumann University students have designed Christmas cards that the university will send to more than 2,500 people this holiday season. Mia Cimino, a sophomore Social Work major from Wilmington, Delaware, created art that Dr. Chris Domes, university president, will use as his official holiday greeting card. This card is sent to approximately 1,400 people, including faculty and staff, the board of trustees, major donors, and members of the Domes family.

Two students won a contest to design Neumann University’s 2018 Christmas cards. One design, by Mia Cimino (below), will be the official greeting card from Dr. Chris Domes, sent to approximately 1,400 homes in the region. The other, by Stephanie Vogelman (right), will be sent by Admissions to about 1,400 high school students who have been admitted for fall 2019. Her art depicts an open manger scene with three kings bearing gifts for the Christ child beneath a golden sky and the star they followed to the birthplace. Stephanie Vogelman, a senior Social Work major from Northeast Philadelphia, designed a card that the Office of Admissions will send to all high school students who have been admitted to Neumann for fall 2019. The estimated audience for this Christmas card is also 1,400. It will be displayed in homes throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Her design shows St. Francis and St. Nicholas in the foreground with children playing in the snow behind them. St. Francis is surrounded by animals while St. Nicholas is distributing Christmas presents. “Using a Christmas card that is designed by a student gives us the opportunity to showcase the many talents of the young women and men who are part of the Neumann family,” explained Dr. Domes. Mia and Stephanie entered the first university Christmas card contest by submitting their artistic creations in September. Submissions had to reflect Neumann’s Franciscan tradition and fit a 5" x 7" or 7" x 5" format. Each artist will be acknowledged on the card that bears her design.
