Jakob recounts: “One of my most memorable moments was driving down the street from Rabat to Ta’ Mena and seeing the white chairs lined up on the hill. When I arrived I heard music coming from above and I knew, this is it now!”

As soon as the bride arrived, her sister Sarah began to sing: “We are going to the chapel and we are going to get married...” and all the bridesmaids joined in the song which could be heard by the guests up on the hill.

Although the couple had organised a jeep for their guests to be transported, Jessica decided to walk it up. “I just knew I had to walk up this hill, never mind the high heels, dress or dust, as I had my father’s strong arm to lean on. It was one of those experiences I’ll never forget.”

“Our wonderful singer Marisa Galea began the official part of the ceremony with the song “Heavenly Day” and I had to take a deep breath and just like the song goes, I was thinking: What a “Heavenly day”, says Jakob.

The ceremony was performed by none other than Jakob’s own father who is a Protestant pastor. “It made it all even more personal and intimate, especially since all our family members took an active part in the ceremony.”
