Select the P mode–Programmed Auto Exposure– it’s almost like point-and-shoot, but you control it by changing the ISO. Think of ISO like film speed (for those baby boomers who know and used film). You don’t have to know any other settings or what they do. However, your pictures are instantly better and more in your control. How great is that?! After producing better pictures, the photographer will get more satisfaction from experience and gain confidence to explore the craft of photography further. Photography training may be the second most important gift to give a photography newbie for Christmas. It’s personal, thoughtful, and oh, so welcome!
All digital images must be enhanced. While free programs are available, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (yes, that’s not a typo) are the industry standard for enhancing and manipulating your images. It’s a subscription and can be purchased online from Adobe.
