Feather and Bone was established in 2012 to make beautiful clothes for free spirits. It unites boho chic with nostalgic glamour for women who dress to please themselves, and buy things to last. Our pieces have a lot of vintage references being inspired hugely by London designers of the 60s and 70s covered buttons, puffed shoulders, tea dresses. We love Ossie Clarke, Celia Birtwell and Biba. We love the idea of a brand which you can rely on, where you know what you are getting, one which can be trusted to deliver each season.

We produce in London in small volumes, especially where fabrics are limited, ensuring that our designs are pieces to covet...
Our vision is to create pieces that are immediately identifiable as Feather and Bone, having a recognisable aesthetic that unites our collections. The clothes are designed to do the talking, rejecting fashion and fad for a timeless aesthetic to be worn season after season. In the same way an Ossie Clarke is revered and coveted over decades our clothes are intended to be relevant over time. It’s about style eternal, never fashion.
Our fabric choices are based in our ethical vision for the brand. We use Viscose as much as possible, and use leftover fabrics from larger runs. This actively prevents those beautiful fabrics from going to landfill. We have been conscientious about being a brand that stands for something at its core. That is longevity and sustainability. Knowing that fast fashion is the second most environmentally destructive industry (second after the Oil industry) we feel we don’t want to be a part of that... fast fashion creates a culture where clothing is disposable, and people are hurt. We decided that this is not something we ever want to contribute to.
