WELL VALUE

Usually ground level is seen as a fixed element to serve one program. For adaptivity of the city landscape a change of view is necessery.

Let start to face ground level as a WELL and built the archipelgo on it.

The WELL is a changable, temporary surface able to serve a variety of natural and urban services linked to waterdepth. The value of the WELL follows the increase of fertility or amount of landfill.

The WELL can’t be fixed, nor be owned and is therefor a public space.

Levels above 3 meter + NAP are out of WELL-range and can be privately owned.

To serve nature goals it is necessary to agree on the definition of NATURE.

As national nature goals are presented in a 'Index Natuur en Landschap' it seems obivous to agree on this method. The index presents 17 different NATURE TYPES.

to translate the 17 NATURE TYPES to develpment principles it is necessary to link them to the WELL. By linking nature types to waterdepth it is possible to sort them into 6 nature categories or biotypes.

DUNE, FOREST, GRASSLAND, SWAMP, MANGROVE and SEA. Let's call them NATURE TYPOLOGIES.
