Spectre Rating 12A I Running Time 148 mins I UK/USA I 2015 Directed by Sam Mendes Starring Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux Bond is back, and Daniel Craig is back, in a terrifically exciting, spectacular and delirious 007 adventure. Craig furthers his claim to be the best-ever-Bond in this high-octane film that explores our relationship with surveillance technology in an increasingly voyeuristic world, but never forgets to be uproariously entertaining. Pure action mayhem with a real sense of style.

Sun 10 Jan 3pm

Hotel Transylvania 2 Rating U I Running Time 89 mins I USA I 2015 Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky Voices Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi The follow-up to 2012’s monster hit, Hotel Transylvania 2 is a breathless sequel in which Dracula fears his 5-year-old grandson may not grow up to be vampire enough. Full of hilarious one-liners, slapstick and visual gags, the film maintains a breakneck pace throughout and will delight any Adam Sandler fan as well as lovers of the original film.

Sun 10 Jan 7.30pm

Macbeth Rating 15 I Running Time 113 mins I UK/France/USA I 2015 Directed by Justin Kurzel Starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, David Thewlis, Snowtown director Justin Kurzel’s big-screen rendering of the ‘Scottish play’ is a spittle-flecked war film full of post-Braveheart mud, warpaint and Kurosawa-style bloodshed. Michael Fassbender plays the future king of Scotland as a rugged warrior coming apart at the seams, with Marion Cotillard similarly mesmerising as Lady Macbeth. Raw, visceral and contagious, Macbeth stunningly updates Shakespeare for the 21st century.

Carey Mulligan turns in an electric performance as the heart of Sarah Gavron’s film about the British women’s suffrage movement. The story may take place in 1912, and the sets and costumes vividly and convincingly evoke a bygone age, but Suffragette is written, shot and acted with a hot-blooded urgency that reminds you the struggle it depicts is an ongoing one.
