Red represents my families bloodline. Both orange and red represent the rage and frustration of black people and the anger felt throughout the world after the murder of George Floyd. I merged my inspiration with the contemporary silhouette of a corset. The gold brooches are symbolic of the Motherland where black people lived as Kings and Queens before being forced into slavery.
