Known for its rich history, the Downtown Historic District is home to Amarillo’s early roots and story. The Amarillo Cultural District celebrates Amarillo’s diverse creativity and vibrant future as a cultural destination in the Texas Panhandle. In 2016, the Texas Commission on the Arts officially recognized the Amarillo Cultural District as one of 40 districts in the state. It is a destination for visual, performing, culinary and architectural arts.
