The original Old Pro on El Camino in Palo Alto opened its doors in 1964 and was the Bay Area’s first “Sports Bar”. The Palo Alto Oaks baseball team has been playing semi pro baseball on the Peninsula since 1950. For 50 of those years, Tony Makjavich held the team together until his passing in August 2003. Today, you can watch the Oaks almost every Sunday in June and July at Baylands park where they compete in the American Amateur Baseball Congress.
