The Adam Smith Theatre has been closed for refurbishment for two years for what is the largest renovation in the 120-year history of the building history of the building.

We're thrilled that we’ll have it back again in 2023 and as we countdown to its reopening, we want to engage with the community to understand what services and facilities would be most relevant to people to create a vibrant community hub and a welcoming, inclusive place.

Looking ahead to the spring season is always a joyful time for us here at OnFife, and it’s even more exciting to bring you an ever-growing programme of fantastic entertaiment.

We’re delighted to be having three visits by The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines to Carnegie Hall in 2023, including a not-to-be missed A Night at the Musicals (page 5). You’ll be boogie-ing on down with Disco Inferno (page 8), an all-singing, all-dancing celebration of everything D.I.S.C.O and if you want more, you ’ re invited to get ‘lost in music’ for another night of big 70s hits at Lost in Music: One Night at the Disco (page 17). Or if the 80s are more your style, don’t miss 80s Live (page 9), which promises to be another party night to remember.

Rothes Hall has a cracking line-up with some of the world’s very best tribute shows – check out The Legends of American Country (page 15), Buon Jovi Always (page 17), The Magic of Motown (page 17), The Sound of Springsteen (page 18), Supreme Queen (page 18) and The Rocketman (page 19). And there’s even more on the music front. Day at Night: The Doris Day Songbook (page 11) celebrates the life of the legendary Doris Day with songs and stories while the much-loved country duo of Foster & Allen are back with a new show (page 19).

If you like a night-out to involve lots of laughs, then we ’ ve also got you covered. Janey Godley is back with her Not Dead Yet tour (page 16) while comedian (and Perthshire farmer!) Jim Smith will have you in tears of laughter with his tales of rural life (page 6).

Looking further ahead in the year, we ’ re thrilled that we’ll have the refurbished Adam Smith in Kirkcaldy back (see opposite page for more), when this much-loved venue will be adding even more to our programme.

A classic black comedy; a sweet little old lady, alone in her house, is pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing. Posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet but strict Mrs Wilberforce. The villains plot to involve her, unwittingly, in Marcus’ brilliantly conceived heist job. The police are left stumped, but Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse and Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet. With only her parrot, General Gordon to help her, Mrs Wilberforce is alone with five desperate men. But who will be forced to face the music?

Dunfermline Gilbert & Sullivan Society are returning to Carnegie Hall to celebrate their 50th anniversary with The Pirates of Penzance. Always a favourite production, Robin Ożóg directs and stars as the Pirate King, Gordon Horne is young Frederick; and we welcome Michael Scott as Major-General Stanley and Jennifer Murray as Mabel. Musical Director Eddie MacLennan leads a full orchestra in a fun operetta that includes many well known songs.

“It started as a concert; it became a celebration!” Starring the Stevie Agnew Band who bring over 30 years of live experience to this electrifying show celebrating the legendary concert and much-loved film from The Band. Bob Dylan’s backing band The Hawks, now known simply as The Band, played their last concert in 1976. The now legendary Last Waltz, filmed and directed by Martin Scorsese, setting the bar for all music films to follow. After The Last Waltz is a show steeped in musical history and respect for this influential group, playing hits from the movie and more. A night of Americana, folk, blues and classic rock and roll! Fife Brass Band Festival

The Fife Brass Band Festival is a brass band entertainment competition open to all contesting bands from Scotland and beyond. It is open to members of the public, who can enjoy a day of music making with live, onstage performances from all bands. Each band will perform an own choice programme of 15 minutes playing time. The styles of music are varied, with something for everyone. All tastes and ages are catered for. There is an adjudicator who will judge the music content of each programme, and two entertainment judges who will decide on the most entertaining band. All prizes and awards will be presented after the last band has played. Come along and listen! Will you agree with the results?

Glenrothes Theatre Company hit the stage with “Molly Whuppie”, a fun-filled fantasy for all the family by local playwright Ron Nicol. Prince Wilfrid wants to marry Molly, but King Walter challenges her to steal the Ogre’s ring of power, hoping she’ll become the Ogre’s favourite meal of little girlie grilled on toast. When Queen Wilhelmina sends her champion Cuthbert to capture the Ogre, Molly’s sisters Mavis and Maisie get involved. For tickets costing more than £5, a minimum £1 reservation fee is applied online and on the phone, up to a maximum of £5 per transaction There is no charge when booking in person at our venues

We offer lower-priced concession tickets for many of our shows, subject to availability. If you are under 16, a Senior Citizen, a student in full time education, registered disabled or unemployed, where you see ‘ conc ’ you can book at a reduced price. When collecting tickets, proof of concession must be provided.

Baby Ticket (Under 2s)

Bring your baby with you (sitting on your knee) for FREE when attending films and many shows at our theatres. Just select an Adult & Baby ticket when booking your performance so we register attendance and we can then support you in our venues. Some shows may charge. Please note the tickets will only be available for suitable performances and will exclude shows programmed specifically for that age group.
