oice of Provincial Peace be with you! “Jesus, the Crucified One, is risen!” Jesus - alive and not a ghost - stood among His disciples who witnessed with incredulous eyes His greeting, “Peace be with you!” …May our hearts truly be opened as we welcome the Easter message, “Peace be with you!,” especially in these times where we are witnessing the opposite, an Easter marked by war where so many have died and violence continues. As we remember all our brothers and sisters who have had to seek shelter from the bombs, this tragic reality can make it difficult to really believe Jesus is truly risen, that life overcomes the death… Only the Lord can bring us true peace. “As we contemplate those glorious wounds, our incredulous eyes open wide; our hardened hearts break open and we welcome the Easter message: “Peace be with you!” Let us allow the peace of Christ our homes, our countries!

BETWEEN PAIN AND HOPE We are witnesses to a living Gethsemane and Calvary. Let us hope also to see the ‘Resurrection’ of this country and its people.
My dear friends, readers of the Salesian Bulletin around the world, As I write these lines to you, the media worldwide are giving, minute by minute, almost instantaneous news of the terrible war that is taking place in Ukraine. I am convinced that the vast majority of the Russian people do not want to do harm anyone. Indeed, I think that most of us agree in describing what is happening in that land blessed by God as being terrible, unimaginable, and unbelievable in the 21st century, calling it total madness and true genocide. The thought of how we would feel if we were living that reality must, I suppose, fill us with sadness and shake us.
The sad reality is that, yet again, evil makes noise, destroys things and people, brings death, skews human lives, fractures families, etc. The good—so much good and solidarity—that we are witnessing even while rockets and long-range projectiles fall, is all done silently. This good tries to mitigate the pain, dry the tears, and provide human warmth. The human heart is capable of this, too. In situations such as these, we see the worst of human nature and the greatest beauty of the human heart simultaneously. We are witnesses to a living Gethsemane and Calvary. Let us hope also to see
the Resurrection of this country and its people. This very thing happened during that first “Holy Week” —with those who betrayed Jesus and in His pain, death sentence, silence, and radical loneliness. “Were it not for His Mother and the Beloved Disciple, He would have been totally abandoned.” However, God had the last Word: the Resurrection, the “Other-Life.” I do not know what this Easter Season will bring with the war in Ukraine. I am writing in advance, and things change from day-to-day. I trust that Peace will come with
reasonableness, pressure from almost all nations, and the strength of human solidarity, and faith and prayer. As I write this greeting, we are on day 10 of this terrible war that has displaced a million and a half people. While this is true, I want to underline that the solidarity, fraternity, and humanity of simple hearts and families, in addition to the response of many governments, are the things that help me feel better about being a human being. If it were not for these realities, I don’t think we could forgive ourselves.
Our little grain of sand
I am in daily contact with our Confreres and Sisters in Ukraine and Poland. It gives me great peace to know that, as a Salesian Family, we are also offering our little grain of sand. I am happy to hear that the young people welcomed into our group home in Lviv are also welcomed in Salesian houses in Slovakia. It gives me peace to know that the Salesian houses on the border between Poland and Ukraine have all opened their doors to take in those displaced by the war. Dozens of mothers and their children have been offered food, rooms, and places to live in dignity. Acts of solidarity such as these are also coming from other nations and many other Salesian presences. Indeed, help is arriving from all over the Salesian world and all the provinces, regardless of size, according to each one’s possibilities. We are acting as the channel for sending monetary donations and shipments of medical supplies to the most remote places, thus bringing help to people who need it most. Albeit a grain of sand, we are tens of thousands of people and institutions who are helping the cause.

I ask the Lord of Life in prayer to help us come to our senses —especially for those who have created this tragedy. I ask that Peace win. I ask that hearts filled with true humanity not be silent. May we do whatever each of us can, dear friends. Let’s join efforts with our voices, our helping hands, and our prayers. May the Risen Lord fill us with His Strength and His Peace. Prayer for Peace
All is done in silence—not “making noise” like the bad news—without advertisement, just in solidarity and in simplicity. It is time to move from Gethsemane and Calvary to the hope and strength of the Resurrection. It is very painful that, in this preparation for Holy Week and the Holy Solemnity of Easter, bombs, bullets, rifles, and death are present. Even amid this pain, I do not stop proclaiming that life is stronger, human fraternity is stronger, solidarity is stronger, the dignity of the person is stronger even April 2022

Hotel, Pattani, welcomed Their Excellencies Ms. Sibille de Cartier d’Yves, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Jean-Paul Senninger, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Mr. Remco Van Wijngaarden, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They visited the Archangel Gabriel Church and Charoensri Suksa School - Pattani. They were warmly received by the school administrators and the teachers.

วันที่ 25 มีนาคม 2022 เวลา 18.00 น บิชอปโยเซฟ ประธาน ศรีดารุณศีล น�ำการอวยพรศีลมหาสนิทและภาวนา ถวายประเทศยูเครนและรัสเซียแด่ดวงหทัยนิรมลของพระนางมารีย์ ร่วมกับสมาชิกซาเลเซียนซึง่ ก�ำลังเข้าเงียบอยูท่ บี่ า้ นฟืน้ ฟูจิตใจซาเลเซียน อ.หัวหิน จ.ประจวบฯ On 25 March 2022, at 18.00 hrs., Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil led the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and the prayer of consecration of Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The salesian confreres in their annual spiritual retreat joined him in this service at the Salesian Retreat House, Huahin, Prachuabkhirikhan Province.

วันที่ 4-10 เมษายน 2022 วัดแม่พระองค์อุปถัมภ์ อ.พนม จ.สุราษฎร์ฯ น�ำโดยคุณพ่อนพพร ยอแซฟ เจ้าอาวาสได้จัดค่าย ค�ำสอนภาคฤดูรอ้ น ในหัวข้อ “ทูตแห่งสันติ” ให้กบั เด็กๆ ในเขตวัด จ�ำนวน 43 คน โดยมีทีมผู้จัดค่ายประกอบไปด้วยซิสเตอร์คณะ ผู้รับใช้ 4 คน คณะซาเลเซียน 3 คน บราเดอร์ของสังฆมณฑล สุราษฎร์ฯ 2 คน ครูค�ำสอน 5 คน และพี่เลี้ยงจ�ำนวน 7 คน
วันที่ 4-8 เมษายน 2022 วัดนักบุญยอแซฟ ถ�ำ้ สิงห์ จ.ชุมพร น�ำโดยคุณพ่อประเสริฐ สมงาม เจ้าอาวาส ได้จัดค่ายค�ำสอน ภาคฤดูรอ้ น ในหัวข้อ “ด้วยหัวใจของบิดา” ให้กบั เด็กๆ ในเขตวัด จ�ำนวน 30 คน โดยมีครูคำ� สอนสามเณรและเยาวชนเป็นทีมงาน จัดค่ายดังกล่าว

วันที่ 14-16 เมษายน 2022 วัดแม่พระประจักษ์เมืองลูร์ด หาดใหญ่ จ.สงขลา จัดสอนค�ำสอนภาคฤดูร้อนในรูปแบบ ออนไลน์ อันเนื่องมาจากสถานการณ์โควิด 19 ให้กับเด็กๆ ในเขตวัด โดยในภาคเช้าเป็นการเรียนออนไลน์ ส่วนในภาคบ่าย และค�่ำให้เด็กๆ มาร่วมพิธีกรรมสัปดาห์ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่วัด
From 14-16 April 2022, Lourdes Parish Church, Hatyai, Songkhla Province, organized the summer catechism for the children of the parish OnLine due to the still ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The morning sessions were spent for catechetical instructions, while at the afternoon and evening sessions, the children were invited to join the liturgical services of the Holy Week at the Church.
วันที่ 8 เมษายน 2022 บิชอปฟรังซิสเซเวียร์ วีระ อาภรณ์รัตน์ เป็นประธานในพิธีบูชาขอบพระคุณปลงศพของยอแซฟ ฝุ่งซาน แซ่ชื้อ พร้อมกับบิชอป ยอห์น บอสโก ปัญญา กฤษเจริญ คุณพ่อ เทพรัตน์ ปิติสันต์ สมาชิกซาเลเซียน บรรดาบาดหลวง ซิสเตอร์ คณะผู้รับใช้ฯ และบรรดาสัตบุรุษ ณ วัดนักบุญยอแซฟกรรมกร จ.แพร่ อนึง่ ยอแซฟ ฝุง่ ซาน แซ่ชอื้ (บิดาของคุณพ่อมีคาแอล SDB, ซ.มีนา และซ.สุภา อดุลย์เกษม SIHM) กลับไปยังบ้านพระบิดา เมื่อวันที่ 5 เมษายน 2022 สิริอายุ 99 ปี 8 เดือน On 8 April 2022, Bishop Francis Xavier Vira Aphornrat presided at the funeral Mass of Joseph Fungsan Saesue. He was assisted by Bishop John Bosco Panya Kritcharoen of Ratchaburi Diocese and Fr. Dheparat Pitisant, salesian provincial. Other salesian confreres, diocesan priests and Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the faithful of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Phrae Province, were also present.

ประวัติ ภราดา อาร์เตมีเด ซัตตี เกิด : 12 ตุลาคม 1880 ที่ Boretto ประเทศอิตาลี เมื่ออายุ 17 ปี ครอบครัวได้อพยพ ไปที่เมือง Bahia Blanca ประเทศอาร์เจนตินา และที่นี่เองท่านได้ก้าวเข้าสู่โลกซาเลเซียน ปฏิญาณตนครั้งแรก : 11 มกราคม 1908 ปฏิญาณตนตลอดชีวิต : 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 1911 สิ้นใจ : 15 มีนาคม 1951 บุญราศี : 14 เมษายน 2002 โดยโป๊ปยอห์น ปอล ที่ 2
