IIEE, IECEP fuses to turn EEE Week on

“These are the designated days on which celebrations mark the founding of our humble institution, it is a chance for us to come together and honor our proud history,” he stated, formally opening the celebration for the university’s founding anniversary.” Dr. Velasco, stated.

Alongside the ongoing events, organizations have built booths on tents in the Main and Lucinda Campus where the students may enjoy their gimmicks and freebies and/or buy merchandise. These stalls operated until the end of TSU Foundation Week 2022, October 22.

THE LONG awaited “The Maze Runner: Collision of Sparks and Electrics” organized by the Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers Tarlac State University Student Chapter (IIEE TSU SC) and Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) TSU SC has finally geared up this year’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) week, October 19, at the TSU’s College of Engineering and Technology (CET) Building, student center.

Engr. Aldrin Joar R. Taduran, the EE and ECE Chairperson, kicked off the program by advising both EE and ECE students to relax and enjoy as these are the goals of both the EEE Week and the Foundation Week facilitated by student organizations.

In an online interview, IIEE TSU SC Pres. Immanuel Dominic Mariano stated that, “The only goal of this event [EEE Week] is to continually foster a dynamic relationship between the two organizations.”

IECEP TSU SC Pres. John Miles Vargas then added that, “the collaboration of EE and ECE is very important because they are closely related to each other when it comes to

learning and subjects”.

Mariano mentioned that “it is essential that we must conduct more activities like this one to make them relax and enjoy being an engineer ing student” to which Vargas supplemented by saying that it allows EE and ECE students to build harmonious working relationships.

On the same day, as part of the EEE Week, students from EE and ECE both made noise as they shook the ground of the CET building when they

bonded and showed off their creativity and skills in the Maze Runner competition.

One of the champions, Jae nie Yumul, described her expe rience as definitely worth the sweat. “Nung una nakakahiya pa, tas nung mga challenge nakita talaga ‘yung pagiging competitive ng bawat group” she added.

Yumul also mentioned that new friendship was born as her team really connected amidst the heat of the battle. Otherwise, they would not be

able to win as their strategy mainly revolves around trust ing the skills of one another.

Along this, the IIEE TSU SC and IECEP TSU SC officers said that they have prepared events spanning from the 19th until the 21st of October that focuses on nurturing friend ship between each department and webinars that will help them bolt through many resistances as they go along the currents toward becom ing eminent and exceptional electrics.

Engr. Diamante: “The Challenge is Privacy”

STEERING “THE Internet of Things”, Excel Review Center’s Engr. Lenolan Diamante instructed Electrical Engineering (EE) and Electronics Engineering (ECE) students to protect their data during a webinar under EEE week, October 20, 2022, via Zoom Meeting.

The meeting began with an invocation, singing of anthems, and opening remark which was then followed by a “4 pics 1 word” game before the actual discussion of topics concerning EE and ECE students such as proximity censors and the use of the internet in their fields deliberated by Diamante.

Afterwards, Diamante cited that the internet makes a myriad of things in life more convenient and makes everything closely connected, he called for the students to use it “for the greater and good use” telling them that

they will be the future leaders of the society and therefore must act upon it accordingly.

He furthermore cautioned students to not overshare on the internet as this can harm them, he asserted his position saying that these platforms are not the proper forum to share neither personal nor professional conflicts and concerns.

Reminiscing the time when the virtual world was only a way for people to escape the realities of life, Diamante added that it is unfortunate that some people made the virtual world their whole reality and advised students to avoid that kind of life.

During the last part of the webinar, a game called “Guess the Gibberish” commenced where winners were able to obtain books provided by the Excel Review Center and a photo op before finally ending the meeting.

This webinar is part of EE’s department week celebration.

while winning suits against intellectual property thieves may be satisfying, the legal battle is arduous and very time-consuming. Just like its predecessor, the meeting ended with “Guess the Gibberish,” where winners were also awarded with books and then a photo op, marking the second and last webinar to be presented under EEE Week.

Although the said band came in 2nd, Adrian Catigay, Lead Vocalist of the band, expressed satisfaction for being able to achieve a victory despite the fact that it was their first time participating in a tournament as their band had just recently been created.

According to Adrian Catigay, “Given that we had only two opportunities to rehearse, we went into the competition with no expectations of victory. Instead, we focused on putting on a wonderful performance for the students of TSU and were pleasantly surprised by the positive responses we received.“

“To everyone who supported us along the way, we are eternally grateful. To my band, the Capital D Colon, I am overjoyed to have found a new family in you.“ Catigay added.

Further, 1st place goes to “BARZAGA” accumulating over 89.8% total score followed by “Capital D Colon”, 2nd place, obtaining a total score of 87.14% and lastly, the 3rd place to “The Collectives” with a total score of 86.3%.

And I encourage everyone, especially the girls out there, to stick to our core values and be passionate,” answered Amurao.

Unfortunately, the two female candidates from the engineering department were not selected to continue for the final round; but the engineering student’s energy did not wane as the hosts announced the candidate number of both male contes tants of engineering as Top 4 finalists.

In the Top 4 Question and Answer portion, the male candidates were asked the common question, “If you were given a chance to legal

“I guess as a student of Tarlac State University, I have noticed a lot of people who were not aware of piercings, long hair, right etiquette, proper manners, and other stuff. I believe we have our choices to choose what we are going to wear and what we are going to do in our lives, but that is under protocol and etiquettes that should be embodied to everyone. Because excellence is always established, and everything will fall out into places,” Santos answered.

Valin responded on the other hand, “I think something

that I want to be legal here in the TSU is that on some occasions, we can wear anything we want, except our uniform—. I think it is [already] the practice in the universities in Manila; They don’t have the usual uniform that we have. But I think in legalizing that, I think we TSUians, we showcase ourselves on how we dress, and I think we show our identity on how we dress and it tells so much about us on how we dress.”

At the end, Santos’ stand secured him 1st runner-up on the finale, while Valin earned the 2nd runner-up title on this years’ Mr. and Ms. TSU.

It relaxed the lineup for the winning squad in the second match, as they ended the game in an early 11 minutes wipeout, 2-0. Sweet victory is on the way for Seniors as they give their experience lead for the Freshman in a twistedturn game on the battlefield, providing a clean 3-0 win.

The critical damage of Bruno, played by ‘Minatozaki Sana’ exalts as the Finals MVP with an astonishing 12/5/16 KDA record in the third finals game.

A renewed lineup for the champs after they recruit a fellow senior Stacey Bautista (IGN:Minatozaki Sana) for their gold lane. Still on the team are team captain/ midlaner Romeo Manalang Jr. (IGN:Drip Soup), roam Rean Avila (IGN:Migusu), jungler Geoffrey Gonzales (IGN: Mysterious) and exp lane Adrian Cura (IGN: S2PiD).

On the other hand, the second placer ‘Pandecoco’ squad fell short in clinching the title but still showcased an outstanding performance consisting of Russel Jan Dizon (IGN: Otsooó), Jay Mark Tabaquero (IGN: Mist), Hamdanie Hadji Taher (IGN: AKISE), Vincent Laxamana

(IGN: Forsythe), and Raymund Patrick Zapanta (IGN: Lynyrd).

In an online interview, the ‘three-peat’ champs said they have short preparation for this year’s tournament.

“Nag classic lang po kame mga 3 days kase mababa rank isa namen gm lang siya. Every practice 2 classic game tapos scrim den kaso isang beses lang po. Also nag pray lang kame”, he added.

For their winning tactic, for every first game, they pick comfort heroes like Balmond, Claude, and Atlas as they master utilizing these for better execution of plays. But the truth, as they said, the team’s name defines their secret “NoStrat” means no strategy.

The experience advantage also gave the team the confidence to drive their way into a ‘three-peat’ situation.

“For us, winning is playing happily with your best teammates.”, said jungler Geoffrey Gonzales.

In the live streaming facilitated by PICE-TSU SC, the CE students cheer their bet on the tournament. Jherveen Bautista and Ian De Jesus serve as the Shout casters, while Carmelo Magno handles the stream.

The winning team ‘NoStrat’ again takes home a Php 2,000 cash prize and e-certificate prepared by TSU-PICE SC.
