With St. Joseph’s upgrade to the victor video management system and installation of Illustra IP cameras and VideoEdge servers, the hospital’s surveillance system will be integrated in one management platform across the health network’s three major hospital sites. With advanced reporting capabilities and increased image precision, the victor video management system incorporates both new IP cameras and existing analog cameras, giving St. Joseph’s the flexibility to prioritize upgrades of legacy equipment over time.

Along with its integrator partner of more than 20 years, Integrated Video & Surveillance Inc., London, Ontario, St. Joseph’s began installing new Illustra IP cameras in one of the hospital’s recent wing additions, in addition to upgrading some of its 600 existing cameras to Illustra

IP models. The organization chose Illustra fisheye cameras to give St. Joseph’s a 360-degree view in corridor intersections and other strategic locations, increasing square footage and angle coverage using fewer cameras. In addition, the victor video management system allows St. Joseph’s to harness the full capabilities of its surveillance system with sophisticated analytics and faster video playback.

Founded in 1869, St. Joseph’s Health Care London is one of Ontario’s leading teaching hospitals, ranked as one of Canada’s top ten research hospitals by the Lawson Health Research Institute. St. Joseph’s is comprised of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkwood Hospital, Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care, Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care and Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care.
