Glyph

The specific shape, design or representation of a character.

Type Setting

Composition of text by means of type.

Font Family:

<family-name> Name of font family of choice Eg: Gill, Helvetica <generic-name> The last value is the generic family name Eg: Serif, sans serif, cursive, fantasy, monoscape

Mono scape:

All glyhps have same width

Cursive:

Joint strokes, connected

Fantasy:

Leading:

The distance between the baselines of successive lines of type.

Kerning:

The spcae between two letters in a word.

Tracking:

Letter-spacing, usually called tracking by typographers, refers to a consistent degree of increase (or sometimes decrease) of space between letters to affect density in a line or block of text.

EXERCISE 4 LOGO DESIGN LOGO

A graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organisations and even individuals to aid and produce and instant public recognition. It could be purely graphic or compsed of name or organisation.

Subject organisation: Cafe 6 A casual balcony cafe overlooking Hauz Khas road which is a common place for young adults who stop by for snacks after college or office. Serves fast food-American,Italian,North Indian. Located in an area with a lot of rental residents so full course meals are also available.

Developing bussiness stationery for chosen organisation keping in mind the identity of the place. Letterhead Visiting Card Envelope

OBJECTIVE

Understanding how different placements of logo can enhance the visual appearance of the organisation’s outgoing stationery.

LETTERHEAD

A letterhead is the heading at the top of a sheet of letter paper (stationery). That heading usually consists of a name and an address, and a logo or corporate design, and sometimes a background pattern. The term “letterhead” is often used to refer to the whole sheet imprinted with such a heading.

VISITING CARD

A visiting card, also known as a calling card, is a small paper card with one’s name printed on it, and often bearing an artistic design. A company is usually remembered by its visiting card as it is the most basic form of handout.
