THE MARQUE
‘Maison de Haute Couture’ of Nagla Rouverand were established in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011. Since then we have designed and produced luxury wear between bridal, Couture , evening and cocktail ready to wear to direct clients and high end boutiques from around the world. Quality is always our first and foremost when creating each luxurious artisanal garment. At Nagla Rouverand luxury couture we only use the finest imported natural fabrics and jeweled embellishments for our pieces. Respecting the concept of haute couture, each piece is hand crafted by many talented artisans. Due to our increasing global following our brand launched and created the first collection of both ready to wear and bespoke made-to-order evening and cocktail dresses. We are keen that each piece remain stylish and timeless in nature, elevating the wearer’s mood and bejeweling her personality.
THE CREATOR
Nagla Rouverand in person is a visionary designer who understands the needs of today’s stylish, confident woman, or as she refers to her clients, her ‘leading ladies’. Owning 17 years of advertising and media communication experience, specializing in luxury brands, (Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani), Nagla Rouverand decided it was time to follow her lifelong passion of creating beautiful, unique garments that would embellish both a woman’s silhouette and her life. Nagla is a French–Egyptian fashion designer who honors haute couture craftsmanship, which is implemented in each one of her pieces. Born in Cairo, raised in Kuwait and lived in Dubai, she was heavily influenced by the wealth and glamour of the oil rich culture, specifically the high end designer fashion that surrounded her, in addition to the Egyptian and French philosophies, history and culture, artisanal craftsmanship influence. She further enhanced her natural talent for fashion design at Esmod International French Fashion University in Dubai then studied luxury brand management and product design at London College of Fashion. She pays special attention to the finer details in each of her designs. She has always placed her passion for a perfect luxury product over economical mass produced pieces. Each visual masterpiece she creates represents her respect for creative bespoke fashion design and hand stitched craftsmanship.
THE INSPIRATION
Each piece featured in Nagla Rouverand collection celebrates a woman’s body. Inspired by 18th and 19th century luxury fashion, this collection captures an era of bygone elegance that has been translated to modern 21st century high glamour. Honoring gracious design elements from the Victorian era, highlighting master craftsmanship and delicate feminine silhouettes, each statement piece is representative of a rich, opulent legacy. The collection features evening and cocktail dresses that are all constructed from the finest quality 100% natural fabrics as raw Dupioni silk, silk chiffon. Each dress has then been hand crafted or embellished with mindfully placed embroidery, beading or hand stitched silk flowers, dazzling highest quality crystals, radiant fresh water pearls, Czech beads all work together to create a final show stopping impact. Inspired by both French and Victorian influences each piece is reminiscent of those bygone eras, cultures and customs whether it be reflected in the construction of the buttons, meticulous drapery, fabric manipulation, placement of lace and intricate beadwork peppered throughout the collection. Each garment exudes glamour and magnificence, capturing moments of Victorian triumphs. Each one is a regal story that celebrates the strength and femininity of women past and present. The collection transcends time and represents today’s confident, elegant, style conscious modern woman.
