Ashley Hall is the perfect place for your child to enjoy summer! The enhanced 2020 Summer Programs schedule is the largest ever, offering a wide variety of classes that will keep campers entertained and engaged!

Registration Information Visit www.ashleyhall.org/summerprograms to view the various offerings available for your child based on age and interest. Registration is available online only. Summer Programs Deadlines: Specialty camps must meet minimum camper registration requirements by April 15, 2020. If sessions do not meet the minimum by this date, families will be contacted and offered the option to switch into another specialty camp or receive a full refund. Summer Programs Deposit: There will be a $75 non-refundable deposit per week of camp (or session) to secure your camper’s spot. All payments, minus the non-refundable deposit, are fully refundable until May 8, 2020. Payment: Balances due on all summer programs must be paid in full by May 8, 2020. Campers who fail to meet this payment deadline risk losing their spot and deposits. There will be no refunds issued after May 8, 2020 unless there is a medical emergency and a verifiable doctor’s note is presented. Camps cannot be prorated for missed days during a camp week. Ages 5–11 Weekly from June 15 to July 31 (7 individual sessions) 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. $375 per session Designed just for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade, Ashley Hall’s Girls Day Camp offers girls the opportunity to explore dance, music, drama, swimming, arts and crafts, sports, and special events. Through weekly themes, campers immerse themselves in creativity while exploring the world around them. Each session is led by trained educators, experienced counselors, and certified lifeguards to provide expertise in an engaging and safe learning environment. Ashley Hall’s unique camp setting creates a supportive environment where campers make new friends, strengthen both minds and bodies, and just have fun! Camp fee is all inclusive, with a hot lunch, healthy snacks, weekly field trips, and daily swimming.

Early Education Day Camp (For Girls & Boys)

Ages 3 & 4 Weekly from June 15 to July 31 (7 individual sessions) 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. $375 per session Get ready for a summer of exploration and hands-on learning. Ashley Hall’s summer camp for three and four year olds parallels Ashley Hall’s Early Education Center’s (EEC) program and its philosophy of student-driven, experiential learning. The curriculum adapts to students’ interests and passions while incorporating many EEC favorite activities. Camp fee is all inclusive, with a hot lunch, healthy snacks, weekly field trips, and daily swimming.

Adventure Camp for Girls

Ages 5–7 Weekly from June 15 to July 31 (7 individual sessions) 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. $375 per session New for the summer of 2020, Ashley Hall is excited to offer summer programs for boy campers! Designed just for boys in kindergarten through fifth grade, the Boys Day Camp offers a selection of high-energy activities for boys to explore their world through swimming, arts and crafts, sports, and special events. Weekly themes allow campers to immerse themselves in creativity while exploring the world around them. Each day includes various sports and physical activities that emphasize the importance of teamwork while helping campers fine tune their motor skills. Each session is led by trained educators, experienced counselors, and certified lifeguards to provide expertise in an engaging and safe learning environment. Ages 12–15 Session I: June 22–26 Session II: August 3–7 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. $375 per session | minimum number of campers required - 12 Rock climbing, kayaking, beach outings, and so much more await girls who love adventure. Campers spend time exploring Charleston on various excursions. Each day features a different trip and is guaranteed to be action packed! Lunch is provided.

WEE LITTLE ARTS

June 15–June 19 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum of campers required - 8 During this exploratory camp, students experience the artistic styles of faraway lands or historic periods. Through fun crafts and inspirational activities, students travel to different regions of the world to understand and appreciate art in its many forms.

YOUNG EXPLORERS

June 22–26 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Sparking imaginations and promoting healthy activity, this camp inspires young explorers eager to investigate the great outdoors! From outdoor games and nature scavenger hunts to learning about the natural habitat of the Lowcountry’s wildlife, campers enjoy new outside adventures each day.

DINOSAUR DAYS

June 29–July 2 (4 days only) 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $120 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Calling all future paleontologists! Discover the wonders of the prehistoric world and relish all things dinosaur! Through storytelling, music, dance, art, and other play activities, campers learn about these fascinating creatures before participating in their very own archaeological dig.

In addition to drawing their own designs and sketches, campers use a number of tools and building materials to make their dream buildings a reality. Design and building basics help guide children to visualize new ways to make extraordinary creations, all while enjoying one of their favorite pastimes.

Each day focuses on a different dance genre including modern, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. Campers receive a snack each day.

Campers learn the basic skills of a variety of sports along with offensive and defensive strategies. In addition to cooking, students explore food-related books, games, and crafts. Each young chef creates an individual cookbook with favorite recipes learned that week.

June 15–19 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Girls explore French culture through literature, movement, food, music, and art. From pointillism to crepes and so much more, girls use their imaginations and creativity for this immersive cultural journey!

BUDDING ARTISTS

June 15–19 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Painting, collage, and sculpture­ —girls experience a wide range of art mediums while producing their own masterpieces! Each day has dedicated time for campers to work with their favorite art medium, and the week ends with a beautiful portfolio of their creations.

BRICKS 4 KIDZ I

June 22–26 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Guided by our experienced teachers and built around exciting themes like space exploration, amusement parks, and more, girls explore the world of engineering, architecture, and robotics. Campers use LEGO® Bricks and basic robotics equipment to build motorized Bricks 4 Kidz models, participate in team construction challenges, create colorful crafts, and have plenty of time for play!

ARTS FOR THE AGES

Weekly curriculum includes a progressive series of skill-building activities and games that encourage sportsmanship, fitness, and teamwork. Girls gain a lifelong love for lacrosse!

DANCE AND TUMBLE

June 29–July 2 (4 days only) 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $120 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Little dancers have found the perfect stage! Girls dance, tumble, and laugh with friends while learning the basics to unique choreography. From practice sessions to performances, each camper enjoys learning new moves!

RETRO ART

July 6–July 10 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Retro fun is in the works for this creative camp dedicated to all the classic art activities associated with camps. Girls create necklaces, explore stained glass with tissue paper, design their own bead keychain, and learn the great art form of a lanyard!

S.M.ART GIRLS

July 6–July 10 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 The beauty of science, math, and art combined. Each day, girls study a different artist, followed by both an art project and science investigation that incorporates the artist and his or her work. Using a unique set of materials, this camp is all about fun and interactive learning. Girls fully explore the best part of a STEAMy summer!

YOUNG THEATER ARTS

July 13–July 17 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Calling all energetic actors and set builders! Girls develop imagination and creativity through a variety of games and activities inspired by the world of theater. From acting and direction to stagecraft and costumes, all the world’s a stage this summer!

MATH MUNCH

July 13–July 17 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Math Munch is for all budding mathematicians! Children are immersed in rich and multisensory activities using manipulatives and hands-on activities that build math skill sets. Through fun activities, students learn about basic addition and subtraction, graphing, telling time, fractions, word problems, money, and more. Offered in partnership with Little Scholars.

FULL STEAM AHEAD I

July 20–July 24 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Hop aboard the Full STEAM Express for a week exploring roller coasters and paper airplanes. Students use their creativity to design foam roller coasters and compete in a variety of building challenges. While learning about paper airplanes, students cruise through the creation of several models and wrap up the week with Flight School. Hands-on experiences and problem-solving exercises are front and center in this STEAM-based camp.

FAIRY GARDEN

July 20 – July 24 8:30 a.m.– 11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Come enjoy an enchanting week building fairy homes fully equipped with all the fairy amenities! Girls collect, build, and create structures to take home for their own backyard fairy garden.

DANCE TO THE BEAT

July 27–July 31 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 The best way to get exercise is by having fun at the same time! Campers learn dance vocabulary and technique while increasing flexibility, strength, and musicality. The day consists of a technique class, time for a rest and snack, then high energy rehearsals. The week culminates with a short performance.

ONCE UPON A TIME

July 27–July 31 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Fairy tales, superheroes, and favorite characters come to life! Girls sharpen skills in reading, creative thinking, art, and acting as they enjoy a variety of stories from the world of fantasy and celebrate with friends.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

MAKERSPACE LAB

June 15–19 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Sparking imaginations and inspiring creativity, the Makerspace Lab is the place to be for girls interested in design, art, construction, and more! From learning techniques to prototyping, girls get hands-on experience with creative technology, including a 3D printer and laser cutter.

BEGINNING SEWING

June 15–19 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Girls learn the foundational skills to create their own clothing or decorative pieces. Come enjoy the basics of sewing with our experienced instructors. Campers design, cut, and stitch their own creations to bring home at the end of the week. In partnership with Petit Panache.

FOOD TRUCK CHALLENGE

June 22–26 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Food on the run! This camp allows girls to pitch food truck concepts and develop corresponding menus! In addition to cooking tasty bites, they learn about the business of running a food truck and compete in fun challenges to best their skills. Order up!

FULL STEAM AHEAD II

June 22 –26 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Dive into the world of rule-breaking female scientists and the contributions they made to the world. Through hands-on activities and collaborative experiences exploring four separate fields of science, girls learn that they really can do and be anything they want to be!

ESCAPE!

June 29–July 2 (4 days only) 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $120 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Help open the lock! Participants work together to solve a series of engaging problems to achieve a common goal: unlock the box. Using the BreakoutEDU framework, daily lessons are designed with various challenges for each camper to solve. Campers cultivate the lifelong skills of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication, all in an action-packed week.

BRICKS 4 KIDZ II

June 29–July 2 (4 days only) 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $180 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Guided by experienced teachers and built around exciting themes like space exploration, amusement parks, and more, girls explore the world of engineering, architecture, and robotics. La Cuisine Française

July 6–July 10 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Gaining a love of French food and cooking, girls have hands-on experiences in the kitchen while speaking in French! Students have the chance to make recipes in French each day, taste their creations, learn cultural significances, and visit the Medical University of South Carolina Urban Farm to learn about sustainability and harvest their own produce. Enjoy authentic French specialties like Galette de Rois, croissants, crepes, cream puffs, clafoutis, or palmier cookies!

Using code.org, Scratch, and Spheros, campers learn coding and the basics of app and game creation through collaboration and critical thinking. Each day has outdoor time to explore the campus with friends. Come get plugged in!

MARITIME MASTERY

July 20–July 24 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Shipbuilding skills for the nautical minded! This handson science course is for girls who love to sail or build things. After examining a wide variety of floating vessels from boats to ships, students design and build their own floating devices to launch in the on-campus pool.

ARCHERY

July 27–July 31 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 During this beginner camp, archers learn range safety and fundamental archery skills and receive training from USA Archery certified coaches. Each day is filled with instruction, creative games, and plenty of competition.

MAKING MUSIC VIDEOS

July 13–July 17 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $150 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Develop the next music video hit! Students select one or more songs, write a script, act, shoot the video, and edit the final footage. From creating their own lyrics to planning choreography, campers record their video around campus and receive a copy to share with their families and friends.

FASHION WEEK

July 20–July 24 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Fashion Week is all about being creative and having fun with new ideas! Campers learn about fashion, design, and sewing, which empower them to create projects they can wear. ALL ABOUT BEES

July 27–July 31 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Exploring the fascinating world of bees, girls gain a better understanding of why bees are important to the ecosystem and how to protect them. Campers also learn the basics of beekeeping and harvest honey from working campus bee hives. Each camper leaves with her own bottle of honey!

JR. CHEF

August 3–August 7 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Join one of Ashley Hall's expert chefs to learn the fundamentals of cooking and try some stellar recipes. With an emphasis on food handling, preparation, safety, and presentation, girls have fun whipping up tasty entries for a final group meal!

HAND SEWING

August 3–August 7 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Girls learn basic hand sewing skills like threading a needle, sewing a button, embroidery, and cross-stitch to bring their designs to life! They use a variety of materials such as felt, fabric, and then socks to create a stuffed animal and other projects to take home at the end of the week.

JR. CHEF CUPCAKE CHALLENGE

August 3–August 7 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 8 Girls looking for an action-packed cooking challenge have found the perfect camp! In addition to building valuable skills in the kitchen, campers compete for bragging rights through a series of fun challenges and cook-offs. From baking to decorating, this camp is non-stop excitement!

VOLLEYBALL

Session 1: June 15–19 Session 2: June 22–26 Entering 4th–6th grades, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Entering 7th–8th grades, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 10 Led by Ashley Hall’s championship-winning volleyball coach, summer participants in this popular program learn fundamental volleyball skills such as proper serving, passing, setting, and hitting techniques. Offensive and defensive strategies are also introduced. Sessions feature age-appropriate instruction for all.

BASKETBALL

July 13–July 17 Entering 4th–6th grades, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 10 This camp is for athletes looking to take their game to the next level. Each day focuses on learning and improving fundamental skills of shooting, passing, ball handling, defensive technique, and teamwork with various drills and games. The coaching staff designs drills that allow campers to be successful in building up their skill level and applying it in fun games and competitive scrimmages.

SPEED, AGILITY, & POWER

July 20–July 24 Entering 4th–6th grades, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Entering 7th–8th grades, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 10 Feel the need for speed? Girls who want to be the first to the ball, faster than the competition, and able to jump higher and farther than their opponents love this camp! Speed, agility, and power are three crucial components to becoming a successful athlete. Unlock hidden potential and build an arsenal of skills.

Entering 5th–8th grades June 15–June 19 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Play ukulele with singing and hand drum lessons included! In between lessons, the day is filled with music-related games and activities as well as basic music theory. Girls learn simple ukulele chords to accompany their singing.

Entering 5th–8th grades June 15–June 19 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Enjoy a week of singing this summer as a member of the Youth Choir! Singers make new musical friends, improve their singing skills, sing in a variety of musical styles, and perform in a concert.

MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY

Entering 5th–8th grades June 22–June 26 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Students learn how to focus and compose outstanding shots with cell phone cameras. They also explore editing apps to make their photos pop. Both indoor and outdoor shooting expeditions are scheduled around campus.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Entering 5th-8th grades July 13 – July 17 | 12:30 p.m.– 2:30 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Discover the magic of working behind the scenes on a show production. Explore lighting, audio, special effects, makeup, costuming, set design, prop making, and more! In partnership with Gracie & Lacy.

BROADWAY STAR

Entering 5th-8th grades July 20 – July 24 | 12:30 p.m.– 2:30 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Step into the shoes of a Broadway star as you join a cast to sing and dance to Great White Way hits. Students take the stage for a special performance! In partnership with Gracie & Lacy.

Entering 5th–8th grades July 27–July 31 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Craft handmade painted gifts from the heart! Glaze (paint) up to three items, such as a small platter, cup, tile, or bowl. At the end of the week, students take home their fired artwork.

Entering 9th–12th grades August 3–August 7 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Enjoy a week of preparation for All-State Chorus auditions. Entering 7th–12th grades August 3–August 7 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Girls bring their stories to life using animated human figures, fictional characters, and settings that include perspective and facial expressions. Girls storyboard their ideas, find computer-generated images to enhance their drawings, and finish their masterpieces with ink and color!

SOLO COMPETITION PREP

Entering 9th–12th grades August 3–August 7 | 12:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m. $225 | minimum number of campers required - 5 Enjoy a week of preparation for vocal competitions. Singers must come prepared with two contrasting musical selections of their choice. Singers focus on vocal technique, dealing with performance anxiety, posture and body alignment, and character development while participating in mock auditions.

CREATIVE WRITING

Entering 7th–10th grades June 15–June 19 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $250 | minimum number of students required - 5 See Charleston through a new lens! Using town as text, students explore downtown Charleston and let the sounds and sights of the city serve as muse for creative expression. Drawing on their experiences and observations, students craft pieces of personal, reflective writing, including poems, journals, and letters.

La Musique Française

Entering 6th–9th grades June 15–June 19 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $250 | minimum number of students required - 5 French Immersion Through Music! Studies show that learning a language through music increases cognition, linguistic processing, and retention. Each day students explore a musical genre and a francophone country through music, dance, social justice, and love. Genres vary from traditional Edith Piaf cabaret songs to global Hip-Hop and island rhythms.

INTRO TO ALGEBRA II

Entering 8th–10th grades June 22–June 26 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $250 | minimum number of students required - 5 This summer workshop reviews fundamental concepts in Algebra in preparation for subsequent math courses in either Geometry or Algebra II. Students work in small groups, apply topics to scientific concepts, and have mini daily assessments for knowledge checks.

SCIENCE & MATH ACT PREP

Entering 9th–12th grades July 13–July 17 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $350 | minimum number of students required - 5 Students work alongside a seasoned instructor to gain experience in both science and math for the ACT exam. Each student receives an Applerouth Prep Book to build skills and confidence!

#GROWGIRLGROW

Entering 8th–12th grades July 20–July 24 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $250 | minimum number of students required - 5 Fascinated by succulents? Wonder how air plants live without soil? Come learn more about botanical wonders and how unique adaptations help them find success. Mornings are spent outdoors at the Elizabeth House greenhouse, with girls learning how to identify and care for a variety of potted and garden plant species, several of which they get to keep.

Entering 7th–10th grades July 27–July 31 | 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. $250 | minimum number of students required - 5 Language comes in different shapes and forms; it is dynamic. It carries and negotiates meaning as well as reveals the culture and beliefs of different speakers around the world. This summer camp looks at songs in Spanish and analyzes the language in them. Come have fun with each song's music, rhythm, and beat!

MATH & WRITING SAT PREP

Entering 9th–12th grades July 27–July 31 8:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m. $350 | minimum number of students required - 8 Join experienced instructors to engage with SAT material and learn tips on all sections of the exam. Students explore the top 20 math concepts and grammar traps and get hands-on practice with example problem sets from the exam. Instructors work with students to learn different problem solving approaches and focus on innovative strategies to build confidence and overall success.
