Starting in the late ‘70s when he took his first professional brewery (not brewing) job at San Francisco’s Anchor Brewing Company, Doug Odell spent most of his time there scrubbing the mash tun. After his time at Anchor, Doug moved to Seattle where he continued to homebrew, perfected some recipes, and met his wife Wynne. While honeymooning in the U.K., Doug and Wynne were inspired by the many small breweries that were successfully selling flavorful real ale, and decided they wanted to take Doug’s passion commercial. Take a tour, learn about the rest of Doug’s story, and taste some of craft brewing’s best beers! Lunch will be on your own before the tour at a local restaurant. Walking Level: Moderate

Life Skills Belle of the Hall "Classy is when a gal has everything to flaunt but chooses not to show it." Despite our current culture's call to show it all, we want our young ladies to be belles of the hall. This class is designed to put our gals on the right path and control the message their appearance and behaviors present. We go through school hallway etiquette, dressing for success, personal hygiene, what you wear and what it says, maintaining a school/home balance, skills, and, most of all, why all of that matters. Think MTV’s P!nk meets Audrey Hepburn, meets Sandy from "Grease." Class includes: snack, take-away, and parent tips.

Play-Well TEKnologies Camp Level up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO parts! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects, such as gear cars, gondolas, merry-go-rounds, and scissor lifts. Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. There are no prerequisites for this course.

Classes Competent Cooking Statistics show that one-in-three teens going into college don't know how to boil an egg, and one in five cannot make toast. (YES, TOAST). This class makes sure your child isn't one of them. We teach the very basics of real-world survival in the kitchen, which includes food prep, preparing simple meals, cleaning up, and food storage. Trust me, if you have a teen who thinks that Ramen is one of the food groups, that lattes only come from Starbucks, or that butter and margarine are the same thing, they need this class. Both guys and gals welcome. Class includes: all supplies, snacks, a dose of confidence, and tips for parents. Location: Kitchen, Windsor CRC

We are going to teach them about typical household cleaning products and what each one is used for, as well as practice the right way to use those previously elusive pieces of cleaning equipment. Plunger anyone? Where is the vacuum? Having self-confidence and pride in taking care of their space before they leave the home is HUGE, and it begins here! The Suave Sparkplug Chivalry is not dead. And if it is, then this is the class to revive it. The Savvy Sparkplug believes in charm and propriety, and thinks that nothing is more impressive than a guy who gets it and exhibits that everywhere he goes. We’ll go old school with our young guys on grooming and appearance, etiquette, how to tie a necktie, how to act on a date, and, most of all, why it all matters. We’ll raise the standard and watch them rise to the occasion watching how they speak to one another, how they take care of themselves, and how they contribute to the world around them as Suave Sparkplugs. Class includes: snack, take-away, supplies, and tips for parents. Location: Oak Room, Windsor CRC Age: Grades 6 - 12 Registration Deadline: Two days prior

Culture Cooking Hearty Greens for Body and Soul

Sprouting 101

Leafy greens are a nutritional powerhouse that pack a punch of aesthetics, flavor, and versatility at the same time. They can be deliciously sautéed and combined with a multitude of spices, grains, beans, and other proteins.

Compared with other foods, sprouts are highly bioavailable. This means your body can easily absorb them and use them for energy. They are also rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and phytochemicals. Local food educator Sapna Von Reich will show you how to sprout seeds, legumes, and grains in a mason jar.

Football Flag Football The Windsor Flag Football league’s focus is to teach fundamentals of football in a team setting. To promote equal team competition, players should attend an assessment date. Players will be assessed on basic football skills and athleticism, and will be placed on teams according to skill level and grade. Participants will learn football fundamentals with the exception of tackling or blocking (non-contact league) with an emphasis of equal participation with winning being secondary. Teams play 5 vs. 5 and are scheduled for six games with an end of season playoff if scheduling constraints permit. Coaches wanted: This program relies on parent volunteers to coach. It’s sad when kids miss out on the action because of a coaching shortage. Please contact us if you are willing to coach. Coaches get to pick their own practice schedule. Call 970-674-3515 for more information. Location: Practices and games are held in Windsor during weekday evenings. Some age groups may play games in the Fort Collins Flag Football League if less than a minimum of 30 players are registered for that division.

Flag Assessments: Teams are formed through the player assessment process in an effort to create balanced teams. Players and coaches should attend the assessment day to be assigned to a team. Assessments will be held at Chimney Park at 5:30 p.m. on the following dates: •

Tuesday, March 20: K - 1 Grade

Wednesday, March 21: 2 - 3 Grade

Thursday, March 22: 4 - 5 Grade and 6 -8 Grade

Requests: Coaches select their team through the assessment process, therefore, requests cannot be guaranteed for a child to be placed on a specific team, with a specific coach, on a specific practice day, or with another player. Mandatory Coaches Meeting: March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Windsor CRC. Practices: Practices begin the week of March 26, one hour each, two times per week. After assessments, a coach will contact you with your practice schedule. Practices can occur between 4:30 – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at the coach’s discretion. Games: Occur in Windsor on weekday evenings. Games start week of April 9. Teams are scheduled for six games, but are dependent upon the spring weather.
