Welcome-Luna lunch to celebrate 45 Years It's been a hard road for Kay and Phillip Yuen, the owners of one of Molong's oldest businesses in Bank Street. But no complaints from this lovely Hong-Kong-born couple who over the past 45 years have seen it all in Molong. Most recently, they worked through the November 2022 flood, and now street works in Bank Street - and somehow keep opening their doors over long hours to provide food to residents, visitors and tourists. Let's celebrate Chinese New Year, and the couple's 45 years of residency and business in Bank Street, with Kay and Phillip
of the Wing Hang on Sunday, 3 March @ 12 noon with a special smorgasbord of delicious foods. Organised by the Molong Express to celebrate and to help this couple who have never given up on Molong. Let's show we care. for them. Please join us - $35 per person - bring your partner, your friends, neighbours, family, work colleagues for this special community thank you event to show our support to the couple who never, ever give up and ask for nothing in return! Steady growth brings tourism rewards
Molong is not being left behind in attracting visitors and tourists to town. With a steady growth in various events our town has become a key attraction for tourists in the Central West region. What we are doing is slow, steady growth - and in keeping with the attractions, businesses and accommodation available. We're working with what we are and what we have to offer. That's smart! Sustainability is the word in tourism and Molong is providing a good example of how a small town with limited resources can provide, attract, grow and live within our means (so to speak). Our tourism growth is in fact 'sustainable' in the long-term. That's smart! For example, the Molong Village Markets, supported by Molong Advancement Group and Cabonne Council, attracts up to 3,000 people at each of the three key events each year. Held on the long weekends of Easter, winter, spring/summer, up to 200 keen stall holders set up at the rec grounds for each event. Not forgetting the Molong Christmas Shopping night -again supported by MAG and Cabonne Council - an event that attracts over 1,000 people to bolster local businesses and economy. This was just one of more than 20 Christmas events held across Cabonne last year. Successfully! Each year the fast growing Central West Disc Golf volunteers run a number of key competitions at the showgrounds. This year, the organisers have attracted an International competition in Molong. Wow! The NSW Sheepdog Worker's Incorporated will be back in Molong in March. An important annual event on the NSW working dog championship events attracting entrants and spectators from - well, everywhere. Not forgetting the annual Molong Show that continues to grow, the popularity of the Showground Caravan Park and, when it is operating, the Molong Caravan Park. Then there's the Banjo Paterson Festival events such as Molong Poetry Brawl and Woolshed Muster, supported by MAG/Cabonne Counci. The upgrade and growth of the Molong Historical Museum events including Through the Lens photographic exhibition, ancestry research etc. Another huge success. The Molong Campdraft is another. But wait ... there's more! Individual shops and businesses attract their own clientele from near and far. The business economy may not be growing right
now, but it is stable. One quiet achiever is the Vinnies store in Bank Street - add the Yarn Market, the Molong Motel, the Freemasons and Telegraph Hotels, the RSL Club, local B&B's; local sporting competitions with soccer, footy, hockey (before flood); golf; bowls; croquet; and the list goes on. All successful in attracting visitors/ tourists. 'Steady as she goes' approach to tourism working with what we have - not aiming to hold something that is unsustainable for the town (e.g. limited accommodation); and the growing nightmare of absent landlords leaving their Bank Street buildings visually 'broken'; the visually unappealing and unusable Molong Caravan Park/Camping Grounds; the continuing loss of accommodation at the Freemasons Hotel (15 rooms?); the long-time closure of the Molong Railway Station is now holding Molong back. Whilst this town and community has achieved a strong and sustainable base to grow from - the need to get moving on the 'detractors' list is now urgent. We simply can't afford to carry this year in - year out - negative burden any longer. Readers can probably identify more 'detractors' around town. The good news is that all can be fixed to add to the sustainables list. The Express congratulates MAG, GrowMolong, Cabonne Council, the many entertainment venues, sporting clubs, local shops and busines owners, volunteers, and all who have been steadily helping to 'grow Molong' tourism sector with a sustainable 'steady as she grows' approach. People Power at its best!

Molong and District residents have come forward in BIG numbers to debate the best usage of their land and the wider landscape of this area. The Express is pleased to see this debate happening - rather than accepting government policies (at all levels) silently. "We care about where we live" has aroused people power. Can the proposed Kerr's Creek Wind Farm arrive at a balanced approach in this area able to accommodate one group's agribiz, lifestyle choices, traditional ownership of holdings, AND support agribiz choices/lifestyle choices. As well as to provide the opportunities and benefits for the diversification of farm income, and acceptance for what is needed, in today's economic landscape for traditional holdings. See previous week's Molong Express for the story. There should not be neighbour pitted against neighbour, families divided, people not happy with each other in this wider community. It is, an all government responsibility to ensure that rural people - are not turned against each other in their (Govt’s) policy directions. Question: Does the Albanese Government have the right policies and community support in place to meet the pledge made to the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDS) under the Paris Agreement? This is, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 43 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 and to put Australia on track to achieve net zero emission by 2050?? People Power should be asking "at what cost to rural communities?"
Question: GrowMolong Flood Mitigation is a fast moving (and about time!) initiative showing the strength of 'People Power' in addressing/solving the long standing issue of the flooding of Molong. A gutsy move by a small group who have been affected by the continuing - and greater destruction of the local waterway (and stormwater). (See last week's Express for the story). Molong residents face a more than serious future of the flooding continuing - and to worsen. As does the wider district who lose homes, buildings, stock, fencing, properties when this happens. t Worsening? Yes. And, this is an OH&S, lack of Duty of Care issue not failing to be accepted by a series of governments at all levels, as the effects of Climate Change becoming more understood. Plus the continuing effect of a town continuing to 'host' a diverted creek, as well as the problems of past land and housing planning issues of the past. Readers, if you care about your town, your region, the environment we choose to live in, and protecting where we live, run businesses (of all kinds), our families - and the right of future generations to live in a safer, better place with opportunities - please get behind and hear all opinions, on these two local issues. Be prepared to fairly debate the issues, listen to each other, be prepared to clash in beliefs and personalities, in order to come up with a consensus. Join in the 'people power' movement (all sides of the debates), be involved. Debate hard.
Letter to the Editor See more letters P.9 An ill wind (turbine) blows no good I wonder how much more farmers must be on the receiving end of vegan activists, ideological and unworkable government regulations, industrial wind turbines and industrial solar instillations in rural communities, not having a voice politically and being disconnected from our consumers who would love to know how their food is being grown and how we are looking after their nation before we start to work as a team. I went to a community meeting last night about a proposed Industrial Wind Turbine development in a neighboring district, about 100 farmers present with two in favor of the development. It seems the only ones for these developments are inner city teal voters, people who have just signed up to have them on their properties and people who are trying to sell their properties which have industrial turbines on them. Even at a ratio of 98 opposed and two in favor it did not take long for emotions to begin to run high. It is disturbing to see close knit rural communities fighting, the companies who are set to get filthy rich from these schemes must be loving the disharmony. If we had to get back to basics to find common ground we may have to go back to ask if they are Patriotic and do they love Australia. When looking objectively at an industrial wind turbine project into a rural community we should ask if it is the right thing to do by Australia and its people. If turbines were going to have a positive effect on the economic, social and environment of Australia I would be all for them, but they are not and fail terribly on every level. The turbines themselves are completely overseas made, our government is sending $1.6 billion dollars of our money a year off-shore to foreign-owned wind and solar developers. For every wind turbine that is operation it takes approximately $500,000 per year in subsidies to keep it operating. Our 600 installed turbines are costing the taxpayers $300 million dollars a year, every year. Wind turbines and solar panels are not renewable, in fact very little of them is economically recyclable. Politicians follow the whim of society, in the years ahead society may say they have had enough of these ineffective generators and stop subsidizing them. The mess will then have to be cleaned up by the farmers, we cannot be so naïve to think the companies are going to honor any agreement to do so. The company you have an agreement with will either be sold to a shelf company or you will be fighting a multi-national in a court room

of some other nation of their choosing. So-called renewables can not reduce the cost of energy. Base load energy can not be secured with wind or solar having to be backed-up with a full standby fossil fuel power generation system. Up to seven times more mining is required per kilowatt of energy produced by 'renewables' than from fossil fuel generated kilowatts. High pressure systems becalm the Australian continent for long periods, windy nights are not effective because the power demand is not there, cloudy winters make solar worthless and battery technology is deficient. Wind and solar are not carbon neutral, it is mathematically impossible for them to ever generate enough power in their lifetime to cover the carbon it takes for manufacture, construction, operation and decommission. Ecologically they both are a blight on the landscape, wind turbines cause mass deaths of birdlife, the turbines de-energise the air resulting in less rainfall on the lee side of the instillations. Solar farms emit black-body radiation which results in hotter summers, colder winters and exacerbated weather phenomena's such as thunderstorms and tornadoes. It is said that 'those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.' You do not have to go far back to see what an environmental, social, and economic disaster the so-called renewables have been in every single nation that has embarked on this unscientific, emotive, and ideological scam. Google the disaster the American wind and solar farms have been. Thousands of acres of dilapidated solar panels leaching poison into the environment, failed wind turbines in the tens of thousands. The wind turbines which are decommissioned are buried enmasse as the blades are not recyclable, the toxic waste from decomposing composite blades is now making it into the American water table. Solar panels produce 300 times more waste per kilowatt produced than nuclear. Until farmers get into collectives and stand up for ourselves, we are going to continue to be victims of our own independence. We can rise above independence to a stronger and better place of interdependence. Interdependence does not take farmers away from our fierce independence, it allows us to work as a team to make our community stronger and better for us and future generations. That is what www. onfarm.co was built for and its there for you to sign up and use for free. George King Carcoar.

Calling all artists
by JOY ENGLEMAN
This year - 2024 - is shaping up to be a year of rebuilding and restoration. After four years of slowdown and lockups, my mind is beginning to see a bright future ahead. As an artist and explorer of the outback, I found it depressing indeed to be unable to roam the landscape I love freely. It was a challenge to be inspired however, I managed a few milestones but a lot of 'connections' were lost. My outback travels over my life have helped me see clearly the problems we face and I have tried to gently bring attention to these over my arts career. My environmental artworks were exhibited in Mexico, Italy and Canada along with Bathurst and Orange Regional Galleries in invitation only exhibitions over recent years. The theme I pursue and has been close to my heart has been an exploration of climate issues and the environmental damage we have wrought on the planet. More on my new website. My artworks can now be found at the Gang Gang Gallery in Lithgow, a wonderful space and a delightful Director and curator. Two works are currently in the "Director's Collection' on show until the end of March. I will be holding a workshop on 'Versatile Acrylics' there on 21 March. Bookings need to be made through the gallery. And I am also available from the Peisley Street Gallery in Orange. You can find details of my recent solo show "Drylands - sacred ground" on their website if you missed it and are curious of the
artworks included in that exhibition. Should you wish to purchase any of the works, then please make enquiries to the gallery. Finally, can I say that I believe the world is in danger of falling apart if we don't come back to loving all human beings as equals and as fellow travellers along the road of life. It is time we all shared our differences proudly as we all have relevant pieces in the great puzzle of life. Let us share and care for this earth, our home, together as one family. We'll be heading out for a big road trip later in 2024. This will cross a fair area of the big brown (and red) land we live in and love! If you are interested in joining us, then please let me know. And the big news is ... I have been invited to represent Australia at the largest arts festival in South Korea later in 2024. This is indeed a huge honour and I am proud to be able to accept. The 10th Goeje International Arts Festival will be held in Haegeumgang Museum and Yukyung Art Museum from Sept 1 - Oct 25 2024. So keep an eye on this space! My 2023 exhibition at the Peisley Street Gallery was a wonderful success so thank you to all that came and praised my work! It makes me want to continue painting.... so often we work as artists in a vacuum and unless we show our works, we don't get to share what it is you enjoy and appreciate! The Peisley Street Gallery has some of my works that are still for sale online at https:// thepeisleystgallery.com.au

Molong’s eyesore train station detracting from town’s tourism
ABOVE: The luxurious interior of the Great Souther train, which travelled through Molong recently (pictured below). Why not a stopover in Molong???
Last week when the very expensive touring train, the Great Southern, passed through Molong, we asked: Was it lost? Maybe it was, given the high price the elite passengers paid ($7,000 or more) to travel on this beautifull restored train/carriages. Why pass through the dismal-looking rail station of the of the Molong Railway Station. Particularly when this train and organiser boast about the beautiful stations/towns and regions they travel through? Whilst Molong is a beautiful town where tourism and visitor numbers are rising - our railway station has become more embarassing by the year. Standing idle, empty, infested by rate, mice and possums - hit hard by vandals on a regular basis - Why is Cabonne Council not moving with the new asset managers to secure this building for the community? With the entrepreneurs and innovators in this town and district community - bringing a group of local people together to explore ideas and options for the MRS needs to happen - sooner than later. Located smack bang in the middle of town -
just above the busy highway - the ideas of what could be - are endless. And, each one thus far could add to tourism/visitor numbers currently being achieved by this community. Lachlan Valley Railway group are keen to bring tourist trains to Molong (as they are currently doing across the Central West). Stopovers during the day for passengers/ families to disembark and wander the local CBD for meals, shopping, entertainment can only be a positive. Unfortunately, the asset owner of the MRS will not sign a lease with anyone - or any group in town. It must be with Cabonne Council. Please, Cabonne Council. We want this beautiful heritage listed Molong icon back as a community run venture. Please negotiate with the asset managers and hand it over. Note: Passenger/tourist trains like the Great Southern might be encouraged to make a stopover in Molong (like they do in same size town/villages) throughout their journeys and enjoy dinners, or lunches, shopping, entertainment. Please Cabonne Council the MRS has been standing idle for far too long.

Gladys Hubbard and her ‘home’ team Gladys proud to be wearing her gift from the Penrith Panthers
A true lady and good woman is how the staff and residents of the Molong Health Services refer to 100 year old Gladys Hubbard of Molong (formerly of Euchareena). There would not be enough superlatives the Express team could gather to speak of this special lady. Just a few weeks ago, Gladys placed a special blingy tiara on her head, placed her pearls, and was delighted to wear a silver Birthday Queen sash around her pretty blue and white dress to head to a delicious morning tea with her family, friends, carers and fellow residents of the the Molong Multi-Purpose Centre’s, Yuranigh House. MPS Manager, Deb. Kenna spoke glowingly of Gladys reaching her 100th birthday and celebrating the day at the centre. The wife of the late Ted. Hubbard (mother of Allan and Frank, mother-in-law and grandmother), the young newly wed couple moved to “Mount Top” a merino sheep property at Euchareena. They lived on the family farm until their retirement to Molong where they enjoyed their new townhouse in the UPA Centre in Hill Street. With the same community spirit they had given to the Euchareena and district communities during their farming days
and raising their sons - both Gladys and Ted were welcomed to Molong where they were seen taking part in HealthOne walking groups, and participating in local events. At her birthday celebration, Gladys received a special package from her favourite footy team, the Penrith Panthers. Wearing the scarf and cap and club colours, the keen fan then showed the Express a framed poster print (signed and messaged by Nathan Cleary) to the loyal Molong supporter. Other messages included from King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Governor General, Andrew Gee MP and Phil Donato MP. “I am lucky to be living here (Yuranigh House)” said Gladys. “Deb and the staff, the GP’s are all wonderful. They all look after us very well” said a grateful Gladys. Then again, as a ‘lady’ with a gentle and caring soul - the Express noted when a staff member came and asked where Gladys would like to be served her lunch - in her room or the dining room - she responded “what will be the most convenient for you?” The country woman’s manners Gladys is gifted with! Happy 100th Birthday Gladys
Gladys former Hill Street neighbours and friends, Jean Brown and Shirley Philpott enjoyed sharing the special day.
Happy 100th birthday to Molong’s Birthday Queen photographed with son, Frank.
Loved by all and the hospital team, Gladys enjoying her day (and 2 birthday cakes).
Two of the remarkable team members, (right) Deb Kenna, MPS Manager, and Shelly Moor (who retires and then returns when needed) together with Julie James and others - always prepared to give more out of their day to ensure total quality care to both patients of the MPS and residents of Yuranigh House. The weekend before, both extended their working week to cook, serve, clean for the patients and residents (all weekend). Well done to these kind, professional and very caring, loyal and respectful good women. MOLONG EXPRESS, Thursday 29 February 2024 7
2024 Boree Cabonne Woolshed Muster For the second year, the Boree Cabonne Woolshed History Muster was a full house ... and with good reason. The heat did not deter more than 100 people attending the muster as part of the Banjo Paterson Festival. The rustic, but renovated shearing shed of the historic woolshed was perfect setting for bush music, poetry and a sumptious afternoon tea. Presented by the Molong Historic Society, the crowd was entertained with the original prose of local poets including this year’s Molong Poetry Brawl winner David Stanley, and last year’s Cargo Cup winner John Watkins who travelled from Queensland for the event. The crowd favouite was the comedic stylings of Lightning Ridge local, Sue Carcary, who got the crowd laughing and participating - even with her own rendition of the famous poem Maltzing Watilda (sic). The packed afternoon also featured music performed by Geoff Tonkin, and tours of the 1800s original shed were conducted by past resident Mary MacSmith, who remembered playing and later helping with shearing as a child. People travelled from Forbes, Carcoar, Orange and local villages for the event.

Molong residents show the way with 'people power' - Flood Mitigation and Wind Farm LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.
This week...Voice of Cabonne, GrowMolong, local residents/ratepayers views Dear Editor, "Can I say that I believe the world is in danger of falling apart if we don't come back to loving all human beings as equals and as fellow travellers along the road of life. It is time we all shared our differences proudly as we all have relevant pieces in the great puzzle of life. Let us share and care for this earth, our home, together as one family." Joy Engleman Artist, Environmentalist, Philosopher and former Molong resident Dear Editor Last week we attended the ‘Voice of Cabonne’ community meeting on the “Kerr’s Creek Wind Farm” proposal. Having considered all of the information put forward by the ‘Voice of Cabonne’ as well as the view of RES (the planning company for the Wind Farm) amply put forward by a couple of the wind turbines hosts; we urge Cabonne Council to step up and oppose it, oppose the destruction of place and the tearing apart of your community. Do not sit back and just let this happen without a fight. Note: Not one cent of compensation is earmarked for your shire! Whilst not opposed to renewables, we believe that this proposed energy plant is far too industrial for the site they have earmarked. The monstrous wind turbines, standing at 254m high, will be completely out of place in an area where a large number of the affected residents sit on some of the states most valuable agricultural and productive land, mostly in Cabonne Shire. The whole of the Kerr’s Creek project sits within the Dubbo Council area and just outside the Cabonne boundary on much less fertile and productive land. Dubbo Council has a much higher minimum land holding area than Cabonne and other projects either, already constructed or about to be, do not affect anywhere near the numbers of residents and ratepayers as this project. Governments need to step in and demand larger buffer zones around these projects, particularly ones of this industrial size. We ask Cabonne Council to urge planning authorities to act on a local basis in relation to buffer zones. Those gathered at the meeting also heard that the BOM advise that the wind factor is at the lower end of suitability, which would not be ideal for a ‘wind’ power plant. Geographic suitability is essential to optimize energy output. A lot of taxpayers’ money is being used to subsidize renewables. We need to demand no waste! We also heard, these projects are set up by offshore companies, then on sold to a shelf company, largely foreign owned. The district and landholders may have no protection for decommission of the wind farm at the end of life in 30 years’ time. We understand that several Cabonne councillors were present at last weeks’ Molong meeting and would have gauged the level of concern from the effected landholders. Whilst Dubbo Council seems hell bent on a cash grab and prepared to impose these projects on their rate payers in the outer extremities of their territory, Cabonne Council needs to stand up for Cabonne ratepayers and residents who will bear the full brunt of this project both during construction and for the next 30 years whilst this close knit community bears the brunt of the awful strain and divisiveness. Kerrie and Don MacDonald Molong
As a result of the information the Express requested and gained from the proposed developer (RES Renewable Energy Services) of the Kerr's Creek Wind Farm, and following the Voice of Cabonne organised meeting at the Molong RSL Monday night 19 March 2024 - the Express has this week sent another list of questions raised at that meeting to RES. We are hoping to publish the questions and answer in next week's Express 7 March 2024.
Kerr's Creek Industrial Power Plant I would like to thank the Voice of Cabonne for hosting a public meeting in Molong last week to raise genuine concerns about the establishment of the Kerrs Creek Industrial Power Plant, otherwise known as a Wind Farm. In 2020 I purchased a 107 hectare vacant farm on the Eurchareena Rd, some 17 kilometres from Molong in the Cabonne Shire. As a young man starting out I decided that my first investment would be a small very productive farm with potential to build a home in time in an area close to family, amenities and community. Whilst the development of this industrial power plant has been floated around for a couple of years, I have never been contacted or approached by anyone connected to it. It seems I now have a front row seat where there will be dozens of 254m high turbines literally only a few kilometres from my boundary fence. The site Dear Editor, The Voice of Cabonne consists of a diverse group of individuals, including generational farmers, business owners, concerned parents, and valued community members who have come together to express their apprehensions about the proposed wind farm project. At the heart of our concerns lies the belief that the cumulative impacts of the wind farm will extend far beyond what has been acknowledged thus far. These impacts include and are not limited to environmental and ecological damage, decrease in property valuations, social and welfare implications and, insurance exposure. While we acknowledge that we may not possess all the necessary expertise in all of the aforementioned areas, we have sought the guidance of professionals with extensive experience in relevant fields to gain a comprehensive understanding of the potential consequences of this industrial development. The recent community meeting held by The Dear Editor, What a response to GrowMolong’s Entirely Molong Project, for probably the first time in Molong’s history. We have you all on the same page with an overwhelming number of business owners, landlords and residents signing up in support. I think we have certainly hit a nerve though, having experienced the amount of anxiety and stress waiting for the next big rain event and the knowledge that many businesses won’t return. Therein lies the huge challenge, TIME, and although processes are in place to advance the procurement of mitigation, the cogs of government, at all levels, and bureaucracy turn
where I was proposing to build my first home will be dominated by these industrial giants. I note in Mudgee the recent successful overtuning of a solar farm project on the edge of town was a good example of a renewable energy project being in the wrong place. This renewable project proposed for the Kerr's Creek area is exactly the same. It's in the wrong place! Just in our little area where Cabonne Council has allowed smaller rural minimum holdings, (unlike Dubbo Council where the project is) there are six land holders of which four currently have residences on just 275 hectares all of which are within 3 kilometres of the nearest 254m tower. I urge Cabonne Council to object to this proposal as it stands on behalf of its affected ratepayers and have this project shifted to a much more suitable and sensible area. Lachlan Godden Molong Voice of Cabonne to address the Kerrs Creek Windfarm proposed project was a significant gathering, bringing together concerned members of the community, council representatives, and even members of parliament including David Littleproud, leader of the National party. During the meeting, both David Littleproud and Sam Faraway acknowledged that there are serious flaws in the legislation and regulation around renewable energy which they are seeking to rectify. We urge each member of our community to stay informed, engage in respectful and constructive dialogue, and work together to ensure that decisions made today will positively shape the future of Cabonne for generations to come. Please register your interest at Voiceforcabonne.com if you would like to receive further communication regarding this development. The Voice of Cabonne so slowly. Our aim is to speed things up, get all levels of Government talking to each other, and thankfully with letters of support already in hand, that is starting to happen. We are starting to recognise what a powerful tool an entire community, although a small one, working and pushing the issues forward onto the front page can achieve, and there is no doubt we must win. Keep smiling and keep the love of our town out there for everyone to see. Les Dean President GrowMolong

A guy goes for an interview : They tell him he's qualified for the job and are prepared to start him with $10,000 pm then raise it to $25,000 after 6 months : He says " I'll come back in 6 months " The Little Kid and The Bus Driver A little kid walks into a city bus and sits right behind the driver. The little kid starts yelling, " If my dad was a bull and my mom a cow I'd be a little bull." The bus driver starts getting mad at the noisy kid, who continued with, "If my dad was an elephant and my mom a girl elephant I would be a little elephant" The kid went on with several animals until the bus driver got angry and yelled at the kid "What if your dad was a dumbass and your mom crazy?!" The kid smiled and said, "I would be a bus driver!" A police officer stops a blonde for speeding and asks her very nicely if he could see her license. She replied in a huff, "I wish you guys could get your act together. Just yesterday you take away my license and then today you expect me to show it to you."

QUICK CROSSWORD
REG’S BENCH There was an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman all sitting having a break on a building site. The Englishman says 'if my wife puts cheese on my sandwiches again I'm going to kill myself' and the Irishman says 'if my wife puts egg on my sandwiches again I will kill myself' and the Scotsman says 'if I find marmite on my sandwiches again I will kill myself'. So sure enough the next day all three open up their lunch boxes and find the sandwich's are all full of cheese, egg and Marmite once again so they all go off to different parts of the site and kill themselves. Later in the week all three men are being buried and the Englishman's wife says "if he didn't want cheese on his sandwiches he should have told me and this wouldn't have happened". Then the Scotsman's wife comes away with the same statement concerning the Marmite sandwiches. Then the Irishman's wife pipe's up "I can't understand this, He make's his own sandwiches."

Sport Molong Golf The Ghostwalker Sunday out at the self proclaimed Royal Molong Golf Course saw ten players for the individual Stableford event for the monthly medal and four players for the two person Ambrose event. There are a couple of players out injured in Paul and Al and a number of players away in Mark, Doug and Mick and Matt and Harry Philpott were nowhere to be seen. Bruno graced us with his presence and along with Stubba, Blue and Bell played the Ambrose event. I believe they only played nine holes and didn’t worry about handing in a card. Stubba apparently doesn’t know how far he can hit a golf ball with his five iron. He reckons he was about one fifty metres out from the green on the sixth fairway which heads up towards Euchareena Road. He put his golf ball over Euchareena Road and about fifty metres into the paddock over the road. He was able to retrieve said golf ball. The eighteen hole individual Stableford event was won easily by Troy Warner with forty points. Back on thirty five points were three players in Scott Oates, Mark Oates and Evo. I think they were the three. Perhaps since it wasn’t me then I mightn’t have been paying attention. This qualifies Troy for the end of year monthly medal playoff and joins Mark Oates and Al Evans as the winners so far. Thanks to Scott and Kerry for all the mowing they did. Frank and his wife Ava were having dinner one night when Frank reaches across the table and takes his wife’s hand and asks her has she ever been unfaithful in their almost thirty years of marriage. “Well Frank” Ava replies, “I have to be honest with you. Yes, I have been unfaithful to you three times during these almost thirty years, but always for a good reason.”

Frank was obviously hurt by this admission but quietly asks about these ‘good reasons.’ “Well, the first time was not long after we were married and were about to lose our house because we were behind on the mortgage. Do you remember I went and saw the bank manager one night and next day he notified you that he was extending our loan.” Frank agreed with that ‘good reason’ and asked about the second time. “That was when you were sick and we didn’t have the money to pay for your heart surgery. Well, I went and saw your doctor one night and, if you recall, there was no charge for the surgery at all.” Frank did recall that and admitted the surgery saved his life and asked about the third time. “So do you remember when you ran for President of your golf club, and you needed a dozen more votes?” Golf on Sunday, 8.30am for 9am. Everyone welcome
