The founder of Alhouse Realty, Bill Alhouse, was a mainstay in the Palo Alto baseball community for over 60 years until his passing in 2011. Coach Alhouse was an assistant Stanford baseball coach in the 1950s and 1960s, and was a longtime coach at Gunn High School in Palo Alto. Bill also co-founded Palo Alto Babe Ruth and Palo Alto Little League.

The Palo Alto Oaks baseball team has been playing semi pro baseball on the Peninsula since 1950. For 50 of those years, Tony Makjavich held the team together until his passing in August 2003. Today, you can watch the Oaks almost every Sunday in June and July at Baylands park where they compete in the American Amateur Baseball Congress.
