Luwtestructuren

In 2016 RIJKSWATERSTAAT kicked off realisation of the 1st stage of the MARKER WADDEN. This landscape strategy is based on development of lee-structures in the lake and the built of island by silt, Lee stuctures will change the current and flow system causing a transition of the soil graphic. Catchment of silt and movement of sand from several pits delivers built material. Islands are built in both mechanical and natural way by replacement of material.

The strategy as piloted by the MARKER WADDEN is engineered and modelled by ROYAL HASKONING DHV and DELTARES. A landscape strategy as the base layer for the new watercity masterplan!
