t one time, Meredith was a farming community and later, a center for the mill industry. Today, the town is bustling year round, with the charming Mill Falls complex of unique shops in a former mill building with more shops nearby. Originally named Palmerstown, the community was granted by charter in the 1740s. The downtown is steps from Lake Winnipesaukee with easy docking. A unique sculpture walk winds through the village and along the water. Nicknamed the “Latchkey to the White Mountains,” Meredith is situated between several lakes yet is a short drive to the spectacular mountains with a wide variety of recreational activities. Meredith has something for everyone – from shopping, dining in a variety of restaurants, craft fairs, community events, live theatre, concerts and water recreation. Come by boat and anchor at the town docks where the M/S Mount Washington stops during the summer and fall. A Pond Hockey Tournament and a very popular winter Rotary Ice Fishing Derby keep things busy in the colder months. Planning a wedding or event? Rustic and elegant Church Landing is located in downtown Meredith just steps from the water and is a very popular place for a wedding or party.
