Pori Airshow

On the 18th of June I attended the annual Pori Airshow. The weather that morning was rather dark and gloomy as it was raining which made it a little difficult to capture quality photos with better lighting, but I managed since I was not alone and my company would hold an umbrella while I snapped a few good photos and keep the camera dry. About an hour in I decided to leave to get some warm food since it was too cold to stay out too long in and luckily in that time the sun came out and started shining! More people were there than before when I arrived back at the venue; by the large hangar there were many food stalls with a few shop stalls one even had kites for sale and about 5 kites freely flowing above. Along one of the runways there was many different planes and helicopters of different shapes, colors and sizes. As well as some airforce members from other European countries near their planes or helicopters they had brought to the airshow. The airshow itself was a sight to behold since this was my first time ever going to something like this (sure I have ridden in a helicopter before but it paled in comparison). Watching the swiss airforce aerobatic team along side so many others there in different formations shooting off flares now and then was truly incredible. It was an expirience I will never forget!

Fouga CM 170 Magister (FM-37) Valmistusmaa: Ranska Ensilento: 23.7.1952 Suomen Ilmavoimat päättivät hankkia kahdeksan Fougaa 23.11.1958. Ensimmäiset kolme konetta lennettiin Suomeen jo 19.12.1958 ja viimeinen kahdeksasta tilatusta 15.4.1959. Viimeisen lennon lensi FM-45 19.12.1988. Eniten lensi FM-42, 5 008 tuntia.

F-35A Lightning II Valmistusmaa: Yhdysvallat Ensilento: 15.12.2006 Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II on yhdysvaltalainen, yksipaikkainen, yksimoottorinen, joka sään monitoimihäivehävittäjä, joka on tarkoitettu sekä ilmaherruus- että pommitustehtäviin.

F/A-18 Hornet Valmistusmaa: Yhdysvallat Ensilento:18.11.1983 McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet on yhdysvaltalaisen McDonnell Douglasin (nykyään Boeing) valmistama kaksimoottorinen hävittäjä ja rynnäkkökone. F/A-18A ja C ovat yksipaikkaisia malleja, ja F/A-18B ja D kaksipaikkaisia.

Northrop F-5E Tiger II Valmistusmaa: Yhdysvallat Ensilento: 11.8.1959 Northrop kehitti F-5:n pohjalta myöhemmin muun muassa YF-17 Cobra -hävittäjän, joka puolestaan toimi lähtökohtana F/A-18 Hornetin suunnittelussa.
