16 Beneath the boundless Supramonte Vittorio Crobu The latest explorations carried out in S’Orale ‘e Su Mudrecu cave (named also VPF) are reported. VPF is located in the Flumineddu river, a karst canyon in Supramonte of Urzulei (Nuoro, Sardinia). From the bottom at 340 meters deep, the explorers have ascended an underground river with several sumps, some of them passed by free dive; after this exploration VPF cave has become 4657 meters long. Together with many other caves in the outskirts VPF is a branch of a karst system that leads to the big spring Su Gologone near Oliena.

30 Hot summers to Inverno Francesco Maurano, Berardino Bocchino, Gaetano Proietto The Grava d’Inverno, located in the Alburni Mounts (Salerno, Campania), is a cave explored many years ago used for training and caving courses until now. By chance last summer during a descent, at 120 m deep from the entrance, a new big passages have been discovered. These new explorations bring cave from 450 meters to 1400 meters long; the depth remains the same: -210 meters.

36 Corfino & Soraggio Giampaolo Mariannelli In this article the author give the geological and hydrogeological settlement of Pania of Corfino and Ripa Mt carst consisting of two calcareous mountains very close to the Apuane Alps (Lucca, Tuscany) is presented. The article also gives the history of the speleological explorations and the description of the most important caves as well as those with archaeological interest.

44 Back to “i Vucculi” of Muro Lucano Luca Dragone, Giacinto Cosimo Gentile, Dino Grassi, Giuseppe Mauro, Angelo Miccoli Some hydrogeological investigations and a new 3D survey have been carried out in the karstic system of the Vucculi cave and Volpe cave, located in Marmo Platano mount (Muro Lucano, Basilicata). The cave of Vucculi is 1347 meters long for -124 meters depth, Volpe is 446 meters long and -84 meters deep. The study enquires about the groundwater flow through the two caves; the final spring has been found in the deep Iene valley.

51 Luca Kralj pothole Luciano Filipas, Gianluca De Pretis A new pothole 304 m deep found by the “Commissione Grotte “E. Boegan” on the “classical Karst” of Trieste has become the third deepest cave of the area. This paper narrates the history of exploration and describes the morphological features of the cave. The pothole is dedicated to a cave worker who lived in 19th century.

66 Prehistoric caves of Ethiopia Carlo Cavanna A synthesis of 20 years of speleo-archeological research carried out by the Maremmana Natural Speleological Society of Grosseto in South Ethiopia is given. In this country the Society of Grosseto have documented and explored many caves with high prehistoric interest. Here the author tells the exploration of Ulluco cave near Loma Bosa, city located 300 km south of Addis Abeba. Twelve others important prehistoric caves are also described.

61 Marbles of Patagonia mainland Michele Sivelli Report on a trip carried out in Patagonia near the General Carrera lake (Chile, Department of Aisen). Some karst areas in marble rocks have been investigated in the Rio Norte valley and Panichine island where several small caves have been explored.
