The Lifetime Skills Guarantee is a Government initiative to offer FREE Level 3 courses for adults in areas of skills shortages. By completing the courses you will be adding to your skills, knowledge and professionalism. You are also very likely to find secure and well paid employment, because there are many jobs in these areas.

Vocational Courses Our practical vocational courses range from Level 1 to Level 5, so whatever stage you’re at we have a course to suit you. Professional Courses Our suite of internationally recognised professional courses match the needs of key industries. Courses include AAT, CIPD, and Teacher Training courses (DET and CELTA). Access to Higher Education Our Access courses can provide a bridge to university in just one year or two years if you choose a distance learning Access course. Higher Education Our Higher National Diploma (HND) courses are equivalent to the first two years of university study, Levels 4 and 5. Once completed you can progress into employment or do a top-up year at university to convert your qualification to A-Level 6 full honours degree. Distance Learning, Your Place, Your Pace We have a range of distance learning courses for you to study at Levels 2 and 3, which are easily affordable and enable you to fit in study with your other commitments. 9

English Language Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses allow you to develop your skills in speaking, reading, listening and writing. Our English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses cover a higher-level English standard. Maths and English GCSEs/Functional Skills GCSEs are level 2 qualifications that are recognised by all employers and essential for many career paths and progression to Higher Education. We also offer entry level and level 1 Functional Skills qualifications that will prepare you to progress to GCSE. All our maths and English courses are for those who want to improve their reading, writing and numeracy skills. Gaining an English & Maths qualification, no matter what level, will help you progress into employment. A-Level Maths Students can study A-Levels Maths alongside their vocational course or as a standalone subject. This two-year programme will enable you to gain important UCAS points to progress onto university. Students will get a deeper understanding of maths, which is essential for a wide range of careers such as Business, Science and Computing. GCSE Science Adults can now enrol onto GCSE courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as a combination or as individual qualifications. The Skills Builder Framework is embedded into your programme of study. These essential skills will help you build a successful career.

Work Experience (only available on SWAP courses) Along with gaining valuable qualifications we offer you the opportunity of a work experience placement to develop your employability skills. Put your skills into practice, build industry contacts, learn from the professionals and watch your confidence grow. Careers Advice and Employability Skills We have exciting opportunities for our students, allowing them to obtain valuable experience within different industries and careers. For students who are looking to progress to university, our team can help and support you when applying to UCAS and help you create and submit your personal statement. We invite universities into the college where you can talk directly to representatives, as well as provide a hub of resources to guide and support you to make a decision. Training for Job Seekers We have developed a wide variety of employability programmes, a wide variety of employability programmes, giving job seekers the skills to find work. Providing work experience is a key aspect of our programmes. Due to your circumstances, you may qualify to study these courses for free. Students may have to pay additional costs (regardless of circumstances) if a course requires specialist materials or resources and where membership (such as AAT and CIPD) are paid by learners directly to the professional membership bodies.

Access to Higher Education Our Access to Higher Education Diplomas provide a route back into education and a bridge to higher education, whether you have missed out at school, had your education disrupted, or settled in the country without recognised qualifications. The one year, full-time courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of mature students providing a flexible approach to learning, using modern teaching methods and continuous assessment. Our Distance Learning Access to Higher Education courses include self-directed study, which you do at home around your other commitments, over two years.

Applied Science Our Applied Science courses engage and inspire by showing you how many contemporary issues require a grasp of fundamental scientific and mathematical ideas. Studying science will broaden your understanding of the world around you and will equip you with the skills needed to approach most matters in a reasoned and analytical manner. Classes are taught in modern well-equipped labs with plenty of practical opportunities, industry visits and field trips. You will have access to scientific magazines and journals, simulation models, laboratory equipment and scientific and mathematical software packages. Building & Construction Apprenticeships available The construction industry is the powerhouse of an economy and workers with trade skills are among the most valuable in the workforce. Hairdressing & Barbering Working in our commercial hairdressing and treatment salons, you will gain hands-on experience to prepare you for the workplace. Our industry connections mean that students benefit from regular visits from major product houses and industry professionals who offer presentations, demonstrations and workshops. Travel & Tourism The travel and tourism industry is a dynamic sector. Studying with us will help you to develop the relevant skills and knowledge to enhance your career. Our facilities include a simulated aircraft cabin and airline check-in area for a real life learning experience. All our teaching staff have previously worked in the travel and tourism industry and have a wealth of practical and relevant experience. We have great links to employers and many of our students go on to find work in the airline industry, including at British Airways, Emirates Airlines, Heathrow Terminals 3 & 5 and Swissport, with whom we have an Academy Partnership.
