EASY GUITAR WITH HAZEL MANSFIELD This is an easy guitar class, appropriate to students interests. The course will teach through playing a selection of popular songs and Scottish tunes. Both Beginners and Returners are welcome, as easier music is integrated with intermediate music. The course covers a range of music, includes three chord tricks, basic exercises to develop strength in both hands with correct playing posture. We will use basic chords, guitar tuners and a capo. We are going to use some new songs, carry on learning how to read TAB and music for Guitar, and which sevenths and minor chords to play with three chord tricks. We might learn a few Bar chords as well. £40 / £34

WATERCOLOUR TECHNIQUES WITH STEPHEN TOD Stephen Tod is an artist who has spent many years teaching and is well versed painting and illustration. This class will show participants how to use watercolour paints in a way that maximises the scope of the medium. The course will suit those using watercolour paints for the first time and advanced painters looking to extend their abilities. The group can use their own photos as reference or pictures will be provided. £48 / £41

HANDMADE POSTERS WITH PEARSE O’HALLORAN

From the handmade posters used in the revolution in Paris in 1968 to Commercial digital billboards 50 years later, the art of the role of the poster has always played a huge part in modern communication. Regardless of medium, the route of all great posters is a solid idea.

The Handmade Poster workshop will aim to explore the importance of idea generation and use analog cut and paste techniques. We will play with images and type and get down to the fundamental principles of Graphic Design and Typography. The Students are open to use any material they like to create their posters with all work leading towards a collaborative exhibition piece.

HANDBUILDING CERAMICS WITH CAROL BURGIS This class is open to anyone with an interest in practicing working with clay. The class is suitable for beginners and those who have worked with clay before.

At the end of the 8 weeks, each participant should expect to have several glazed pieces of stoneware ceramic artwork (depending on size and complexity. ) £68 / £58

The skills we will practice are traditional hand building methods: pinching, coiling, slabbing and modelling. This will also involve some 2 Dimensional design work and learning about some of the processes involved to create a 3 Dimensional piece of twice fired and glazed ceramic ware.

DRYPOINT PRINT MAKING WITH ALICE MACLEOD Drypoint is a printmaking process similar to etching. The image is hand drawn on to the plate by scratching its surface using a variety of tools. These scratched lines create grooves for the ink to sit in and will then be transferred to paper by applying pressure using a printing press. This drypoint printmaking course will introduce students to the essentials of intaglio printmaking processes. Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of methods and techniques. Open to all - beginners to experienced artists are all welcome. £48 / £41

‘WAVE MIGRATION’ MIXED MEDIA ADULT WORKSHOP WITH LAURA MAYNARD This work shop will focus on learning skills and techniques in using collage, acrylic mediums and screen printing. The purpose of the workshop will be to create a piece of work about a friend or family member without actually drawing their face but by creating symbols and visual clues to produce an abstracted, layered, personal, meaningful piece of art about someone important to the artist. Participants will need to decide on a person they would like to create their piece of work about. They should bring photos and if appropriate small objects to draw from which they can then use as a starting point for stories related to their chosen subject. £55 / £47
