IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

ST YLE EV ENTS, NE WS & GOSSI P FR O M A R O U N D O R L A N D O

By Riesa Pascal

As we get ready to enjoy one of the most gorgeous months in the City Beautiful, let’s not forget about the fun-filled, spooktacular month of October! From terrifying haunted houses to eating way more candy than you’d ever admit, let’s take a look back at how Orlando came to life with a variety of Halloween-inspired fun last month. Here are the highlights, just in case you missed it! Naturally, the Halloween season brought with it the return of the world’s premier halloween event...Halloween Horror Nights! The 2023 event returned with a vengeance with 10 terrifying haunted houses, 5 pulse-pounding scare zones and outrageous live entertainment. This year’s spooky haunted houses were based on Stranger Things, The Exorcist, The Last of Us, Chucky and much more. Fortunately, some of Universal’s most exhilarating attractions also remained open to offer guests thrilling escapes for when the fear got to be too much. The event continues running through November 4th so don’t miss out on the fun! Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ran on select nights through November 1st and was a perfect outing for the whole family and kiddos of all ages. As well as trick-ortreating, a whole host of spooky specials were happening at the beloved annual event. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade featured an array of spooky floats, Disney villains and characters dressed in their Halloween best in addition to the Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show starred the wicked Sanderson Sisters while Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular was a can’t-miss nighttime extravaganza hosted by Jack Skellington featuring projections, special effects, fireworks, music and unforgettable Disney characters. All month long, SeaWorld Spooktacular 10 | ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

CITY NEWS

was perfect for the entire family to have some trick and treating fun. The little ones loved SeaWorld’s underwater “fantasea” with bright and colorful whimsical creatures, trick-or-treating, Mermaid Grotto, Halloween Dance Party, Sesame Street Halloween Happenings and more. SeaWorld Orlando even joined in the adult scare factor with Howl-O-Scream that saw guests make their way through Scare Zones as they tried to avoid angry haunts out to get them. There was no use in escaping by running indoors as guests would quickly find themselves in spooky haunted houses! The festivities brought much fun and horror to Halloween thrill-seekers in Orlando. For those who were ready to embrace the spooky season and indulge in Halloween fun like never before, Leu Gardens introduced their all new “Happy Frights Haunting Nights” event. Presented by Massey Services and brought to life by Creative City Project and Memoir Agency, “Happy Frights Haunting Nights” offered two distinct Halloween adventures to choose from. Happy Frights was a familyfriendly option perfect for all ages. It featured immersive worlds, live characters, and even 8 trick-or-treat stations along the way. Visitors met a dancing bridgetroll, explored a neon-light maze, and experienced much more Halloween magic. For those who sought an elevated, artful, and slightly more thrilling experience, Haunting Nights allowed guests to encounter spooky characters, navigate a forest of eyes, immerse themselves in the world of Dia de Muertos and more. Both events ran on select nights from September 29- October 31. The Taste of Space: Marstini Shake-Off returned to Kennedy Space Center on October 6th inside Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex. Visitors had the opportunity to visit multiple culinary stations, tasting flavors of the fall while mingling with astronauts. In addition to delicious sips and bites, participating local bars and restaurants went head-to-head

in a competition, creating their idea of a “Marstini” cocktail for guests to taste and virtually vote for their favorites in the People’s Choice award. Full versions of the “Masrstini” cocktail were made available for purchase throughout the evening. Participating bars and restaurants included The Space Bar, Jack & Harry's, Playalinda Brewing Company - Brix Project, The Alibi Cocktails & Bites, 28 North Gastropub, and Lourdes Library. Even the "Alligator Capital of the World" rang in the 2023 Halloween season with a special event that included spooky fun for everyone! From October 14th-29th, the 5th Annual “Gators, Ghosts and Goblins at Gatorland'' was included with the regular price of park admission and featured several spooky themed areas throughout the park complete with ghoulish actors, selfie zones, fun shows and a variety of specialty vendors. Something new this year was the “Creepy Creature Carnival” which saw guests come face-to-face with moonlight monsters who have taken over a carnival midway. Families could earn candy after playing carnival games including Coffin Cornhole or a brain tossing game at the Franken-Factory. Over at the Cryptid Express, guests boarded the park’s small train where they spotted hidden beasts around the park including the Florida Skunk Ape, Moth Man, Chupacabra and many more. Orlando in October doesn’t bring the cooler weather usually associated with fall, but that doesn’t stop us from cozying up in Central Florida! Just like we have Now Snowing at Christmas, the Town of Celebration also treated us to Falling Leaves during Celebration Florida Oktoberfest. From October 21-22, leaves fell 3 times a night at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm along Market Street. Visitors enjoyed the one-of-a-kind experience featuring hayrides, pumpkins, holiday shopping, dining and even live entertainment by local Orlando-based artists including Lovestruck Robot, Hello Sister and Cat Ridgeway.

The Orlando Air & Space Show soared over Orlando when the spectacular event returned to Orlando Sanford International Airport on October 28-29. Thousands of people flocked to the airport to see the world famous U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon while performing a combination of formation and solo maneuvers in an inspiring, patriotic, high energy demonstration. Also taking part in this year's show were the spectacular F-35 Lighting II, also known as the Joint Strike Fighter, which is the most advanced stealth fighter in the world today. The full capabilities demonstration of the F-35 featured 12 different maneuvers and lasted approximately 15 minutes. Michael Goulian, one of the top aerobatic pilots in the world, also took to the skies performing jaw-dropping maneuvers that combined the heart-stopping gyroscopic tumbling of modern display flying with the crisp, aggressive, demands of precision competition aerobatics.

"FROM TERRIFYING HAUNTED HOUSES TO EATING WAY MORE CANDY THAN YOU’D EVER ADMIT, LET’S TAKE A LOOK BACK AT HOW ORLANDO CAME TO LIFE WITH A VARIETY OF HALLOWEENINSPIRED FUN LAST MONTH"

NOVEMBER

REMINDERS By Maha Chaudhry

November is a month known for expressing gratitude which makes it a fitting time to begin self-reflecting on all the experiences, memories and ways we grew during the year coming to a near end. However, no matter the time of year, it is imperative to remind ourselves of how far we’ve come. Here are a few reminders to encourage us in the now and for the future. 1. You may have not accomplished as

much as you had intended, but you still progressed.

It is important to note that sometimes we make plans, and other times, plans are made for us. This doesn’t mean we are behind in life, it means that we are flowing at the pace needed for us in the moment. It’s not a race, it’s a journey. Instead of reminiscing on what you have not done yet or what needs to be done, take a few minutes to recognize all that you were able to do, all the small wins, all the experiences, and understand you are where you need to be right here, right now. 2. The company you keep is either

helping you grow or holding you back.

They say you are a product of the five people you spend the most time with. In other words, these five people are the most influential on your future. Consider asking yourself, are the people I am surrounding myself with helping me thrive or are

14 | ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

they bringing me down? If it’s the ladder, consider seeking a circle that will support you, help you grow and encourage you to be become a better version of yourself Even if it is in the form of a mentor. 3. You are never alone. Stress and overwhelm can leave us feeling isolated and alone. But that’s not the case. The truth is that we are never alone. Support can be found beyond friends and family, so if you feel that’s where you are lacking, seek it out from places that will be better suited for you. There are organizations, meet-up groups and even apps to help you get connected to likeminded people that share the same goals and interests as you, and they are easily accessible. Remember, you don’t have to do hard things alone. Asking for help when you need it is the smart move, never a weak one.

4. Always seek meaning. Real success comes from feeling good about who you are, not about how much you have. Although it is perfectly acceptable to want more for yourself monetarily, do understand that to receive true contentment, you must seek substance over superficiality. Focusing on substance (meaning) will keep you grounded and aligned with the things that matter most to you in life. The meaningful things are of most value. 5. Peace of mind over everything. Peace of mind really is everything. When making life decisions, always prioritize your sanity. If you feel an opportunity or situation may jeopardize it, consider it twice before jumping onboard because chances are that it will not be worth it in the long run. Instead, seek opportunities that feel good in your body and are true to who you are. In essence, opportunites that will noruish your soul.

ARTS & CULTURE

ARTS

Albert E. Backus , (ca. 1950s), The Fisherman's Shack

A MOTHER, POSSIBLY October 20, 2023 – May 5, 2024 at Orlando Museum of Art This exhibition features an eclectic group of artists exploring themes of mothers, motherhood, fertility, and representation in various mediums and time periods, showcasing works from OMA's collection and local loans.

THE FRIENDS OF AMERICAN ART COLLECTION Thirty Years of Collecting Now - January 28, 2024 at Orlando Museum of American Art In 1993, a passionate group of individuals came together to establish the "Friends of American Art" (FAA) with a clear objective: to enhance the Orlando Museum of Art's permanent collection of traditional American art. Over the years, the acquisitions made by FAA have played a pivotal role in shaping the historical foundation of the museum's entire art collection. These additions stand as enduring resources, enriching the experience and knowledge of the museum's visitors.

Titus Kaphar, (2021), Analogous Colors

As of 2023, FAA proudly boasts a substantial achievement of having acquired a total of

12 exceptional works of art for the Orlando Museum of Art. This exhibition serves as a tribute to three decades of FAA's dedicated efforts and showcases the remarkable artworks that the group has acquired. Additionally, it acknowledges the generous contributions from FAA's affiliates, who have played an integral part in the group's mission. Together, FAA and its affiliates have made significant strides in preserving and celebrating the legacy of traditional American art within the museum's collection, ensuring it remains a source of inspiration and education for generations to come.

VISUAL CONVERSATIONS

Now - January 28, 2024 at Orlando Museum of American Art The Orlando Museum of Art's exhibition displays artworks from its permanent collection, strategically juxtaposed to inspire fresh interpretations and narratives. This innovative approach prompts new cross-temporal and cross-media dialogues, engaging both seasoned art enthusiasts and newcomers. The paired works reveal intriguing connections and contrasts, spanning themes, styles, forms, and concepts, offering a diverse visual experience and thought-provoking comparisons. For example, Thomas Mickell Burnham's 19th-century "The Young Artist" is displayed alongside Jared McGriff 's 21st-century portrayal of youthful street life, showcasing the evolution of artistic representation. Furthermore, these pairings offer a glimpse into the collection's history, reflecting shifts in tastes and values over the institution's nearly century-long existence. The exhibition also challenges conventional interpretations, emphasizing the pivotal role of context in art appreciation and encouraging the audience to question how the placement and associations of artworks can dramatically alter their meaning and significance.

HEALTH

The Art of Happiness FINDING JOY IN EVERYDAY LIFE In the fast-paced world we live in, the pursuit of happiness is a universal goal. Yet, true happiness often seems elusive, overshadowed by the challenges of daily life. However, happiness is not a destination but a journey, and it can be cultivated with the right mindset and practices.

By Natalie Smith

Pursue Passion, Not Perfection Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Pursue hobbies and interests that make your heart sing, without the pressure of perfection. Embrace the process and relish the satisfaction of doing something you love. Acts of Kindness

Gratitude

One of the simplest paths to happiness is gratitude. Taking a moment each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for can shift your focus from what you lack to what you have. This simple practice can bring immense joy and contentment.

Performing acts of kindness, whether big or small, not only brings happiness to others but also boosts your own happiness. Helping someone in need, volunteering, or even a simple smile can create a positive ripple effect. Healthy Lifestyle

Healthy Relationships

Building and nurturing meaningful relationships is fundamental to happiness. Spending time with loved ones, fostering connections, and being empathetic can create a strong support system, providing emotional security and fulfillment.

Taking care of your physical health is closely linked to mental and emotional well-being. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and sufficient sleep contribute to overall happiness. A healthy body supports a healthy mind. Embrace Challenges

Mindfulness and Presence

Being present in the moment is a key to happiness. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and yoga, can help you appreciate the beauty of the present, reduce stress, and enhance overall wellbeing.

18 | ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

Life is filled with ups and downs. Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth can shift your perspective. Resilience in the face of adversity fosters a sense of accomplishment and strengthens your ability to navigate life’s uncertainties.

Disconnect to Reconnect

In the age of technology, it’s essential to disconnect from digital devices and connect with the world around you. Spend quality time with loved ones, engage in nature, and be present in your experiences without the distractions of screens. Practice Self-Compassion

Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a dear friend. Embracing self-compassion nurtures a positive self-image and promotes happiness from within. In conclusion, happiness is not a constant state but a series of moments that can be experienced through conscious effort and mindset. By practicing gratitude, nurturing relationships, staying present, and taking care of your well-being, you can embark on a fulfilling journey towards lasting happiness. Remember, happiness is not found in the pursuit of perfection, but in the acceptance of imperfection and the appreciation of life's simple pleasures.

SKIN CARE Embrace Autumn's Beauty: Your Guide to Healthy, Glowing Skin By Omayra La Bella

It is not just the leaves that change with the welcoming of the autumn season; your skin does, too. While the autumn weather may encourage outdoor activities, your skin keeps less moisture because of the cooler, drier air. The crisp air and wind that comes with the autumn season can leave your skin feeling dry, which means it is likely to be more sensitive than normal. For me personally I see signs of irritation, like redness or a splotchy complexion. You may even notice your skin is not feeling its best, as it may appear dull or have a few rough patches of dryness. It is not a good look, and it is certainly not comfortable to deal with. Throughout this, your skin is doing its best to stay hydrated. But when there is less moisture in the air and harsher conditions, it becomes more of a challenge. Key symptoms of what I refer to as “Autumn Skin,” include dryness, dull and sallow skin tone, flaking and irritation, as well as the flare-up of chronic conditions.

"Autumn weather dries your skin, making it more sensitive, with signs of irritation and dullness. Protect your skin with the right skincare routine to maintain a beautiful complexion"

While there is no single solution, I can help you to protect your skin, as I do mine from the cooling weather, by adjusting my skincare routine. I recommend using gentle cleansers (INNATA’s - Cucumber Daily Cleanser), using exfoliators to remove dead skin (INNATA’s Exfoliating Face Scrub) and by moisturizing (INNATA’s - Hydrating Moisturizer) and never forget to hydrate around your eyes (INNATA’s – Cucumber Herbal Eye Gel). The idea is to protect the skin barrier from breaking down due to temperature changes. While you should get into the habit of moisturizing your skin morning and night no matter the season, it is even more important to do so as the temperature cools. Moisturizing is a crucial step in supporting your skin’s healthy cells and to protect it from irritation and breakouts. Those who moisturize faithfully like me are much more likely to have beautiful complexions. By moisturizing, you reduce your chances of any skin problems arising. Facial moisturizers help balance your skin’s complexion and prevent acne breakouts. Moisturizing is not just for women — it is an important habit for men as well, to incorporate into their daily routine. Making sure your skin cells are well hydrated will help to prevent breakouts and ensure beautiful skin in the future. Since moisturizers are meant to soak into the skin and not wash off, it is one of the easiest steps in my skincare regime. Many of the best facial moisturizers have vitamins and other beneficial ingredients, which is a bonus for your skin. Taking care of your skin is crucial when it comes to self-love and using moisturizers to keep your skin healthy is important for any skincare routine. So next time you step out of the shower and prepare for your busy day, do yourself a favor and grab and use INNATA – Inspired by Omayra La Bella, natural skincare products. I highly recommend them as they have been working for me for the past several years on making my skin feel and look younger. You can find their complete product line at www.innataskincare.com

PUMPKIN SPICE

OLD FASHIONED!

A Fun Fall Cocktail! Autumn's arrival is unmistakable, not by a date on a calendar or shifting temperatures, but by the ubiquitous presence of pumpkin spice lattes adorning coffee shop menus and held tightly in the hands of everyone around you. At its worst, this unofficial fall emblem is a cloying, artificial approximation of the seasonal gourd. At its best, it's a splendid marriage of flavors, often involving bourbon. The Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned, crafted by Scott Allen, the bar manager at Copper Lounge in Los Angeles, elevates the typical overly sweetened fare. It features a homemade syrup infused with pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, and vanilla extract, creating a liquid embodiment of pumpkin pie's fall flavors. This pumpkin elixir shares the spotlight with Breckenridge bourbon, a Coloradoproduced whiskey known for its butterscotch and candied orange aromas, as well as notes of chocolate, vanilla, and spicy white pepper. A muddled orange slice introduces a refreshing burst of citrus that harmonizes with the bourbon, while a few dashes of orange bitters enhance the citrus profile, creating a cohesive and delightful concoction. Ingredients: 1/2 ounce of pumpkin syrup* 2 dashes of orange bitters 1 orange wedge 2 ounces of Breckenridge bourbon 1 splash of club soda (optional) Garnish: cinnamon stick Steps Begin by adding the pumpkin syrup, orange bitters, and an orange wedge to an Old Fashioned glass. Muddle the ingredients together. Pour in the Breckenridge bourbon, add a large ice cube, and if you prefer a lighter touch, a splash of club soda. Stir gently using a cinnamon stick to meld all the elements together. To make the pumpkin syrup Combine 1 cup of water and 3/4 cup of light brown sugar in a saucepan. Simmer until the sugar fully dissolves. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in 3 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice and 1/3 cup of pumpkin puree. Let it simmer on low for 8 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and store the syrup in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container for up to a month. Indulge in the Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned and savor the season's essence, one sip at a time.

PARISIAN PASSION BALMAIN'S SS24 SHOW ILLUMINATES PARIS FASHION WEEK

Oliver Rousteing's Triumph Over Adversity and Celebration of Love and Beauty By Josie Nejame

You knew it was going to be an incredible show when Mother Nature herself was involved. The Fall Equinox had begun on a brisk autumn Parisian evening, the full moon in Aires illuminating the night sky preparing for passions and intentions. This was a breathtaking prelude to the brilliant Oliver Rousteing’s Balmain’s SS24 show, held during Paris Fashion Week. The runway was staged at the magnificent Palais de Chaillot, the backdrop being the famed Eiffel Tower which glistened through the windows for all to see. Vibrant colors, bejeweled florals made from recycled plastic bottles, patent leather and latex walked through the runway. The show was in part a nod to founder Pierre Balmain’s 1940s/50s archive with his love of florals and of course Oliver’s modern interpretation of the fierce and feminine Balmain woman. Models walked across in romantic rose prints with fluid tailoring and full femininity on display. Staying true to Balmain’s couture roots and fine craftmanship there were blazers and dresses adorned with bejeweled swallows, a sign of good luck, structured powered suits, exaggerated shoulders, cinched waists, and elongated white lapels. Polka-dot prints on shirts, skirts and dresses were reimag-

ined. The strategically placed silky rosettes were a conflation of a sixteenth century ideal which warded off bad luck with a modern century absolute of “love is in the air”. Caped toed square pumps, heels covered in petals, bold looking sunglasses and bouquet inspired handbags accompanied the upcoming Spring and Summer looks in exquisite detail. In his show notes, Rousteing reflected, “Love is complex-every rose, after all, comes with its thorns.” Illustrative of this observation, two weeks before he presented his SS24 show, 50 pieces of his SS24 collection were stolen. With his extraordinary, gifted atelier endlessly working to re-create some of the stolen pieces, the show came out with roses, figuratively and literally. Rousteing proudly and joyfully recognized his incredible team for helping to make the show the celebration of love and beauty that he envisioned, despite the challenges his team had to work with. Rousteing has risen against adversity throughout his personal and professional life. Once again, he overcame the difficulties presented and again showed himself to be the young master he is. He became creative director of Balmain in 2011, at 25.

Oliver was the youngest creative director in Paris since Yves Saint Laurent for Christian Dior, but also one of the first Black designers to helm a luxury fashion house. Oliver Rousteing’s been honored at Parson’s School of design for his monumental achievement as Balmain’s creative director and diversity champion and by France’s Competences with the award for inclusivity in his work. To set a style consultation for Balmain’s collection, please contact: michelle.perales@ fourseasons.com As you shop Balmain’s newest arrivals and iconic styles at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando’s Wardrobe boutique, a portion of all sales from November 1-5 will be donated to Runway to Hope, a Central Florida charity that provides direct support to children and families that have been affected by pediatric cancer. To learn more about how you can support Runway to Hope please visit www.runwaytohope.org.

Orlando’s new high-speed train offers quick and convenient trips down South for an unparalleled weekend of fun in the sun!

RIDE

BRIGHTER to Miami with Brightline After years of construction, months of hype and weeks of eager anticipation, the moment we’ve all been waiting for finally arrived! On September 22nd, Brightline officially opened its newest doors for Central Florida locals and tourists alike to travel easily to Miami on Orlando’s first high-speed train. To say I was excited for my own experience riding Brightline would be an understatement as my companion and I had been looking forward to our Brightline journey to Miami for weeks. The new station was conveniently located near Orlando International Airport’s Terminal C with a similar drop-off/pick-up point, but that’s where the similarities ended. You’ll quickly notice that getting through security for Brightline is a lot less hectic and stressful than TSA’s security for flying. There was no need for passengers to remove shoes or electronics and best of all, no restrictions on liquids— just a quick scan of our luggage and ticket was all that was required. In just a few short minutes, we were on the other side of check-in hanging out in Brightline’s Premium Lounge and awaiting our highly-anticipated departure.

TRAVEL ‘N STYLE

Though access to the lounge does require a Premium ticket, many may find the upgrade to be worth it as the spacious area offered cozy seating and complimentary access to various beverages, fruits and pastries that were perfect for our early morning departure. Also unlike airline travels, boarding for Brightline began just 10 minutes before our departure and proved to be just as quick and convenient as check-in. Upon settling into our lush premium class seats, we were soon introduced to our cabin crew for the journey, Evencio and Ann. To say they took care of our every need would be a gross understatement as it felt more like we had been life-long friends by the time we pulled up to Brightline Miami station just a few hours later. Between Evencio’s hilarious quips and Ann’s cheerful spirit, the ride was an absolutely joyful experience highlighted by even more complimentary snacks and beverages including tasty mimosas that we cheered with in celebration of our Miami adventure weekend. After experiencing the convenience of traveling on Brightline, it only made sense to follow it up with an equally convenient stay at YOTELPAD Miami located just a few minutes walk from the station and directly across the bridge from the world famous South Beach. YOTEL Miami consists of cleverly-designed rooms while YOTELPAD Miami, situated right above the hotel, features sleek, modern condominium style PADs. Using YOTELPAD as our homebase for the weekend while off on explorations proved to be the right choice. Designed for longer

term stays for both business and leisure travelers, we loved the hassle-free solution to living accommodations in a comfortable space that felt like a home away from home. After taking a moment to drop off our bags and take in some incredible skyline views from our private balcony, it was time to hit the road again for lunch at Okeydokey in Brickell. Okeydokey is three floors of ‘eats, drinks and beats’ featuring 6 of Miami’s top restaurants, world class mixologist and a blend of dj, live music and entertainment in one of Miami’s busiest neighborhoods. From Mediterranean at Atlas and Asian Fusion at MAC - Modern Asian Cuisine to Italian at Dalplin and everything in between, be sure to give yourself plenty of time for your dining experience as you’ll need the extra minutes to browse Okeydokey’s extensive menu of mouthwatering offerings. Seated outside in their lush patio, my companion and I ultimately decided on a citrus marinade, half-rotisserie chicken from Little Bird and a grilled salmon bowl from Yoso Ramen. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! The juicy, expertly prepared chicken was perfectly complemented with crispy tostones and a fresh side salad. Meanwhile, my companion’s Scottish salmon served on a bed of avocado, edamame, seaweed salad, cucumber and sushi rice was delicious down to her very last bite. Following such a satisfying lunch, it seemed like a great idea to let our food settle while exploring an immersive art experience in Allapattah called Superblue. With that being said, put aside whatever

notion you currently hold about a typical art gallery with paintings and artifacts hanging from walls, because everything in Miami is far from the ordinary and that includes Superblue. The venue may have looked like a warehouse on the outside, but the large space inside was divided into multiple rooms and experiential exhibits that guests walked through to experience various "Trippy, Meditative, Gorgeous" activations as so eloquently put by the New York Times. In one room was a canopy of 3,000 glowing lights that uses a technology called photoplethysmography to make the bulbs flicker to the pulse of participant heartbeats. Walk into another room and you will find 30-foot ceilings where interactive projections of flowers are growing on the walls. Then swap flowers on the ground with clouds in the sky in the next room as you don a poncho and goggles to experience the eerie sensation of walking through foam-like clouds. We enjoyed all the above and more via this unique, increasingly popular Miami attraction. One of the more beautiful things about South Florida is the diversity of culture which is perhaps most heavily reflected in the variety of cuisine offerings. I had never had the experience of dining on Israeli cuisine, but our trip offered the perfect opportunity to explore Tel Aviv while in the heart of Miami at Branja in Upper Buena Vista. Branja’s bold and creative remixing of Mediterranean and contemporary worldwide recipes brought our first day to a phenomenal close with a lovely dinner of crispy chicken schnitzel for myself and seafood paella STYLETOME.COM | 35

with fisherman’s catch, creamy orzo, peppers and other fresh ingredients for my companion. In the semi-open outdoor dining room, guests sit at handcrafted terrazzo-top tables and reclaimed synagogue benches under the bows of a magical bodhi tree. Retro art vignettes combined with Branja’s vibrant bohemian decor sparked a feeling of genuine shalom that stayed with us for the remainder of the evening. The following morning kicked off with a hearty breakfast at Yotel Miami’s Vela. Though evening hours sees the 84-seat bar and restaurant turn into a vibrant nightlife lounge offering classic cocktails with a twist and scrumptious food, the morning menu included a selection of breakfast options that proved to be the perfect fuel for our day of explorations in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. More than 75,000 gallons of paint and 100,000 spray cans has turned the Wynwood Walls into a globally renowned street art museum consisting of art by over 100 artists from 21 different countries. With 35,000 square feet of photo-worthy wall space, the museum has transformed the definition of modern art and helped to make Wynwood one of the world’s most celebrated urban revitalization projects and an oasis for cutting-edge creativity. Walking through the colorful grounds and gorgeous exhibits was a definite highlight of our weekend and an experience I would encourage anyone visiting Miami to partake in. Following our Wynwood adventure, we made our way across the street to Bakan for a flavorful, authentic Mexican lunch in a beautiful outdoor setting. I decided to order the hand-crafted robalo chileno tacos with seabass, veggies, yuzu-basil, guacamole and black beans while my companion opted for the popular pollo con salsa de tomatillo-chipotle quesadilla with oaxaca cheese, pulled chicken and

36 | STYLETOME.COM

tomatillo-chipotle salsa. As exquisite as both of our dining choices were, I would be remiss to not mention our deliciously refreshing mango margaritas that made it abundantly clear why Bakan totes themselves as being experts in tequila and mezcal. A second round of drinks followed later that evening at YOTEL’s Sunset Happy Hour at Vela Sky which is a must-do activity during your stay. Located on the 12th floor, the rooftop bar offers a bird’s eye view into the magical city of Miami while allowing patrons to enjoy light bites, island inspired cocktails and even a dip in the rooftop pool as the sun sets around you. When night fell, we departed for Miami’s famed Little Havana to close out our fabulous weekend with an unforgettable dinner show at Calle Dragones. A tribute to Cuba and its cultural influences, Calle Dragones resembles the streets of Old Havana and features Asian-Latin cuisine blended with Chinese and Caribbean ingredients and cooking techniques. My companion and I absolutely devoured a char siu pork belly appetizer before our savory duck confit fried rice main was served. As if their carefully crafted menu wasn’t enough reason to stop by, our dinner was also accompanied by worldclass performances with some of the city’s most acclaimed musicians and talented performers. As the evening continued, a live latin band playing various hits got us up and dancing the night away with other laughing guests on the crowded dance floor. The following morning it was time to make our return to Orlando though we managed to squeeze in a few hours at The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science located downtown just minutes from YOTEL. Sitting on four acres, the 250,000-squarefoot museum is divided into four distinct buildings: the Aquarium, the Frost Planetarium, and the North and West Wings. The unique campus-like setting takes guests on a journey from the ocean to the Everglades, and from the human cell to outer space investigating life as we know it while exploring the process of science and

innovation. Perfect for children—and the curious inner child in all of us—including Frost Science on your itinerary is a great choice, but be sure to leave enough time to take in all six floors of interactive exhibitions that the attraction has to offer! Unsurprisingly, our trip home on Brightline was as quick, convenient and enjoyable as our journey down. Our train departed promptly at the scheduled time and the hours of travel flew by as my companion and I reminisced on the incredible weekend we experienced in Miami thanks to Orlando’s new, hasslefree method of high-speed train travel South. Brightline’s complimentary Wi-Fi and power outlets even made uploading and posting about our many memories a literal breeze. With stops in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach in addition to Miami, I am confident that I will be back on Brightline and the success they’ve already experienced in just their first full month of operation makes it evident to me that others in our city are feeling the same. As I basked under the luminous sun and watched the vibrant royal and aqua-blue shores glisten with sparkle, I thought to myself, I am exactly where I need to be right here, right now. That’s the feeling you get when you visit the beautiful Meliá Punta Cana Resorts in the Dominican Republic, and I had the pleasure of staying at two of the stunning hotels within the complex, beginning with Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort, followed by Falcon’s Resorts. I also visited the all-inclusive wellness resort - Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness-Inclusive Resort. Here, I had the pleasure of exploring the serene property and stepping into pure spa bliss which left me feeling absolutely rejuvenated, not to mention, smelling like fresh Dominican cacao (more on this later). The Meliá resorts are an international brand and one of the world’s leading leisure hotel companies operating more than 380 hotels throughout 40 countries. In Punta Cana, their complex comprises of five hotels that can all be found within the same premises and traveled to one another by a motor cart system operated by the resort. The stunning architecture of the resorts is brought to you by Alvaro Sans from Arquitectura Hotelera. Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort

Arriving at Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort felt like I had just stepped into a tropical paradise, and in my head Madonna’s La Isla Bonita was playing simultaneously. I was greeted by friendly smiles and a passionfruit infused concoction that was delightfully refreshing on a particularly warm day. My stay would be in the Reserve section of the resort which meant an exclusive adultsonly premium experience that includes access to VIP areas across the resort, private pools and private beaches. The check-in is separate for this area and you receive a personal concierge service during your stay. If you opt for a more family-friendly experience at the resort, you might select to upgrade with the Nikté selection, which would also offer you luxury comfort in the newly renovated rooms.

My Junior Suite Garden Room comprised of stunning views of two pools and the ocean to the right. Hues of blue and green surrounded me and I was captivated by the dreaminess of it. The room was both elegant and cozy and featured earth tones, rustic wood furnishings, and a furnished balcony with ample room. As tired as I was from my early morning flight, I didn’t want to waste a minute not taking advantage of the many amenities the resort had to offer, beginning with the private cabanas overlooking Bávaro Beach. I had access to over eleven restaurants and bars. However, my mornings would begin at the Ginger Bar, where I couldn’t get enough of the strawberry, ginger and pineapple-mint smoothies.

THE MELIÁ RESORTS ARE AN INTERNATIONAL BRAND AND ONE OF THE WORLD’S LEADING LEISURE HOTEL COMPANIES OPERATING MORE THAN 380 HOTELS THROUGHOUT 40 COUNTRIES.

Aside from the splendid dining options, a winery that allows for private wine tastings, and a Zen-style spa that offers a pinwheel selection of the four elements: Earth, Fire, Air and Water, I was most impressed with the excursions offered to all guests staying at the resort, free of cost. Ours began with a catamaran cruise to another side of the Caribbean shores. Our boat journey included a breathing meditation prior to our final stop for a private beach yoga session. I can’t say that I have ever meditated on a boat before, but the stillness of the shores while absorbing the sun added a grounding touch. The yoga session was exactly what you would imagine yoga on the beach to be - relaxing, peaceful and picturesque. As I stood tree-pose, I breathed in the smell of palm freshness, I took in the oceanic views and sank my feet into the soft white sand. I was undoubtedly in my element. Of all the restaurants at Paradisus, my favorite dining experience was at the Mina restaurant. I sampled the Iron mushrooms, which featured a delicate charcoal roasted flavor and smoke oil with truffle, a Salmon Roulade which was enhanced with rosemary, on top of nonstop tastings of fresh cuts of sirloin, appetizers and beyond. All-in-all, Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort was a wonderful way to begin the trip to Punta Cana. The large resort with 596

rooms, featured everything you could need in an all-inclusive stay, including beautiful views of the garden and beach. Here are my favorite perks: • Adult-only exclusive areas and pools • Off-site excursions offered to all guests staying at the resort • Beach-front access to Bávaro Beach Falcon’s Resort by Meliá

Next on the itinerary was Falcon’s Resort by Meliá. This time, my view was different but I was just as pleased with it. I stayed in a Beyond Suite Swim-Up room which had direct access to a pool that felt both private and secluded. My terrace also included a private bath tub. I particularly enjoyed the feeling of privacy and luxury combined for a tranquil experience. Falcon’s is a newly opened 5-star all-inclusive resort with 432 rooms, and a result of a multimillion-dollar renovation in an effort to create a “resortainment” concept in Punta Cana. Guests can upgrade their stay to The Beyond Suite experience which includes a personal concierge service, exclusive upgrades,

superior dining, and free multi-day entrance to the on-premise theme park, Katmandu. Whether or not guests choose to upgrade, they will still receive single day entry to the theme park. The Falcon’s Resort is home to about nine specialty restaurants, each specializing in a different style of cuisine such as Latin, Asian, Mediterranean and Caribbean. It was also the first time I tried Peruvian-Japanese style sushi at a restaurant called Machu, which I have to say was so satisfying. The vibe was on point and I especially esteemed the live entertainment. During the stay at the resort, guests can indulge not only at the restaurants but also by the pool. The special feature, “Bali Beds” is included for all guests staying at the hotel. It began with a silent disco, followed by refreshments and then either a hand or foot massage. I don’t know about you, but when I hear foot massage, I think, say no more. Katmandu

Recently opened in 2023, Katmandu is a world-class theme park. The theme is mostly

virtual, as the experience is full of immersive rides and adventures. I felt it was a smaller combination of both Universal Studios and Walt Disney World® Resort in terms of the original characters and simulator rides. The theme park is open to guests of the resorts, as well as the general public. Transportation is provided to guests using the motor carts, and they run throughout the day and during operating hours of the park. Overall, for a more adventurous experience, Falcon’s Resort is a great choice. You can select the BeyondME™ option to level up your stay with even more personalized interactivity, and earn XP (experience points) while you are at it! But I have to say, this is what appealed to me most: • Free admission to Katmandu for all resort guests • Superior live dining selections and entertainment throughout the resort • Swim-up private style suites

The Wellness and Spa Experience at Meliá Punta Cana Beach All-inclusive Wellness Resort

And last but not least, there was the unforgettable YHI Spa experience. It began with a motor cart ride to the resort from Falcon’s and a warm welcome on site. The adults-only Meliá Punta Cana Beach Allinclusive Wellness Resort is the epitome of serenity with ponds flowing throughout the property, beginning from the lobby. If you stay here, rest assured, you will receive a “Wellbeing 360 Experience.” The experience will be enriched with newly daily programming, revamped social areas and refreshed culinary offerings. After exploring the gorgeous property, I headed to the spa for my very first Cacao body treatment. The Dominican Republic is notorious for growing exceptional cacao so I knew I had to try it. Even though I felt like a human-size Ferrero Rocher® in my wrap covered in chocolate from head-to-toe, I was thrilled walking out of the treatment with softer and more hydrated skin. Cacao is great for skin elasticity and it can even help eliminate cellulite! That was news to me. Next,

was the sound healing bath. If you have never tried a sound bath before, Punta Cana is not a bad place to start. It was one of the best I had experienced. As the Tibetan bowls sang, the frequencies danced within us. Sound healing is one of the many activities available to guests staying at the resort. Other examples include various forms and styles of yoga classes, including pool yoga that takes place on a surf board! There’s an entire collection of activities and rituals designed to connect guests in five wellness spaces: Social, Silent, Sensory, Culinary and Personal. My favorite feature? The beautiful spa, hands down! And because I loved it so much, I had to come back for a special Larimar Hot Stone Body Massage. Larimar, a volcanic stone, is unique to the Dominican Republic as it is found there. It is a rare blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite. Larimar is known to have many healing properties. On a spiritual level it is known to facilitate inner wisdom and outer manifestation, targeting the third eye and crown chakras. On a physical level, it is known to help heal inflammation and even bring down fevers. As someone who gets very fascinated by these things, I couldn’t wait to

get started on my massage. The massage was accompanied by some of the best smelling essential moringa oils I had ever inhaled. After each part of the body was treated with a firm touch and graced with aromatic calmness, larimar hot stones were caressed against the skin for an optimal effect. I have to say, I definitely felt a sense of calmness and walked away as a firmer believer in the many benefits of larimar. In a Nutshell

My stay at the Meliá Punta Cana Resorts was a delightfully unforgettable experience. What I love is that there is something for everyone and for every occasion. Whether you are celebrating a special milestone, taking a vacation, or wanting to escape to a wellness retreat, you will find yourself immersed in the many luxuries and amenities each resort has to offer. If you are ready to be spoiled with top notch service, beautiful views and unforgettable memories, visit: melia.com/en/hotels/Dominican-republic.

ASTON MARTIN’S THUNDEROUS LEAP INTO THE FUTURE OF SUPERCARS

Marco Mattiacci, the Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, envisions Valhalla as a game-changer, a fusion of road car genius with the highoctane engineering expertise of Formula 1®. Get ready for a ride that’s set to redefine what’s possible in ultra-luxury performance.

Now, let’s talk aerodynamics. Valhalla doesn’t just cut through air; it slices it like a precision instrument. With over 600kg of downforce at 240km/h, it’s like being strapped to a rocket. Elements borrowed from F1® technology ensure that every inch of this marvel is designed for speed, grip, and exhilaration.

Valhalla is not just a car; it’s a symphony of engineering brilliance, meticulously fine-tuned by the experts at Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) and the AMF1 team. These wizards are pushing boundaries, using simulations to perfect 90% of the dynamic wizardry, before taking to the actual roads and tracks for that final, heartpounding touch.

The heart of Valhalla beats with a bespoke twin-turbo V8 engine, combined with not one, not two, but three e-motors, giving you a jaw-dropping 1,012 PS of raw power. Thanks to twin electric motors, Valhalla not only boasts four-wheel drive, but engineers have also fine-tuned torque control for each front wheel. It’s like having an orchestra of power at your fingertips.

And if that’s not enough, imagine the thrill of having F1® legends like Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso fine-tuning Valhalla’s performance, ensuring that every curve, every acceleration is a pulse-pounding experience.

But that’s not all. The Valhalla experience is crafted with such precision that even the crash testing process is a work of art. The carbon structure is a testament to Aston Martin’s commitment to strength, without compromising on driver comfort.

Step inside, and you’ll feel like a Formula 1® pro. The driving position is optimized for maximum control, with heels elevated, thanks to a genius false floor housing futuristic electronic modules. The carbon fiber bucket seat? It’s a work of art, adjustable to mimic the posture of the legendary AMR23 race car, while still keeping you in the lap of road-going luxury.

Get ready to be swept off your feet, as Valhalla catapults Aston Martin into a new era of electrifying performance. The first prototype will hit the road soon, with production roaring to life in 2024. Brace yourselves, because Valhalla is about to redefine what it means to drive a supercar. This is not just a car; it’s a symphony of speed, a masterpiece of engineering, and an experience that will leave you breathless.

CELEBRITY BABY NAME REGRETS

By Riesa Pascal According to a survey by BabyCenter, 11% of new parents experience baby name regret. More than a third of those doubting their choice admit they would have a do-over if they could and it’s no different for celebrities, yet their decision comes with the added stress of public scrutiny. This is especially true if they opt for a more unusual name and let’s face it… celebrities love anything that’s unusual. Here’s a look at some mega stars who decided the name they chose didn’t match their child, but fortunately weren’t too proud to admit it. 58 | STYLETOME.COM

CELEBRITY SOUP

THESE STARS EXPERIENCED A VERY SHORT-LIVED LOVE STORY WITH THEIR BABY’S NAME! AARON PAUL & LAUREN PARSEKIAN

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul became a first-time father in April 2022 to a son that he and his wife named him “Casper Emerson Paul.” However, it didn’t take long for the couple to experience baby name remorse and they quickly decided that “Ryden Caspian Paul” was a better fit for their precious baby boy. Although the informal name change occurred shortly after birth, it wasn’t until November 2022 that Paul and his wife finally petitioned to legally have their son’s name changed. DOUG HEHNER & JAMIE OTIS

Getting hitched at first sight worked out well for these Married at First Sight alums so it would only make sense that naming their child at first sight was also the way to go! Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis had initially named their unborn son Douglas Hayes, but Otis shared how the name instantly changed at first sight in a YouTube video saying, “The minute we had our son, the minute he came out, I looked at him [and] I almost called him Hendrix. That was, like, a top name for him, [but] we named him Hayes before we met him. It’s [now] officially Hendrix. We did the birth certificate, so it’s official.” KYLIE JENNER & TRAVIS SCOTT

Perhaps the most famous (and certainly the most recent) case of baby name

remorse goes to Kylie Jenner. The cosmetics mogul and her boyfriend, Travis Scott, welcomed a son on February 2, 2022, and revealed a few days later that his name was “Wolf Webster.” About 6 weeks afterwards, Kylie teased a name change coming by writing on Instagram, “FYI our son’s name isn’t Wolf anymore. We just really didn’t feel like it was him.” Still it wasn’t until their son was 16 months old that his name was finally legally changed to Aire. Jenner went on to blame postpartum hormones and feeling “rushed” for her lapse in baby naming judgment. AMY SCHUMER & CHRIS FISCHER

If you’re ready for a more humorous story of baby name regret, look no further than comedian Amy Schumer and her chef husband Chris Fischer. Upon their newborn son Gene’s birth in May 2019, the happy parents lovingly gave the child the middle name “Attell” in honor of comedian Dave Attell. It wasn’t until nearly a year later, that Schumer suddenly realized that “Gene Attell” sounded too much like the word “genital” which would set their son up for a lifetime of bullying. Needless to say, a swift legal change occurred and her son’s middle name is now David— phew!

didn’t get their baby’s name right on the first try! The actress and her husband gave birth to a daughter that they named “Arwen” until four months later when the couple experienced a change of heart, aka baby name remorse. In an April 2020 post, Scorsone revealed that they chose to go with what was originally her middle name: Lucinda or ‘Lucky’ for short. ELON MUSK & GRIMES

When Elon Musk and his Canadian singer girlfriend welcomed a baby boy in May 2020, the collective confusion at their choice of name sparked a collective “huh?” and momentarily helped the world forget all about our pandemic woes. The Tesla billionaire and owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, named their baby “X Æ A-12” which is pronounced “X Ash A-Twelve.” Unfortunately for Musk and Grimes, their confusing moniker was in violation of a California law banning numbers and special signs for baby names. The couple opted to rename their son “X” with the middle name, “A AE-XII.” Not much better, but at least the judge tried to help the little guy out!

The Clutch Bag Resurfaces as the Must-Have Accessory for This Season In the ever-evolving world of fashion, the only constant is change. Like a pendulum swinging from one style extreme to the next, designers continuously strive to deliver fresh, captivating trends. As we step into the autumn/winter season, the focus has shifted dramatically from the ubiquitous totes that graced our arms during spring and summer. Instead, it’s time to welcome the return of the iconic clutch bag. Handbag trends may ebb and flow, but one thing remains steadfast - the timeless allure of an elegant clutch. Whether you’re heading out for a day of errands or a glamorous night on the town, this accessory has adorned the arms of fashion-forward individuals for over a century. And for A/W 23, it’s not about intricate patterns or over-the-top embellishments; simplicity is the name of the game. In a season where scale, form, and texture are often exaggerated in clothing choices, the clutch stands as a paragon of understated sophistication. Its clean lines and unadorned design allow it to effortlessly complement the boldest of outfits without stealing the spotlight. Whether you opt for a classic black leather clutch or choose a more daring hue to add a pop of color to your ensemble, the effect is equally striking.

Ossa’s phone case is a blend of fashion and functionality. Crafted with genuine freshwater pearls on a braided cord, it can be worn either as a short necklace or stylishly slung over the shoulder. Unique to Ossa’s design, the ball chain connection is exclusively tailored for use with the brand’s phone cases, making it a signature accessory that seamlessly combines elegance with practicality. What sets the clutch apart this season is its ability to elevate the most refined and tailored looks. As the fashion landscape for autumn/winter 2023 embraces smart and impeccably tailored ensembles, a well-chosen clutch bag becomes the finishing touch that exudes refinement and polish. So, as the days grow shorter and temperatures drop, remember that while fashion may sway like a pendulum, the clutch bag remains an unwavering symbol of timeless style. Embrace this enduring trend and let it infuse your autumn/winter wardrobe with an extra dose of elegance.

REAL ESTATE

The luxury real estate market in Florida is one of the most vibrant and continuously expanding markets in the United States. The region consistently attracts more ultra-wealthy people than any other state. _ AP.

is Florida a Hot Spot For real estate in 2024? Florida’s strong population growth, diverse job market, tourist attractions, affordable property prices, tax benefits, and diversified economy all contribute to making it a hot spot for real estate investment. Strong population growth and job market: Florida has strong population growth, particularly in cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. This leads to an increased demand for housing, making it a prime location for real estate investment. Additionally, Florida’s job market is diverse and growing, which attracts new residents and supports the demand for housing. Tourist Attraction: Florida is a booming real estate market due to tourism. Florida attracts millions of tourists annually. In tourist-heavy areas like Miami, Orlando, and others, vacation rental properties are in high demand. Vacation rentals offer greater space, privacy, and facilities than hotels for Florida tourists. Investors can earn rental income and gain property value via vacation rentals. >

62 | STYLETOME.COM

REAL ESTATE

Vacation rental properties are more reliable and profitable than typical rental properties due to high demand. Tourists pay extra for comfortable vacation rentals. Tourist demand can remain consistent throughout economic downturns, making vacation rental properties more market-resilient. Florida’s great tourist draw can offer real estate investors looking for vacation rental properties a reliable and successful revenue stream and property value appreciation. Affordable property prices: Compared to other states like California, property prices in Florida are relatively affordable, which can make it an attractive option for real estate investors. This can lead to strong returns on investment and can make it easier for investors to purchase multiple properties. It’s important to note that property prices can vary widely depending on location and property type. While some areas of Florida may have lower property prices, other areas, such as beachfront or tourist-friendly areas, may have higher property prices.

64 | STYLETOME.COM

Tax Benefits: Florida has no state income tax, which can be a significant advantage for real estate investors. This can lead to higher net returns on investment and can make it a more attractive option for real estate investors. Diversified economy: Florida’s economy is diverse, with a mix of industries such as agriculture, tourism, aerospace, and technology. This diversified economy can help insulate the state from economic downturns, which can be beneficial for real estate investors. However, it’s always important to do proper research, understand the market and the property before investing, and have a solid plan in place for managing risks. Always trust a Professional Realtor® with your real estate investments. If 2024 is your year for buying a home, consider meeting with Realtor®. There are countless benefits to working with an agent, including the opportunity to discuss your ultimate real estate goals and work backward to ensure success. Your agent can walk you through the projected market shifts and the interest rate increase and advise you on how that may affect your mortgage rates and financing. <

KARI FLECK The Real Estate Collection

Kari Fleck has spent the past 16 years building Central Florida's most respected and recognized full-service real estate brokerage. Originally a native of South Miami Beach, she started her career in 1987, as a real estate investor of residential and commercial properties. Using creative methods, she and her husband, Peter, built and managed a robust and diverse portfolio. She later brought her knowledge and expertise to Windermere in 1993 before starting her own brokerage “The Real Estate Collection”, in 2007 right before the financial crisis. Having to pivot quickly to survive the crash, Kari’s focus became managing investment properties. She relocated her offices to Historic Downtown Winter Garden in 2009 and is now recognized as "Female Broker of the Year" and the owner of the "Boutique Brokerage of the Year" by Orlando Real Producers of the Year. You can find The Real Estate Collection and Kari at the historic and quaint office building in downtown Winter Garden, FL, was previously a local bank built in the early 1900’s. You feel like you're in an old western film when you fiddle with the 1,000-pound steel bank vault still intact.

“Our values have allowed us to grow and adapt to challenging real estate environments and even flourish during market downturns.” -Kari Whether they are buying, selling, investing, or renting, TREC offers a wide range of services, including: • Residential and commercial real estate sales • Property management • Land, industrial, and business sales • Buyer and renter representation • Seller and investor representation Why Choose The Real Estate Collection?

• Experience: With 43 agents plus staff, in one year to date, TREC has closed over 250 real estate deals, making a total volume of $122,000,000 in transactions. • Expertise: Agents are experts in all aspects of real estate, from buying and selling to investing and renting, in both residential and commercial.

• Commitment to service: The Real Estate Collection knows buying or selling your property could be one of the most important investments of your life. That is why they are interested in long term relationships, and not a quick sale. • Local knowledge: With their large team of agents, they are experts in all local areas of Central Florida. They know the best neighborhoods, the best schools, and the best amenities. • Community involvement: The Real Estate Collection honors and supports the investment of time and sacrifice of men and women who have served. That is why TREC gives back through their Yellow Ribbon Service Program, which provides discounts to our military, medical, and public safety personnel and professionals. If you're interested in buying or selling residential or commercial property, reach out to The Real Estate Collection and get your property listed or acquired with the best in Central Florida.

ELIZABETH PETTERS REALTOR, Coldwell Banker Realty Elizabeth is celebrating 20 years of being a Realtor. She started her career in Chicago, Illinois with a small boutique real estate company in the North Shore. Her family relocated to Orlando and Elizabeth has been with Coldwell Banker Realty since 2007. Elizabeth has been passionate about her clients, their families and their life goals. Elizabeth has worked with first time buyers and the excitement of home ownership is very rewarding. She has helped sellers downsize from their family home and the adventure of a new chapter can be emotional. Elizabeth has also established a clientele of investors who own a diverse portfolio of properties, from condos to townhomes to single family homes. Orlando has become a mecca for buyers and investors due to the influx of growth from businesses to new companies to the expansion of employment opportunities in high tech, healthcare, engineering, entertainment, sports, fine arts and education. Orlando

offers the Florida lifestyle with sunshine, palm trees and beaches that are an hour away. Every year the market changes, there are challenges with inventory, mortgage rates, inflation, the global economy, however, everyone has different real estate needs and Elizabeth uses her knowledge, expertise and compassion to navigate her clients through the sales process. Elizabeth and her husband, Dave, celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. Dave works for Advent Health and they have 3 grown children. 2 have graduated from Florida State University and their youngest is at the University of Florida. They are indeed a house divided but enjoy watching both the Noles and the Gators. Elizabeth volunteers at the Orlando Museum of Art and is on the Community Council for the Junior League of Greater Orlando. Elizabeth is grateful to live in Central Florida and is honored to be voted as “Orlando’s Realtor of the Year 2023!”
