Their Story - After a close friendship and dating for a few years, Myles proposed November 11, 2019. Rewind to March of 2019 – I was in a jewelry store with my mother, sister and another family member dropping off a piece of jewelry for repair when an estate ring caught my attention. The ring made me think of Myles and I instantly fell in love with it. We knew that we would eventually get married but hadn’t taken any steps towards engagement at the time since we were in the middle of planning my sister’s wedding. The following week I went back to pick up the repaired jewelry and the ring was gone – I wrote it off and assumed someone else had fallen in love with it as much as I had, completely unaware that Myles, my sister and my dad had taken a trip the the weekend prior especially to purchase the ring under the veil of a trip to look at farm equipment. He held on to the ring for eight months waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question and did so in the most perfect way in November 2019. Having had such a long relationship, I knew what I wanted for my wedding day and because of that planning was a breeze. As a kid, I watched the movie “Father of the Bride” with my dad every chance we got so that movie held a very tender place in my heart making it the obvious inspiration for our day. Suzie Bunn of STATICE instantly connected with my vision and did such an amazing job bringing it to life with floral design. Professional Party Rentals of Greenville was my first stop and they were also amazing with bringing my vision to life. We knew that October was a very popular month to get married, so securing vendors was at the very top of my to do list. The only need I didn’t already have a dream vendor for was catering. PPR directed me to Good Life Catering and I am so pleased that they did. We could not have been happier with the food. After our huge tasting, we talked about the food for weeks. You will not walk away hungry from a GLC tasting. The food and the staff at Good Life exceeds expectation. Our guests still comment to me about how delicious the food was and how wonderful the waitstaff was. Guests were especially pleased with the bartending staff connecting with them and remembering their orders. Everyone from Good Life made our guests feel special and I’ll never be able to thank them enough for that. Myles and I both work for my family’s company in the apple industry. I handle brokerage, sales and packing operations while he works with orchard management. Having chosen to get married during the time of year that we commonly work 10-12 hour days, I knew that while I wanted to plan our wedding myself there was no way I would have the time to execute the tasks necessary to pull it off the two months prior to the day. This is where my coordinator came in. I chose to work with Shannon Pruitt of Bespoken. We chose to utilize her 60-90 day coordination service and it was a perfect fit. Even though we went with the short term coordination, Shannon made herself available to me anytime and was wonderful to work with. In September, I was able to confidently hand her everything I had done knowing that she would be able to pull all of it together and keep the stress as minimal as possible. Fortunately, we had secured all of our vendors by the close of 2019 or very early in 2020. I never batted an eyelash at being a COVID bride because of all the wonderful people we worked with. Each and every one of our vendors made our wedding day and the time leading up to it one of the most truly happy seasons of our lives. Most people reflect on 2020 negatively, but the two of us look back on it with so much joy.

About the day- Brandon and Lindsay both went to Winthrop University and met through Brandon’s fraternity brothers. They both knew immediately that they were soulmates. Lindsay and Brandon got engaged in July of 2019 at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Charlotte, NC. Their Story - Mari Claire and Robert’s wedding at the Southern Bleachery in Greenville, SC was such a sweet day. They met when MC needed help hanging something at her new apartment and her roommate knew a guy. Robert showed up and the rest is history! Robert said: MC and I met through church and a co-working space, but we really connected because we’ve both lost our moms. Her dad still had her mom’s wedding dress and MC did a first look with her dad in her mom’s dress (as well as her own). It was such a special moment and one she will have to look back on. One of her mother figures walked down the aisle in place of her mom and placed a special magnolia bloom on her mom’s chair. Other important women in MC’s life stood during this moment which was a beautiful way to honor them for their role in her life.

About the day- Heyward Manor officially opened in November 2019, and sweet Courtney was the new venue’s very first boho bride. Courtney brought all of her boho dreams to life by designing, planning and setting up the majority of her ceremony and reception herself. From the pampas grass and eucalyptus design on the patio overlooking the sparkling lake for her ceremony, to bridal party photos taken in tall wheat grass in the meadow, to a simplistic and greenery centric reception, every detail was absolutely perfect, reflecting the personality of this stunning couple. The bridesmaids’ classic and neutral dresses combined with the groomsmen’s stylish attire, as well as the most beautiful bouquets and coordinating boutonnieres tied everything together. A delicious catered dinner from Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill and not one, but seven beautiful cakes from Kim Brown Cakes contributed to the wonderful reception. Courtney and Gabe first met at a friend’s church game night. Placed on the same team, Gabe talked to Courtney the entire night. He was enamored by Courtney and loved her long curly hair. A group date was arranged, and the rest is history! Almost three years later, Courtney and Gabe were engaged after Gabe proposed to Courtney on an ice cream date in downtown Greenville.

About the day- Katelyn (Rutland) and Jonathan Phillips were married in July at Tin Roof Farms in Saluda, South Carolina, not far from where Katelyn grew up. Katelyn’s father discovered Tin Roof Farms a year before the two were engaged. Owning a helicopter business, he watched from the air as the venue was built, frequently flying over as he worked in the surrounding areas. When Katelyn and Jonathan saw Tin Roof for the first time, they immediately fell in love with its charm and exquisite detail. Katelyn and Jonathan’s wedding day was brought to life by a strong team of local vendors and supportive family friends. Guests were welcomed into the chapel, standing proudly under two large oaks. Natural light shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows flanking the long aisle, leading to a stained-glass cross where Katelyn and Jonathan shared their vows. A cocktail hour under the oaks and reception followed. Chef Brandon Velie of Juniper (Ridge Spring, South Carolina) catered the event, bringing in local fare from surrounding farms for offerings of bacon-wrapped quail, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and beef brisket sliders, to name a few. Juniper is where Jonathan asked Katelyn’s parents for their permission, and it’s where the couple celebrated with their parents the evening they got engaged. Music from the five-piece band echoed through the reception hall’s grand doors onto the hand-laid stone patio where greenery-sashed high-tops topped with mercury-glass votives sat underneath delicately hung Edison bulbs. From the bride’s first look with her father to the unique vows written by the family friend who conducted the ceremony, every moment was laced with tradition and sentimentality. But perhaps the most unique aspect was the couple’s grand exit. When Katelyn’s parents were married in April of 1986, they left their wedding in a helicopter. At that warm July wedding under the stars, Katelyn and Jonathan did the same, an ode to the bride’s parents and her family’s helicopter business. Warm light from the chapel shone proudly in the background as Katelyn and Jonathan flew off into the night, guests’ sparklers shining below. Tin Roof Farms was the backdrop for their perfect day, and the beginning of their “happily ever after.”

The School House Venue, which served as an actual School House from 1923 to 1960s, sat beautifully vacant for the last 60 years, daring somebody to accept the challenge of revitalization. Well, the challenge was accepted and in an intense 6 months of construction, Erin and Sean saved and restored this iconic structure and planned their own dream wedding (during a global pandemic), all while simultaneously running their 3 businesses! Their Story - Our story began in a way that neither of us ever thought would happen. Haley and I matched on Bumble (a dating app) in October of 2018. After communicating via Bumble for a little while we eventually made plans to meet each other in person. One Sunday evening we met at Joy of Tokyo for dinner. We enjoyed a short time of getting to know each other while indulging into our hibachi plates. Our time was cut short when Haley was called into work. But it wasn’t long after that before we got together again. Next thing you know, we are texting each other on a daily basis and began spending more and more time together. A couple of months passed and I had yet to kiss Haley. On New Years Eve Haley texted me from work “Happy New Year” with the kiss face emoji. I figured that was the green light for me to go for it. The next time we were together I asked Haley if I could cash in on my “Happy New Year” kiss, to which she responded “Yes, please do.” Come to find out she had been waiting on me to kiss her and was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to do so. More time went by and I eventually worked up the nerve to ask Haley to be my girlfriend. To which she responded, “I’m just not ready yet.” OUCH! Fortunately it wasn’t much longer down the road that we had another conversation and decided to make our relationship “official”…yep, we were boyfriend/girlfriend. After that, our relationship grew deeper and deeper. We found out that we were very fortunate to have our parents and families approval of each other. In fact, we enjoyed spending time with each other’s family and eventually had our families get together on multiple occasions. Haley and I prayed (pretty much on a daily basis) about our relationship and made it a point that we wanted God to be at the center of our relationship. As time went on talks of getting engaged and married took place. After 15 months of dating, I finally popped the question on April 17th, 2020. On that evening, while watching the sunset at my house, I proposed to Haley and she said yes. It was such as special time as our families were there to witness it and celebrate with us. After almost a 6 month engagement, we have finally arrived at our wedding day. We are so excited to begin this next chapter of our lives together.

About the day- About the day- Allison and Kendall met in 2011 while playing college soccer together at a private university in the upstate...their friendship grew, and the rest is history! In 2019 the couple visited South Wind Ranch and fell in love with the Venue, the unique experience the Ranch offered, and also….the goats! The goats played a role in Allison’s proposal to Kendall as she used one of the baby goats to wear a bandana that read “Marry meeeeee?”. Kendall said yes and the wedding planning began!

On their wedding day, several unique and sentimental experiences occurred. 1) Allison’s father, lovingly referred to as Papa Johns, walked both brides down the aisle one at a time. 2) The mother and aunt surprised everyone and served as the “forever young” flower girls! 3) The brides commissioned a local artist to create a hand-woven textile unity piece that the couple would finish to symbolize their union as two different strands woven together. This created a beautiful piece of art.

The couple was married by Kendall’s cousin. Allison’s uncle, who married her parents in 1975, provided final blessings during the ceremony. The guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the newlyweds took final pictures at sunset overlooking South Wind Ranch’s 3-acre spring-fed lake. The couple’s three pups, Tupelo, June, and Duck were the inspiration for the signature cocktails and the cake toppers.

Allison and Kendall danced their first dance to ‘the song Wine We Drink’ by Drew and Ellie Holcombe, and played by friends and SC native duo Admiral Radio. Allison danced with Papa Johns while Kendall joined the band to sing their father daughter dance. The moment was precious! There was not a dry eye in sight! Dinner was then served by Daniel Lopez, serving his authentic Spanish Paella. Dinner was a huge success with the guests, as many were tasting Paella for the first time! Once the cake was cut and the marriage license was signed the dancing began! Love and joy dominated the evening! What meant the most to Kendall and Allison were having all their family, guests and friends celebrating their special day. These were the people who had shared their love and support throughout the years leading to their marriage and future together! South Wind Ranch was the perfect location for their special day!

About the day - What made this wedding so very unique is that multiple desires of the bride that were accomplished with the help of an amazing vendor team. Of course her most important goal was to marry her love, Steve, but while she gathered her family for her luxury I dos, she decided to coordinate a long-overdue family portrait as well. Photographer John Cureton captured the essence of the big, beautiful blended family in a gorgeous photo shoot outside on the patio of the venue in front of a natural green wall. Lorraine’s third goal was to celebrate Christmas with her family and during the reception, DJ Marvel switched the music to beloved Christmas tunes and the family gathered around the Christmas tree so Lorraine & Steve could disperse gifts to everyone. It was truly a magical wedding that was a celebration of life, love, and family.

Thier Story - David and Kelsey met while both living in Hoboken, NJ. They met on a random Thursday night at Talley Ho (a place David & Kelsey rarely visited!) A year later they moved to Greenville, SC together. Soon they had two adopted cats and were engaged! About the day- Megan and Jason met at a church college ministry and became great friends. They kept in touch over the years, living in different cities as well as different countries. Eventually...8 years later, they started dating. They were engaged within a year and married 5 months later. It didn’t take long to plan the most perfect wedding. About the day- On a day that was supposed to be “THE” date of 2020, Brianne and Michael’s wedding ended up being the only wedding we had on the much coveted date of 10-10-2020. Nothing could stop the epic celebration that Brianne and Michael had planned. Their wedding celebration was held at one of our absolute favorite venues, The Westin Poinsett in the Gold Ballroom. It was the perfect setting for their timeless wedding reception. Our day with Brianne and Michael started with us providing the soundtrack to their wedding ceremony. They chose songs that were close to their hearts, as well as arrival songs that perfectly fit the vibe and setting of their day. Once they said their I do’s, we continued the fun to their cocktail hour, complete with a spectacular charcuterie spread from and delicious cocktails too! We kicked off their wedding reception with a super high energy wedding party introduction. For their grand introduction, Brianne and Michael entered their celebration to all of their friends and family on their feet, cheering on the newlyweds. They led into their first dance, a custom choreographed dance to the theme of one of their favorite shows, Game of Thrones. When the chorus rose, so did our indoor spark fountains and the guests all cheered. The smiles on everyone’s faces were priceless and it made for an unforgettable moment. Following dinner and toasts, we kicked off their party and what a party it was! All of the seats were empty and the dance floor was packed. Our Luxe services were the perfect fit for the venue and the high energy dance party that they wanted. The guests very much enjoyed our Mirror Photo Booth experience and their album made for a hilarious keepsake. We also had our TV Luxe booth for their custom video monogram and their surprise toasts from several members of Michael’s family who couldn’t travel. Another huge surprise that we pulled off for Brianne and Michael was displaying same day photo edits from Summer and Stephen at Noveli Photography. They and their guests LOVED seeing their wedding pictures at their reception. Between our talented team, the effect enhancements, a killer vendor team and the great group of people, everything came together for an unforgettable celebration for Brianne and Michael and was certainly a highlight of 2020.
