On Friday 11th October, the Nobel committee will announce the 2013 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and there is one name which seems to be on everybody’s lips; Malala Yousafzai. At just 14-years-old, the Pakistani activist was shot in the head by Taliban forces in her home country after daring to campaign for greater rights to education. Malala was on her way home in the back of a small pick-up truck used to transport children when a masked man stopped the truck before another shot her in the head with a pistol.

A government official and a security source told the Reuters news agency he was now ‘free’. Mr Zeidan was being detained at the interior ministry's anti-crime department, said an official, and he was reported to be in ‘good health and being treated well’.
