The Great War Sewing Bee In honour of the centenary of the end of The First World War, the massive impact on fashion that this war had and in a celebration of Fife’s rich textile heritage, Buttons and Blethers of Elgin Industrial Estate, Dunfermline are hosting Fife’s very own sewing competition, The Great War Sewing Bee! Anthem For A Doomed Youth In commemoration of the Great War, Guy Masterson has compiled 60 minutes of the finest First World War poetry and accounts from both sides of no-man’s land. Including works from Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Isaac Rosenberg together with moving stories, the trenches are brought vividly to life.

The 100 Days Offensive Major Susan Duthie, 154 (Scottish) Regiment The Royal Logistic Corps, based in Dunfermline, will talk about the battles that brought the First World War to an end, touching on the history of her regiment from then until now.
