“Ceramic Lands” Works of Lombard and Italian tradition and innovation

Since 24th September in Lodi will be held an exhibition dedicated to the promotion of the Lombard and Italian craftsmanship of the ceramic sector, exhibition which develops from the will of exploiting still once an artistic and economic cultural heritage which allows the communication between peoples through “making” objects of great tradition and design of high technical-artistic skill. The project “Ceramic Lands” has the purpose to be a “showcase” for promoting debates and comparisons about the Lombard ceramics in order to boost the territorial production and keep the artisan origins. The exhibition is carried out by MIAExhibitions Board of Monza and Brianza within “Lodi is ceramic”. There could not be a most suitable town than Lodi, as first Lombard town upon which has been conferred the ceramic DOC, for holding the exhibition. In fact the Municipality of Lodi, with other Boards of the province, in the months of September and October will carry out the event “Lodi is ceramic”, represented by exhibitions, conventions and initiatives. On the premises of the convention hall Bipielle City of Lodi will be presented the project which has not less than 4 exhibitions planned: “Le ceramiche dell’Associazione Italiana Città della ceramica”; “Omaggio alla ceramica doc di Lodi”; “Terre di ceramica tradizioni e innovazioni lombarde”; Opere del concorso nazionale 2004 “Lodi fa ceramica”. “Milan and Ceramic” in Osaka In the next month of October the Milanese ceramists will be in Osaka at the Japan Ceramic, the most important Japanese exhibition as far as artistic ceramic is concerned. The area dedicated to the guest nation, in the past edition it was France,

The exhibition, entitled “Milan and Ceramic - Shapes and Colours of the Ceramists of the Province of Milan”, shows works of twenty Milanese ceramists, chosen depending on the most significant techniques and shapes, in order to give a profile of what the artisan workshops of a big city may express. The main purposes of the project are three: exploiting the artistic ceramic tradition of the Province of Milan abroad; supporting the Milanese ceramists on the potentially “strong” markets in order to boost the production and find new commercial outlets; promoting the exchange of project experiences between the Milanese craftsmen and the Japanese ones. At the end of the event the exposition will be guest of the Gallery of Kyoto Traditional Arts&Crafts,
