In 1993 we launched a local wedding resource product and 30 years later we are still here and we have you, the wonderful brides, the readers and the incredible advertisers to thank.

Bent Creek Farm is located on 52 acres of rolling pastures and wooded trails in Upstate SC. Brides have their choice of six unique sites for their ceremony including the enchanted forest, rock structure with a waterfall, a working red water wheel and our beautiful barn. Our venue includes a beautiful 1800 square foot climate-controlled barn with many unique features, fully equipped catering kitchen, Bridal Suite, Grooms Den featuring a Pool Table, Poker Machine and Slot Machine with a 65” TV and a Movie Screen. From the bride: Ryan and I met at Clemson while both working for the athletic department. It was Ryan’s last semester of Senior year and my first semester of graduate school. We both knew Ryan would likely take a job in another state after graduation. We decided to give long distance a try. After a year and a half of flights between Washington DC and Greenville, I graduated and moved to DC. In March 2021, Ryan proposed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the National Mall. On January 15, 2022, the weekend of a rare, record snowstorm in Greenville, we said I do and began our life together. We escaped the snow and headed to Punta Cana for our honeymoon.

Our Story

Corbin and I met during high school through church. He had just graduated and was about to go to Clemson in the fall, and I was starting my senior year. We actually began dating the day before he left and continued all through college. We spent an amazing 4 years together as Clemson students, winning two national championships!

Two years after graduating college, we went on a hike with our pup Tucker to one of our favorite spots. It was where we went on our third date. Once we got to the top of the waterfall, he asked me to marry him, and I of course said yes!!

The wedding was every dream come to life. My mom was an incredible wedding planner, helping me alongside our amazing vendors bring our vision to life. 10.08.2022 will always hold such beautiful memories for Corbin and me.

Their Story - Olivia (Medley) and Alejandro Luna were married at the gorgeous Edinburgh West in Taylors, SC. The couple first saw drawings of this venue fours year earlier, sitting next to Marc Wheeler and his daughter Kennedy at an awards banquet. Olivia knew right then that Edinburgh West, a glass conservatory style building, was where she wanted to eventually get married. The entire property was decorated to reflect elegance and rich color, overflowing with deep purple, burgundy and gold and velvety black details. Alejandro and Olivia met seven years ago on Folly Beach, SC and reconnected two years later. Olivia didn’t live in the Upstate at the time, so their official first date was in her hometown of Chattanooga, TN. Six months later Olivia moved to Greenville. The couple have been involved in the wedding industry for many years; Alejandro as a photographer with Noveli Photography and Olivia as a bridal stylist and manager with The Poinsett Bride. We felt truly blessed to have built the relationships we have, and our vendors went above and beyond to make our day super special! We focused on sentimentality and guest experience and it was very important to us that our guests, which included many event vendors, enjoyed the night. Holly’s Cakes and Edinburgh West made our cake come from the ceiling!Thats never been done here in the Upstate. Jumping Jukebox ‘gave us everything they had’ which is what Blake would tell us almost everytime we saw him before he passed. We included snow into our grande exit in memory of him. There were so many small details that were special to us. Our first date was to a blown glass studio, so our unity ceremony was different colors of glass poured together and will be made into an art piece for our home. We feel that our wedding is the beginning of a new family, and so while planning, we created a Luna Family crest which was sealed on all our invitations and favors.

I love what I do so much, and my couples and families know that very soon in the planning process. I am beyond flattered and honored when a family trusts me to assist with the planning of one of the most important days in their lives. I take it so seriously, but still love to laugh and have fun through the entire process. I look at it like I have one chance to knock it out of the park. There is no do-over. I put my heart and soul into every wedding or event I plan. I have now planned well over 1200 weddings in my career, and still love it! I look forward to working with you!

From the bride: Kyle and I met through my brother and mutual friends. Knowing these connections, when I met Kyle I knew I could trust him. The first time we hungout we both knew we would be inseparable. We hung out every chance we got. We shared a bond that brought so much joy to us that others noticed a change.

Kyle popped the question in my kitchen on December 18th, 2021. He put the engagement ring in an Oreo knowing I would be getting the Oreos out.

Mary-Peyton and Brendyn met online after a friend convinced Mary-Peyton to try a dating app. They met during her third year of medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Greenville and during his third year as a PhD candidate studying biomedical engineering at Clemson University. The two connected instantly given their shared love for God, the outdoors, and medicine. Six months later Brendyn proposed. They were married at Greer First Baptist Church with the reception at Greer City Hall on May 27, 2022. It was a beautiful Spring day spent celebrating with close family and friends. The Laurenda’s food and service exceeded all expectations!

Khusbu and Mohit met each other in the fall of 2012 through one of their best friends at Garba in Khusbu’s hometown. As they began to spend more time with each other over the next two years, they created a wholesome friendship that grew stronger. On April 14, 2015, Mohit asked Khusbu to be his girlfriend and since that day they began a journey they knew would last a lifetime. Through many ups and downs in life, their bond grew stronger, and their love matured into a beautiful testament of devotion and compassion. They started off as two kids in love and helped each other grow into the adults they are today. They were hand in hand as they both finished their education and began their dream careers.

After 5 years of dating, on March 7, 2020, Mohit proposed to Khusbu in Makua Beach, Hawaii. He planned the most stunning proposal with the help of friends & family. After 7 years of dating, they finally became Mr. & Mrs. Gupta during multiple days of celebration at the Spartanburg Marriott hotel in May of 2022.

From the bride: We were truly blessed with the best vendors making the day absolutely perfect. By the end of the wedding, the vendors, especially Laurenda’s, felt more like family who also got to share our special day with us. The day of the wedding, it poured down rain. We made the call to move the ceremony inside the barn. Even though it wasn’t the original vision we both had for our wedding, SWR and all the vendors went above and beyond to make sure it was still perfectly beautiful. During the ceremony, the sun broke through the clouds and shined through the windows beaming down on Parker and I. We were still able to get the pictures with the fall backdrop I had dreamed about for so long. After the ceremony, we had the time of our lives eating and dancing the night away!

From the bride: It was a Thursday afternoon when the couple crossed paths the good ol’ millennial way - online! It truly was love at first swipe. After a few weeks of talking and getting to know each other, they decided to meet in Mills River, North Carolina for a first date. However, Christa canceled at the last minute and was sure that Noah would be less than interested in trying for first date 2.0. Little to her dismay, he did ask again & the rest is history. The couple have been together since September 17th, 2021 and were married on July 30th, 2022.

Located in Simpsonville, South Carolina and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this family-owned estate offers plenty of space and appealing features for weddings and events, large or small. Secluded and private, the venue is a fifteen-minute drive into Simpsonville and a thirty-minute drive to downtown Greenville.

Wedding ceremonies can be held in areas such as a belvedere in the peaceful woodland garden overlooking a five-acre pond, at a gazebo, out under a shade tree in a pasture, or on the tiered rock steps next to a palmetto tree water fountain.

Your reception or party can be set up under a large pavilion with our tables and chairs or your own and we welcome outside vendors of your choosing. If desired, a chef and a photographer (family members), are available to assist.

Other nice features include bridal and groomsmen’s dressing rooms, exclusive use for fourteen hours, ample parking, kitchen facilities, rehearsal time the day before your wedding, complimentary photography sessions, and full use of an indoor dining hall set with wooden tables and chairs for eighty guests.
