PUBLISHER’S NOTE

Welcome to the Body & Soul April issue of Orlando Style featuring London House, the amazing Women in Power as well as Orlando’s Chiropractors of the Year. We are excited to get fully involved with event season again! View parts of the fantastic fashion show spread right here in Downtown Orlando last month. Now that we’re making our way into April, I’m reminded of an old saying. As its been said many times before, there are some things you just can’t avoid: taxes and getting older. Well, hopefully our taxes will be taken care of by the 15th of the month, but getting older is another story. As much as we wish that aging were escapable, we just can’t seem to avoid it no matter how much we try. We may not be exactly certain of all of the mysteries in life, however, as long as we live here on earth, we can continue to develop better and better ways to keep our human race youthful, energetic, and healthy. When we take care of ourselves, from the health of our bodies “Body & Soul” to our happy mindset, we’ll not only find ourselves enjoying life more, but we’ll also increase the number of days we have to share with those we love. This month, remember to take the opportunity to see your doctor, hit the gym, visit a spa, splurge on an afternoon at the salon or socialize with friends and family at your favorite restaurant and really, really enjoy and “taste” life. Here is a fitting quote for the first day of April: You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time. - Abraham Lincoln Make the best of this and send us your feedback : info@styletome.com. Until next month, have some springtime fun in the sun! We send our prayers out to the Ukrainian people and wish that the brutal invasion will stop and Peace will conquer.

Yours Truly,

Sven J. Bode

Savor the Season, Embrace the Change In Florida we tend to experience the seasons through food, and as Spring is possibly the season of greatest change, let’s celebrate and enjoy the bounty it brings us. Fortunately, some of the most exquisite and incredibly creative dishes any ‘foodie’ could ever wish to partake in are now available right here in Orlando. Spring brings change, and for London House, this means entire new menus across the board. New A La Carte dining, brunch, afternoon tea, Kids Club and Chefs Selection daytime ‘tasting menu’ are all now available. But the most elaborate, innovative, and exciting of all is the launch of the all new ‘IMMERSION’ tasting experience at London House, by ‘The Viking Chef’ Rikku. A balance of science, ecology, social conscience, illusion and artistic culinary execution, the ‘Immersion’ tasting menu at London House will challenge your perception of ‘reality’ and confuse your senses during this incredible journey of discovery. Only 24 places are available every Tuesday Saturday evening, exclusively served in the ‘Tasting Rooms’ and ‘Chefs Table.’ This dining experience is unlike anything Orlando has ever seen before. Available for London House members to book any day in advance, this immersive 15+ course menu will also be open to non-members wishing to explore what makes London House so special, on a first come, first served basis, 48 hours in advance (space permitting). During the day London House also now offers a 5 course A La Carte ‘Chef’s Menu,’ which features several of the dishes from the ‘Immersion’ tasting menu. Expect a whimsical, storydriven dining experience created using only the freshest local ingredients, combined in a unique way and exclusively for members. Environmental tales, personalized stories, smoke and mirrors and a little bit of magic. This A La Carte option is available without prior notice and is the perfect choice for a business luncheon, romantic engagement, or group of friends. No time wasted or conversation interrupted making menu selections, the Chefs selection is the ultimate in convenience and lunchtime indulgence. In addition to the food offerings being redeveloped at London House, Little House is also benefitting from elevated new dishes. Healthy, nutritional, and kid friendly super foods will be an addition to the current classics. By introducing these offerings to our junior members, we are creating more excitement and engagement for the kids, whilst reassuringly providing parents with nutritionally considerate options for their children. As parents ourselves we understand the challenges of balancing your child’s nutritional needs and palette at the same time!

Alice in

Wonderland, or ‘High Tea’ at London House?

Have you ever heard of fine dining with ‘canned tuna,’ caviar macaroons or custard tarts? You read that correctly, we said custard tarts! Yes, indeed, all of that is correct. Did we also mention the beet cured salmon and homemade whipped ricotta sandwiches, smoked strawberry and jalapeño jelly, and tea-soaked fruit scones? You may think your dining with the Mad Hatter, but this is simply high tea done better - it’s London House High Tea. Executive Head Chef Rikku and Executive Pastry Chef Francois have collaborated to create a mystical fare of redefined, modern, savory and confectionery tower of delights that transform Buckingham palace, ‘through the looking glass’. Be ready for the revolution - it’s not just afternoon tea, it’s London House High Tea.

FEATURED COCKTAIL:

Monkey’s Uncle Created by LH Mixologist, Aleena Finley

INGERDIENTS

METHOD

DEMERARA RECIPE

2 dashes- Angostura Bitters

Begin with a mixing glass and a bar spoon. Note: You’ll want to add your ingredients before adding your ice.

For those who would like to make demerara simple syrup, it is by far one of the easiest cordials to add to your home bar and takes less than five minutes!

2 dashes- Black Walnut Bitters .25 oz.- Orgeat .25 oz.- Demerara Simple .75 oz.- Giffard Banana Liqueur 1.25 oz.- Appleton Rum Orange slice for garnish

Start with two dashes of angostura bitters and two dashes of black walnut bitters. Next, add the syrup and cordial: measuring with a jigger, add .25 ounces of Orgeat, a delicious syrup made from almonds, sugar, rose water and orange flower water. Then add .25 ounces of a Demerara simple; a darker and more richly flavored cousin of simple syrup. Finish building your cocktail with your spirits: add .75 ounces of Giffard Banana Liqueur and 1.25 ounces of Appleton Rum.

Add 1 ¼ cups water and 1 cup of demerara sugar to a medium sized pot or saucepan over medium heat. Continuously stir your ingredients until the sugar has completely dissolved, approximately 3 minutes. Let the simple syrup cool before use.

After combining your liquid treat, add ice to your mixing glasses, grab your bar spoon and stir for 30 seconds. In a double rocks glass, strain over one large ice cube. To finish, garnish with an orange slice then sit back, relax and enjoy.

What is a

“Withdrawing

Room?”

You’ve heard it in books, movies and likely in conversation of this mysterious room that the British culture has made sure to have one of in their homes. A ‘Withdrawing Room,’ or as some would also say, the ‘Drawing Room.’ So, what is it exactly and why do our British friends love them so much? Believe it or not, the withdrawing room doesn’t really have anything to do with drawing. Wikipedia describes the ‘drawing room’ as “a room in a house where visitors may be entertained,” and apparently the name is derivative from the sixteenth-century terms withdrawing room and withdrawing chamber. In a large sixteenth- to early eighteenth-century English home, a withdrawing room was a room to which the owner of the house, his wife, or a notable guest who was occupying one of the main rooms in the house could “withdraw” for more privacy. Makes sense! Until the mid-twentieth century, after a dinner the ladies of a dinner party withdrew to the drawing room, leaving the men at table (perhaps to smoke cigars). After some time, the men rejoined the ladies in the withdrawing room. So, the question now is, are withdrawing rooms still a thing in more recent times? The term ‘drawing room’ is not used as widely as it once was, and tends to be used in Britain only by those who also have other reception rooms, such as a morning room – a nineteenth-century designation for a sittingroom, often with east-facing exposure, suited for daytime calls – or the ‘lounge’, a late nineteenth-century designation for a room in which to relax; hence the drawing room is the smartest room in the house, usually used by the adults of the family when entertaining. Some may now have a more modern withdrawing room which could also be known as the ‘family room’ which may include a television/sitting room, computer area and breakfast table. You may also be wondering, “is a withdrawing room just a living room?” Technically no. The main difference between living room and drawing room is that the living room is a room for general everyday use, including relaxing and gathering with family and friends, while the drawing room is a room to receive and entertain guests. Most houses have a living room, but not all houses have drawing rooms.

THE HISTORY OF

Easter, as we all know it, is all about painting Easter eggs, bunnies, chocolates, and everything else that says Springtime is here. However, there has to be a good story behind how this holiday went from a holiday celebrated by Christians what we celebrate it mostly as today. While Easter has largely become a mainstream holiday, its roots are in Christianity alone. With the commercialization of Easter - including candy sales, egg hunts, and appearances from the Easter bunny, it’s easy to overlook the true meaning of the holiday. Let’s explore the origins of Easter and the real meaning behind it. Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the New Testament of the Bible, the event is said to have occurred three days after Jesus was crucified by the Romans and died in roughly 30 A.D. Although a holiday of high religious significance in the Christian faith, many traditions associated with Easter date back to pre-Christian, pagan times. Regardless of denomination, there are many Easter-time traditions with roots that can be traced to non-Christian and even pagan or non-religious celebrations. Many nonChristians choose to observe these traditions without the religious aspects of the celebration. Some examples of non-

religious Easter traditions include Easter eggs, and related games such as egg rolling and egg decorating. The bigger question here is – why eggs and where did they come from? It’s believed that eggs represented fertility and birth in certain pagan traditions that pre-date Christianity. Egg decorating may have become part of the Easter celebration in a nod to the religious significance of Easter, i.e., Jesus’ resurrection or re-birth. Another tradition associated with Easter in more modern times is the Easter Bunny. The exact origins of the Easter Bunny tradition are unknown, although some historians believe it arrived in America with German immigrants in the 1700s. Rabbits are, in many cultures, known as enthusiastic procreators, so the arrival of baby bunnies in springtime meadows became associated with birth and renewal. Today, Easter is a commercial holiday as well as a religious holiday, marked by high sales for greeting cards, candies (such as Peeps, chocolate eggs and chocolate Easter bunnies) and other gifts. However you choose to celebrate Easter, we can’t deny that the holiday brings a wonderful sense of Springtime and all of the positive things that come along with the season!

THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL IS

PRIVATE

By Shane Mahoney, CEO of Lugos Travel

The past two years have thrown a lifetime’s worth of change at us. From how we work, to how we learn, much of what we took for granted has been reevaluated or completely turned upside down. And not many aspects of life were as deeply affected as to how we travel. If you were someone who loved to travel, the pandemic probably made you realize just how much you love it, and how devastating for the industry, for the travelers, and for basic human connection - losing it could be. Maybe you spent months at home, dreaming of wandering the streets of Paris, or lounging on the beach in the Maldives, wondering if you’d ever get to take that dream destination trip. Or whether you’d even be able to see a favorite city again. But now that travel is in the middle of a cautious return, with reopened borders, increased flight options, and new rules of the road, the question we’re asking ourselves isn’t so much where we want to

12

go, but how we want the experience to look and feel. Travelers have added new must-haves to their travel planning. Luxury travelers especially are taking into consideration trip features that might not have come to mind in the past, including ways to stay healthy (and COVID-free), how to avoid crowds, and how to make getting to and from your destination stress-free and efficient. In other words, they want to know: “How can I take that dream trip, while still keeping myself and my loved ones as safe and as healthy as possible?” Shane Mahoney, founder and CEO of the custom travel concierge service Lugos Travel, believes he has the answer. He’s spent 10 years in the travel industry and shepherded thousands of luxury travel clients through the ebbs and flows of a pandemic that has upended old expectations and assumptions.

So, what comes next? “The future of travel is private,” Shane tells us. “Private travel is about getting away from the crowds and putting the focus on you and your travel companions,” he explains. “It’s also the safest, healthiest, and more luxurious way to travel - and it’s what my savviest clients are seeking in their postpandemic itineraries.” Lugos Travel started building customized travel experiences for high-end travelers in 2011. These aren’t your parents’ travel agents - Shane’s team specializes in bespoke excursions, one-of-a-kind experiences, and impeccable, 24-hour service. “We build personalized itineraries for clients, so they can focus on enjoying their vacation,” explains Shane. “The experience is seamless.” Lugos Travel also partners with London House, adding one-of-a-kind travel perks to members’ itineraries. When the pandemic shook the travel industry to its core, Shane hunkered down with the rest of us, but he remained confident that travel, while changing, wasn’t gone forever. “Everything has a cycle, and nothing is permanent,” he said. “I knew travel would come back, and that it would look significantly different than how we remembered it.” He was right. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, U.S. travel and tourism should reach pre-pandemic levels in 2022, citing consumer confidence and pent-up demand as some of the factors leading to the increase. International travel by Americans is also set to increase, according to the Council. It’s a far cry from the post-mortems many travel observers were penning about the industry throughout 2020 and 2021. And that rebounding travel does, indeed, look different than it did before COVID. Health restrictions, new ways of interacting with guests, adjusted attitudes about mass tourism - so much has changed. But the desire and ability to get away from one’s daily routine to explore the world remains. “Travelers are eager to get out again, they’re just focusing on a new set of wants and needs when they put together an itinerary,” Shane told us. “Most end up going the private travel route because it ups the luxury quotient while addressing health concerns.” According to Shane, client requests for private travel additions to itineraries have increased 45% since 2019.

suggests starting with the following foundational steps. “Once you get the basics of private travel down, you can start getting creative with your itineraries,” he said, adding, “it’s an incredible way to travel.” 4 Private Travel Must-Haves: 1. Line-skipping. Whether at the airport or the theme park, line-jumping will save you time and minimize your time in a crowd. Services like concierge airport pick-ups, CLEAR security check-in, reserved ride times, and advance passes for museums get you VIP treatment around the globe. 2. Hiring private tour guides. Hire your own tour guide and avoid the inconveniences of group tours. Not only is your tour crowd-free, but it’s also personalized to meet your unique needs and interests. Expert tour guides will also be able to introduce you to local off-thebeaten-path gems. 3. Perfect timing. Don’t hit the most popular destinations at the most popular times. With a little research and schedule flexibility, you can figure out how to access sites and locations at times when you feel like you have the place to yourself. 4. High-end transport. Believe it or not, some forms of transportation that were once only the purview of the jet-set crowd are now more attainable than ever. Travel companies are making private or semi-private air travel and allinclusive yacht experiences accessible to a larger set of travelers. Ready to go private? “The first step is understanding that this kind of experience is attainable,” advises Shane. “Too many people assume it’s only for the top 1%, and don’t know how to make it happen for themselves,” he adds. This is where Lugos Travel comes in. Booking private travel is an art, but Shane’s team makes it look easy. “We’re also starting to build out custom experiences that will only be available to London House members,” announces Shane. Those exclusive travel collaborations will be available starting later this year. In the meantime, get your private travel planning underway by contacting vacations@lugostravel. com - their expert team will take care of the rest.

Take the best that exists and make it better, when it does not exist, design it…. The famous quote from Sir Henry Royce, the co-founder of Rolls-Royce, is raised high upon the walls of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Orlando and serves as a reminder of the pinnacle positioning of the brand. Joe Wierda, General Manager of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini Orlando takes this quote as inspiration for curating some of the finest exotic cars in the world that end up calling central Florida home. Having spent a large part of his automotive career as an engineer and working on the corporate side as the Regional Vice President for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, he is well-versed to tackle the creative and technical side of designing the perfect motor car for his clients. “Hands down the best part of my role is presenting a client with the perfectly designed car that we helped them dream up.” Joe sits down personally with many of his clients looking over samples and images to match the theme of the car with the individual tastes of the client. “Clients love to incorporate the beautiful color accents from fashion and jewelry, such as the mandarin orange from Hermes or Tiffany blue, adding some personality outside of what you would normally see in a car”.

Joe Wierda, General Manager

Joe’s experience working on the inside of Rolls-Royce provides a much deeper understanding of the possibilities available for designing that perfect car, and he takes full advantage of his network and connections at each of the Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini factories. Many clients take advantage of the private access they have to visit these European factories to view the unlimited bespoke opportunities each of the brands offer. On the day that perfect motor car is delivered, the team at Fields Motorcars Orlando has the delivery process down to a science, but it is not one size fits all either. “We take a bespoke approach not only when designing cars, but also when celebrating their arrival.” From large parties in the showroom to small gatherings in the clients’ homes, the handover of these cars should be a special moment in our clients’ lives, one that they cherish forever.

ANDY MILLS-BROWN MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Tell us about yourself, where you are from and what kind of work you do: I am originally from Lancashire in the UK, but more recently from the North London borders. I am the founder and CEO of a Global Entertainment & Events company serving the Leisure & Tourism Industry. We have offices in London, Orlando, Lisbon and Hong Kong. After sampling US life in Miami from 2015-2017, I moved permanently to Orlando in January 2021 in the middle of a pandemic! Most people thought I was crazy, but it was actually the best time. What is it that you love so much about America? I love the bright Florida sunshine! From a mental health perspective predominantly. It’s really great not to be in that eternal grey, sideways rain of the UK! So, the weather is a big factor to be honest. However, we have a lot of corporate clients in America, so I came over here to support them and lead their business requirements. Our office in Orlando is right next door to London House. So what kind of work is your business? We deliver live entertainment to Cruise Lines, Resorts, Hotels, Theme Parks, Attractions and Theaters - anywhere where you see live entertainment. On the production side of the business, we deliver small scale pop-up’s right up to huge Broadway style productions. On the agency side of the business, we deliver over 7,000 act bookings annually to venues across the globe. As part of the group of companies we also own a graphic design and live events business as well as a state-of-the-art rehearsal campus for live production, TV & film. What made you start this type of business? Years ago, I was an emcee. I worked on holiday resorts in the UK, I was a Cruise Director at sea for several years and then I worked for over 10 years in corporate as a VP of entertainment. I started my company 8 years ago after realizing there was a gap in the market. We have enjoyed exponential growth, and now here we are, 4 offices later, post pandemic - looking to the future. Aside from having several corporate clients here – why Orlando? Florida is the home of the cruise and attractions industry! We are well placed to be here. I also love Orlando because of its geography. You can easily get to Miami and the Carolinas. It is centrally based, and it has a tremendous amount of talent. More so than anywhere else in Florida, because of the theme parks and London House is here of course!

Are you involved in the community? If so, what kind of involvement? I am, and it is something I’m very passionate about. It’s a nonprofit called Dreamflight. Every year we bring 192 sick children from the UK to Orlando for a 10-day holiday. We reserve several floors at the Rosen Hotel, and we take the kids to all the theme parks. We have so many volunteer doctors, nurses and helpers that come to support it’s wonderful. I’ve been working with them for the past 12 years. The kids are fantastic; some have never been on a plane before, and we take them without their parents! So, it’s a really big adventure for them. It is an opportunity for them to feel like they are not the odd one out. This is the 35th year of coming to Orlando. So, I’m sure being in Orlando now is very helpful to your involvement! It definitely is. It is Orlando that gives these kids their special memory. So now I’m over here welcoming them and showing off what Orlando has to offer, I can’t explain or describe what it does for them. We don’t have anything like it in the UK, Orlando has magic all around, not from just the theme parks but the Americans who are so hospitable. My company sponsors the entertainment in the UK and here in America I am working on creating more awareness and corporate sponsorships. If anyone is interested in supporting they can get in touch with me, I’d be delighted to talk it through. So, being from the UK – what do you love about the London House? I joined because it’s great to network and it does remind me of home! It’s excellent 5-star London service, all that you would expect in a high-end London member’s club. Which is quite different from a standard club. It’s great to socialize in an environment with like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs, etc. It’s very private but very social at the same time. So I have to ask, what are some of the biggest misconceptions on how Americans view the British? It’s actually quite funny, I notice a few! There is this stereotypical view of what British people are like. One of the big ones seems to be that we all have crooked or rotten teeth! I have some Americans baffled that I have such straight white teeth. Also, there are a lot of misconceptions about the British being obsessed with the Queen and the Royal Family. Sometimes, I think Americans care more than the British do!

‘IMMERSION’ at London House by Chef Rikku

To be truly ‘Immersed’ is to dive unreservedly deep into, and actually become part of the experience. That is what ‘Immersion’ is at London House. This flavor-forward and sensory driven experience led by our multi award-winning, ‘Global Best Chef 2019’ and MasterChef TV Star, Rikku O’Donnchu, ‘The Viking Chef,’ who is no stranger to the Michelin kitchens of the world, promises to bring that rare and coveted standard here to London House in Orlando. What is the ‘Immersion’ experience? “This is a concept I developed to ignite the senses, to play with smells and textures, to taste the ingredients, connect with the atmosphere and evoke emotions, becoming truly immersed in the flavors and experience. Guests will leave with a sensation of overwhelming connection to the food and the immersive journey they were just a part of,” says Chef Rikku. “The food itself sends a message. Sometimes uncomfortable though it may be, and translates to the importance of environmentally friendly processes, and environmentally friendly products. This is to keep our menus sustainable, considerate of the environment, but to also tell a story about some of the traumatic conditions that are a result of our overconsumption, overproduction and wastage of the products we consume every day…” “…There is a reveal, a prestige, an unraveling at every corner. There is excitement, enchantment, and a lust for the unknown. Some of the dishes touch on invasive species, some emanate from locally sourced and indigenous ingredients, whilst others bend reality into concept and imagination.” We asked Chef Rikku - why did you create ‘Immersion’? “Because I believe food shouldn’t just be about eating. We are what we eat. We have a responsibility to our bodies, to our environment and to our minds. Everything we do has an impact on that. Food should also be exciting. It should be sensual, provocative, and sometimes intrusive. Food isn’t here just to keep us alive, it’s here to provoke thought, to nourish, and for us to indulge our senses in the most complex and emotional way.”

and organic products but adding opulence to the overall experience to maximize the consumer’s journey through the principle of true ‘Immersion.’ Truffles, caviar, and ethical foie gras are some of the products featured on the new multi course, multisensory menu. Ethical foie gras, you say? Yes, we did - and you’re going to have to come eat here to find out just what that means!” Says Rikku. Two dishes in particular represent environmental change and a desire to change things for the better. ‘Levitate,’ Rikku’s signature dish, showcases the importance of low carbon footprint to avoid acid rain from polluting compost, which is effectively absorbed by the very things we consume. The other is ‘Amber,’ an ‘insect preserved in amber.’ This is a yellow transparent bread which encapsulates small dried citrus flavored insects, representing the forest and deforestation in particular, with forest fires and the devastating effect that they have on the environment. ‘Immersion’ also features a water sommelier offering rare, artisanal, boutique water companies. All water is organically sourced from pH filtered and glass kept water, which adds to this unique experience. Our sommelier will walk you through a series of wine producing techniques, famous as well as unfamiliar wines, giving balanced and world class pairings, enhancing the meal to its full potential. There are molecular drinks pairings, including some reimagined ‘new world / old world’ cocktails which will bridge the gap between classic and contemporary dining. There are tea pairings amongst other non-alcoholic drinks pairings that use locally selected blends and intricate flavor compounds for a truly delectable and immersive liquid experience. This accompanies and compliments the food itself. The ingredients, libations, atmosphere, and service all work together to create Rikku’s ‘Immersion’ at London House, delivering a truly world class experience like none other. Immersion will exclusively be served in the ‘Chefs Table,’ and the two redesigned ‘Tasting Rooms’ (formerly known as the private dining rooms) every Tuesday-Saturday evening from 6pm. Priority reservations are available to London House members, but reservations are also available to non-members 48hrs in advance, space permitting.

“Concepts can be built around one ingredient, but we also have luxury items available throughout the menu itself. We use all sustainably farmed

Abbey Schwartz HEAD OF HOUSE Growing up in Long Island, Abbey was in the restaurant business at a very young age. Abbey had the ability to learn many aspects about the business as his father had two Long Island restaurants as well as a restaurant in the British Virgin Islands. It was at this time he grew fond of not only the food and beverage industry, but the hospitality industry as well. Having been in the restaurant business for over twenty-five years, he has been able to bring his career across many different styles of dining, from casual concepts to fine dining. Many large companies as well as smaller family-owned groups. Early in his career, Abbey worked for the nationally recognized chain restaurant, Houston’s. Houston’s is known as an upscale casual dining experience and are very precise in every aspect of their business. It is here where Abbey learned the standards of execution in not just food or service, but the brand itself. After his time with Houston’s, he ventured into New York City to open a fine dining Mexican restaurant, Rosa Mexicano, in the bustling area of Manhattan know as Union Square. Union Square is known for being very active among retail and restaurants. This particular restaurant was over 10,000 square feet and seated 324 guests. Generating $11 million annually in sales, Abbey was able to make this location one of the most highly regarded restaurants in Manhattan. Over the course of the next several years he continued to serve the downstate New York market in landing him at one of the most highly reputable restaurants in Long Island, Teller’s - An American Chophouse. Teller’s was the flagship restaurant for BRG (Bohlson Restaurant Group). At Teller’s, in tandem with the Michelin

Star corporate chef, he was able Create an extraordinary dining experience. The wine cellar alone held approximately 10,000 bottles. Diners were able to enjoy great wine pairings from the novice palate to the most sophisticated palate. After his move to Florida, Abbey has had the privilege of working with the Miami James Beard award winner, Michael Schwartz, as Director of Operations. He also has the opportunity to work with James Beard award winning restauranteur, Stephen Starr, as General Manager. Both South Florida concepts that gained great recognition through the years. Abbey most recently opened, Cipresso Fine Dining Italian Restaurant, at the world-renowned Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Guitar Hotel in October of 2019. At Cipresso, Abbey managed a team of approximately 100 employees and a management team of 8. Undertaking the considerable responsibility of curating Cipresso’s wine room, which now boasts 3,800 bottles of wine, consists of a selection of 250 red labels and 40 white labels with a price range of $40-$4,000. Cipresso was awarded Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2020 & 2021 and OpenTable’s Diners Choice award in 2022. He has now joined The London House with the goal to help the founders, Adrian Everett and Ben Becton, achieve their vision of making The London House far and above the best, most exclusive private membership club in Florida. Abbey, not being in the private membership environment before, took this opportunity to educate himself further in the hospitality industry. After meeting the founders Adrian and Ben. he believes in what they are putting forth. The team in place is at the precipice of doing amazing things.

FINE DINING & ETIQUETTE MANAGER

Katie Katie Zamulinsky has been unintentionally in love with this industry for most of her life. Her passion first emerged out of the imaginary doors of a miniature kitchen play set when she was young. This little kitchen was handed down to her from an older sister who had outgrown the limited ingredient nature of a menu made entirely of plastic. It quickly became one of her greatest sources of joy during her childhood. Katie used her kitchen to "cook" and serve lunch for her mother because she wanted to replicate how her mother’s cooking inspired her and filled her with love.

Needless to say, she was hooked! It was there at that vineyard and winery where that Sommelier mentored Katie and shared in his wealth of knowledge. Katie is forever grateful for the experience that she gained from him. Her creativity and ambition converged at this winery as well. During her time there, she created a simple but impactful marketing strategy for their business. Her goal there was to create a program that would boost sales and awareness in a way that was easy to manage, and the results were thankfully a great success. The business grew well, and she felt a great sense of accomplishment.

Katie’s mother worked from home, and as much work as it takes to support a large family, she still always made time to take a lunch break to enjoy her world-famous polyethylene spaghetti and carefully assembled plastic sandwiches. She thought the emotional connection that she had to the joy that she brought her mother during these moments became the catalyst for her passion for the dining and service industry.

Fast forward to today, Katie has amassed over a decade's worth of experience in the fine dining industry. She is Michelin star trained in all aspects of etiquette and fine dining management and is a certified mixologist and sommelier. All of this experience has developed through a combination of her love of making others happy, her desire to express herself creatively, and her passion for the artistry of good food and wine.

Katie got her first ever job working as a hostess at a highly successful Japanese and Thai restaurant in the Philadelphia area. During her time there, she moved up to every front of house position that she could within that establishment over the course of several years.

Katie is beyond ecstatic to be able to implement her experience and express herself at London House alongside Chef Rikku and the rest of the team. According to Katie, working with Rikku has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Not only is he a true artist and visionary in the kitchen, but he is also an incredible leader. The team at London House is always growing and pursuing their individual dreams with his support. This allows them to take the risks that are required to achieve their goals.

She was perpetually drawn in by a career where she had the outlet for creative expression in an ever-evolving space and began to see her fit in the industry. She was interested in each and every aspect of fine dining and saw every individual part as an opportunity to learn about and to grow from. Eventually, she discovered her love of wines and was fortunate enough to find a job at a luxury vineyard and winery. She benefited from the unique resources they had and learned from their century old craft. Their Head Sommelier noticed her interest – from the growing of their grapes to the production and bottling of wine.

It’s all very contagious, exciting, and is most definitely the very energy that the team loves and thrives off! Katie feels very lucky for the team they have at London House and is immensely grateful. She is looking forward to providing London House guests the highest level of service and sharing in what is going to be a truly unforgettable dining experience for everyone.

Mark Miller & Nicole Joseph EMMY AWARD WINNERS

We have quite a bit to chat about! Let’s start with your background and everything leading up to you and Nicole receiving an Emmy Award. So just going back so you can understand how we got to where we are today, first off, I have lived here in Florida for about 22 years now. I served in the British Army and then as a Firefighter for several years, after that I went more into business related careers; construction and real estate. Once I got into the market here, that is when Nicole and I met back in 2015. She was just starting up her home care business. Now she was born in Trinidad, then lived and grew up in Venezuela. She moved here to the United States when she was 19. She ultimately ended doing what she wanted to do which was a respiratory therapist and she worked in the ER for many years before home health care. So your business now is Amerivita Home Health Care – how did that come to life? Nicole opened Amerivita Home Care in 2011 serving both Medicare and Medicaid patients from Pediatric to Geriatric. In 2015 we admitted our first long term 24/7 medically fragile pediatric patient. Nurses are required to be in the home 24/7 to enable these patients to maintain their lives. We are basically the hospital in the home. We employ over 150 nurses, and we have a very compassionate team of doctors, nurses and office staff. We see in most cases that the

parent’s really need the help the most. How did your business ultimately win you and Nicole an Emmy Award? From our Documentary Film trailer, In Good Hands. We won the Emmy Award from that trailer that was entered. That is a 2min 39sec version of what the documentary is about. It’s a true story following two of our patients lives. Shawn Vela is the producer of this, and we happened to bump into each other at a charity for Nathaniel’s Hope. Shawn was putting stories out for me of different incidences, which eventually led to, ‘In Good Hands’. That trailer is still moving! It is evolving into something larger than we could have ever imagined. So what is next for you and Nicole now after, ‘In Good Hands’? Now we are looking to set up and charitable organization to service and support the parents. We may call that organization, ‘In Good Hands’, however we will see which direction that goes! We would really just like to help and support parents and patients as best as we can. Nicole is really living her dream and she continuously works so hard day in and day out. If it wasn’t for her none of this would have ever come to fruition. She has an extremely big heart. She wants to treat everyone like a VIP. All the credibility really should go to Nicole and how much passion she has for all we are doing and what we will do in the future.

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDERS “To improve is to change, so to be perfect is to have change often” - Sir Winston Churchill

during which we have scoured the country for talent befitting of our private club.

This year has most certainly already been one of positive change and great progress, with new unique and exciting initiatives at London House. Since the turn of the year, we have also introduced several highly experienced and talented new team members, activated new brand partners and discovered fabulous new musical artists to grace us with their talents.

As we move into Spring, we eagerly anticipate the launch of our new, ultraexclusive tasting experience, ‘Immersion @ London House’ by Chef Rikku. Created through his experience at Michelin restaurants around the world, ‘Immersion’ will also be available to non-members in our dedicated ‘tasting rooms’, to showcase why life at LH is so unique. This new concept will enable potential members to experience a ‘taste’ of what we offer and partake in the most decadent and immersive tasting menu in Florida.

In February we welcomed our new Executive Head Chef, Rikku, ‘The Viking Chef’, along with his Chef de Cuisine Alex, Sous Chef Josh, and Katie, our Fine Dining and Etiquette Manager. We also delightedly welcome our new ‘Head of House’, Abbey, joining us from the W Hotel and Hard Rock in Miami. Abbey brings the experience, ethics, standards, and expertise necessary to stand at the helm of London House. This new leadership team, along with several recently appointed Butlers, Concierge and Bar Meisters are the result of a 6-month intense recruitment process,

Ever evolving, ever improving, and perpetually seeking new ways to excite, delight and satisfy our members appetite for social, recreational, and culinary experiences - London House is unrelenting in the pursuit of excellence. We have the honor to be at your service Adrian & Ben Founders

MOST POPULAR

ATHLETES-TURNED-ACTORS THESE JOCKS PROVED THEY HAD WHAT IT TOOK TO MAKE IT TO THE BIG SCREEN!

By Riesa Pascal

| ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

CELEBRITY SOUP

It’s well known that a number of celebrities started off their careers in the sporting world before trying their hand in the entertainment industry. Although not every athlete’s transition was a successful one, there have been quite a few stand out stars who did have the acting chops required to make it to Tinseltown. Let’s take a look at some of these stars who were able to succeed in both athletics and acting.

DWAYNE JOHNSON We might as well start off strong with the most popular celebrity on our list. Unless you were born in the 2000s, you know that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got his acting start in professional wrestling with the WWE. Before he was showing off his athletics feats in the ring, Johnson was actually an accomplished football player which not many people remember. Not only did he win an NCAA championship with the Miami Hurricanes back in 1991, he was also briefly signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. After a few minor television roles, Johnson finally made his big-screen debut with 2001's The Mummy Returns as the Scorpion King and has since become one of the best-known actors in the world. TERRY CREWS He’s starred in many of your favorite comedies and was a beloved member of the popular sitcom Brooklyn NineNine all the way up until the show’s end last year. Of course I’m talking about the one and only Terry Crews. If you’ve ever taken a look at his physique, it should come as no surprise to learn that he got his start on the football field. Crews spent the early 1990s bouncing around the NFL from the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers to the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. Eventually Crews moved to Los Angeles to try and kickstart an acting career. Although he has had some action-heavy roles, much of his career has been spent in comedic roles which he seems to always thrive in thanks to his impeccable comic timing. RONDA ROUSEY How about we show the ladies some love? Although her acting career doesn’t have too many credits yet, Ronda Rousey is definitely looking to follow in the steps of some of her fellow wrestling stars. Not only is Rousey an Olympian and bronze medalist in Judo, she is also a former professional MMA fighter and a popular WWE wrestler. Her incredible athletic ability has allowed her to succeed at whatever sport she puts her mind to and I’m sure her new acting career will be no different. Rousey got her start on the big-screen with 2014's The Expendables 3 and is slowly, but surely adding to her growing resume.

DAVE BAUTISTA Don’t let his lovable character of Drax on Guardian of the Galaxies fool you! Dave Bautista is a hardcore athlete who spent two decades of his career in the wrestling arena. Those 20 years saw Bautista become a household name with the WWE, but those rippling muscles have also helped him to successfully transition into the action flick world. Although his first credited acting role was in a 2006 episode of Smallville, he has since shown up in a number of the biggest action franchises on the planet and it seems pretty apparent that Bautista isn't planning on stopping any time soon. BURT REYNOLDS As a graduate of Florida State University, I may be a little biased adding this one to the list. Okay, okay… maybe I’m a lot baised, but can you blame me? It’s not often one can say they went to the same university as a major Hollywood star! Before Burt Reynolds was carving out a solid acting career for himself, he spent much of his youth playing football with a goal of making it to the big leagues. He attended Florida State University on a football scholarship in hopes of going professional before injuries eventually took out on a different career path. It would seem that life worked out pretty well for him though. He was a leading man on many successful television shows and continues to be remembered today for his numerous action film roles as well as that killer mustache. JOHN CENA We’ve featured quite a few wrestlers on our list today so it’s only fitting that we close out with a wrestler who is for all intents and purposes, the unofficial face of the WWE. Although he played center for his Springfield College football team, everyone on the planet knows John Cena for his lengthy career in wrestling. Cena first debuted his acting chops in 2006’s The Marine and his film credits have been steadily growing since from comedies like Trainwreck to major blockbusters like Fast & Furious 9 and The Suicide Squad. If you needed yet another reason to love the guy, it should be noted that Cena is also a prolific philanthropist and has gifted the most wishes ever given for the Make-AWish Foundation.

DON’T MISS THE BEAT

JUSTIN

BIEBER By Maha Chaudhry

It all started more than a decade ago, when a record executive accidentally found a video of a young boy singing “So Sick” by artist Ne-Yo on YouTube.

In a Live Nation video, it is mentioned that the overnight sensation has performed over 600 concerts, totaling more than 7,500 songs since his debut.

His discovery of the video would change the young boy’s life forever, along with the music industry as a whole. Who is this young boy I speak of? The one and only Justin Bieber.

To think Bieber exposed us to his talent over thirteen years ago is quite wild! And he is about to do it again with the Justice World Tour coming to the Amway Center in Orlando on April 11th.

Upon discovery, Record Executive Scooter Braun talked Bieber’s mother into allowing young Bieber to come to Atlanta where he would be introduced to his mentor, Usher and start recording his demo tapes. By 2009 the “Bieber Fever” had officially begun. Bieber’s first major hit “One Time” not only topped the charts, but was indicative of the rise of fame yet to come. And boy, did it come. Before long, Bieber turned millions into “believers” and he wasn’t about to stop there. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Beiber’s Madison Square Garden show sold out in just 30 seconds. Yup, that’s less than a minute. That’s also less time than you would probably spend parked at a traffic light. In 2010, the rising star became the youngest artist to receive an American Music Award. This would be one of many to come. Since receiving his first AMA, Bieber has had many hits take the Billboard charts such as “Sorry, “Love Yourself,” and Ed Sheeran collaboration “I Don’t Care,” just to name a few. His songs continued to land him awards beyond just the AMA’s. We’re talking the Grammys and all.

Bieber’s new album Justice features recent hits like “Anyone” and “Ghost,” but word has it that you may just hear him play some of his oldies but goldies too. I think we’re okay with that. The nation has watched the artist go from a child with a dream to a tween throb, and now, adult singing sensation and husband to model Hailey Rhode Baldwin Bieber. Though the journey may not have always been easy for the star growing up in the spotlight, he has always made it a point to give back. Some of his philanthropic efforts include supporting charities and foundations such as Save the Children and Pencils of Promise, among others. The Justice tour will also serve meaningful efforts, as a percentage o___f the ticket sales will go towards supporting his initiative “Justice in Action.” Bieber’s mission for the tour is to aid in raising awareness around criminal justice reform, climate action and voter registration. Well done, Bieber! Though the concerts can be notorious for selling out, it might not be too late to catch the Bieber Fever this month.

CASUAL. COOL.

Athleisure wear has officially taken over. No, you don’t have to have a gym membership to rock this look. This “cool” and “casual” street wear has been the latest trend starting this 2020. It could be because we were stuck at home, but besides that, many people have turned to “gym” clothes for their ootds. Even though they are not going to the gym, or doing anything active, for that matter. This look that gives off an “effortless, I don’t care how I look” vibe is what people want nowadays. You’ve seen it everywhere and worn by everyone — including our favorite celebrities. From the streets to the runways, from fitness studios to happy hour and back again. People

are choosing comfort over style, but actually... not really. Brands have designed their athleisure wear to be more trendy and more acceptable for everyday life. From brunch in sweats and a crop top to getting sushi in an oversized t-shirt dress. It doesn’t stop there; people are taking it to the next level, pairing heels with sweatpants to “dress them up” and wear that for a night out. Many years ago, this trend would have never taken off, but people are obsessed. It’s ok, no one will judge you for wearing comfy clothes out. So go grab your favorite pair of sweats and go rock them!

Stacking and layering

We loved this look back in the 90’s, and we love it now. Layering dainty chains around your neck and stacking bracelets are the new way to accessorize your outfit. And there are many companies that have mastered the quality of the metals that they use (usually gold with other materials) so that they don’t tarnish and make your fingers green without breaking the bank. You can finally have all the gold chains you want!

Warm weather is approaching fast and that means summer vacation is right around the corner! Though it’s still only March, it’s never too late to start getting your summer body beach-trip ready. So don’t get left in the dust! Get ready to be kickin’ it with your besties beach side, feelin’ and lookin’ better than ever. But don’t start stressing just yet. We’ve got some great tips for easy, stress-free workouts to get your peach plumper than ever! Don’t have the time to make it to the gym? We’ve got your back. Some of the best workouts for your bum can be done right in the comfort of your own home. And you’ll only need a few things to get started: resistance bands, some dumbells, and some steps! But don’t think you need to run to the store and get everything mentioned right away; you can get your booty poppin’ without any equipment. Or get those creative juices flowing and substitute dumbells for some gallons of water (you’ll need them anyway!), or make some use of those longforgotten books on your bookshelf to substitute for some steps! Resistance bands are one of the best tools to get toned. Add them to any excersise you do, and the exercise instantly becomes 10x harder and 10x

more effective. Begin with a moderate strength band and work your way up from there. Some great excersises to try out with resistance bands are deadlifts, donkey kicks, hip thrusts, and hip abductors. Start your workout with a circuit of these 3 excersises - doing each 20 times a piece and you’ll have a sculpted rear end in no time! Another staple is the widely known and user friendly dumbell. You can choose anywhere from an easy 3-pounder, or, if you’re feelin’ it you can work all the way up to an astonishing 375 pounds (though that might be pushing it just a little bit!) With the help of dumbells, your squats and lunges will be that much harder and that much more effective. If you’re looking for a challenge, you can even throw on a resistance band and double the intensity for a more extreme workout. Steps can also be incorporated into almost every excersise. Getting bored with squats? Try jump squatting onto your steps! Or try out some inclined lunges for a bit more definition. Combine these tips and techniques in a way that works for you! Everyone is different, but one thing is constant for everyone - consistency is key. Grab a friend and get to squatting! Your butt isn’t going to shape itself!

2022 LUCID AIR

DREAM EDITION LUCID PULLS AN IMPRESSIVE 1111-HP ELECTRIC SEDAN OUT OF THIN AIR.

82

| ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

TOYS

Tape measure in hand, Lucid CEO

Peter Rawlinson is in the driver’sside footwell of his company’s Air Dream, measuring the distance from the brake pedal to the rear seatback. It’s a nontraditional dimension that Rawlinson, a former Lotus and Tesla engineer, uses to assess interior space, and he’s out to prove that his company’s new electric car hit one of its targets. The design of Lucid’s first car, which is now just reaching customers, is born of two goals he set: It should have the interior space of the Mercedes-Benz S-class, and it should handle like a Lotus. The metal tape crackles as it bends through the cabin, and we get the number: 83.1 inches, a few more than what he measured in the S-class. We’ve now driven the 1111-hp Air Dream P (the P is for Performance). At an estimated 5200 pounds, it’ll never shuffle-step like a Lotus, but the Air steers with soul. The feedback flowing into your hands makes it possible to detect change in pavement types. The chassis, not exactly groundbreaking, features a multilink setup with coil springs, adaptive dampers, and anti-roll bars in front and back. With no air springs, active anti-roll bars, or rearwheel steering, the Air feels natural and predictable unraveling corners. Driving it quickly is certainly easy, as is probing the high limits of the tailormade Pirelli P Zero PZ4 Elect tires. The three-position dampers never introduce harshness, even in their most aggressive setting.

cracking 10 seconds. Top speed is governed to 168 mph. Careful tuning of the aerodynamics results in a low 0.20 coefficient of drag. At highway speeds, an audible rush of air passes over the A-pillars. While the sound isn’t intrusive, the Lucid isn’t quite as silent to the ear as MercedesBenz’s EQS electric, which claims to be just as slippery. Lucid didn’t add artificial sound to the car, so what you hear under acceleration is actual motor whine. The radial-flux front and rear motors are identical, and each weighs a mere 163 pounds. They’re a big part of how Lucid managed to get S-class space into a car with a 116.5-inch wheelbase—10.1 inches shorter than the S-class—and a 195.9-inch length. Inside is an attractive mix of leather, Alcantara, and an alpaca blend. Interior fits are good, although the small tumblers on the steering wheel for the audio system and adaptive cruise had a crunchiness that Lucid promises to fix before sales start. Each of the 22 battery modules has 5.4 kilowatt-hours and weighs 51.8 pounds, or 9.7 pounds per kilowatt-hour. The Air Dream’s battery has a 118.0-kWh capacity, while lesser models get a 112.0-kWh pack. The battery pack’s lid flows coolant over top of the cells. Lucid engineers claim their solution chills better than Tesla’s.

The low center of gravity, a byproduct of the battery pack in the floor that boosts the aluminum structure’s rigidity, helps keep body motions in check. The Air might not have the unfiltered flavor of a Lotus, but for a heavy car with a supple ride, it is connected and secure on a fun road.

While the Air Dream Range model on 19-inch wheels has 520 miles of EPA range, the Air Dream P on 21s does 451 miles. Recharging on a 300-kW DC connection can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. The 19.2kW onboard charger should replenish the battery in less than seven hours, so long as the electricity feeding it is powerful enough.

Rawlinson’s goals didn’t mention Bugatti-grade acceleration, but it’s there. Select Sprint mode to unlock the two motors’ combined 1111-hp capability (they’re limited to 784 otherwise) and the acceleration is so hard that it leaves your inner ear a little punch-drunk. A mere squirt of the accelerator brings triple-digit speeds. We’d estimate a 60-mph time in the mid-two-second range with the quarter-mile potentially

It all seems too good to be true. An 1111-hp EV with class-leading range and loads of clever solutions and tech as a first car? When customers who plunked down their $170,500 start racking up real-world miles, we’ll know whether this tenacious company, which nearly went bankrupt pursuing the Dream, will succeed. If what we saw and drove translates to reality, we’d say it won’t vanish into thin air.

“ 60-mph time in the mid-twosecond range with the quarter-mile potentially cracking 10 seconds. Top speed is governed to 168 mph.”

CHIROPRACTORS

OF THE YEAR

Viscogen Gerald R. Mattia D.C., Director Gerald R. Mattia D.C. has been practicing chiropractic for fortyfive years. In his quest to provide clients with the best preventative and therapeutic chiropractic care available, Dr. Mattia studies research along with treatments and technologies from around the world. Consequently, his office houses some of the most cutting-edge technology available: decompression therapy which helps with disc problems in the low back and neck eliminating the need for surgery and class 4 laser to promote healing. These technologies have come to complement the fundamental chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Mattia has begun VISCOGEN to compliment his chiropractic practice, consisting of non-surgical regenerative therapy for knees and other joints of the body. Knee Visc 5 helps restore joint strength and mobility without surgery. Even before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Mattia’s life has not been ordinary. At the age of 15 he had been given six months to live. “ I was born with a severe heart condition called aortic stenosis.” People suffering from this condition have an aortic valve in their heart that gradually degenerates and therefore the heart cannot function properly. Heart surgery in the 60s was not as successful as today. He also had bad allergies. His mother was not ready to give up. On a friend’s recommendation, she took her son to a chiropractor. ‘The aortic valve stopped closing by 92 percent and my allergies were gone,” Dr. Mattia said. He was able to live to the age of 35 when he received his first new aortic valve and the success rate of heart surgery was higher. Dr. Mattia became a chiropractor because of this. He earned his chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College and opened a practice in 1977. Dr. Mattia practiced in New Jersey from 1977 to 2001. During that time he received many awards: Chiropractor of the Year 1995

and Sports Chiropractor of the Year several times. He was appointed to the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, on which he served for six years, by the governor of New Jersey. He was also a Board of Director for the lnternational Chiropractic Association and the Northeast Regional Director. Dr. Mattia has been the president of lnternational Chiropractic association Sports Health and Fitness Council from 1996- 2011 during which he joined Arnold Schwarzenegger every year in Columbus, Ohio for the ICA Fitness Symposium. The Symposium is held in conjunction with the Arnold Sports Festival. ln 2001 Dr. Mattia retired from his NJ practice and moved to Florida to begin semi-retirement. But the quiet time did not last long. “There were so many people I knew I could help.” All during his career Dr. Mattia has taken care of many athletes from middle school to professional. His love for sports has helped him understand that chiropractic spinal care for athletes is required for better performance and nervous system function. Dr. Mattia has helped many chiropractic college graduates begin their careers by having them work with him and gain experience. Outside of the office, Dr. Mattia enjoys golf, power-walking, cycling, baseball, and spending time with his grandkids. Dr. Mattia loves to travel, especially to ltaly. Dr. Mattia’s love for his practice and clients is apparent in his contagious enthusiasm and liveliness. “The best part of my practice is that people come to our practice and get better naturally, without surgery. Touching thousands of lives over the years with the benefits of chiropractic is a professional achievement. “Living to the age of 71 when I was supposed to die at 15 is a personal achievement. A great cardiac surgeon, Kevin Accola M.D., chiropractic care, and prayers saved my life.”

Zoyara Reyes, DC

INARA | Chiropractic-Coaching-Vitality

Born and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Dr. Zoyara Reyes discovered a passion for healthcare early on in her career as a Chief Operating Officer of a medical equipment company. In her role as COO, she began noticing that many common diagnoses had seemingly preventable causes. Her observations led her to believe that true healing must be about more than biology, chemistry, and symptom suppression in the physical body. The emotional, energetic and functional aspects of healthcare appeared to be overlooked. Her curiosity would soon lead her to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida, where she enjoyed exploring neurology, chemistry, and the treatment philosophy of chiropractic care. Her particular fascination was balancing the vital body systems to accelerate treatment results and improve recovery outcomes. Dr. Reyes continues to explore the powerful relationship between thoughts, feelings, and medical conditions. Understanding this relationship guided her through the pandemic as patients presented with psychological challenges in addition to their physical traumas and ailments. Thanks to traditional and modern scientific advances, we have traced the root of many common chronic issues back to preventable causes. Of course, stress is at the top of this list. “As a woman who has experienced the stress of highly demanding careers for over a decade, I understand the need for us to create balance! I know the effects firsthand, so I am a huge advocate for allowing wellness in our lives,” says Dr. Reyes. Dr. Reyes is continually evolving her practice as patients recommend friends and family members for more than just chiropractic care. “They began to call me to talk about life, fears, relationships, and stress management. It is amazing to see the embodiment and practice of wellness changing so many lives and overcoming diagnoses. It is encouraging to see greater awareness of wellness and disease prevention in our modern world and culture.” Her patients celebrate Dr. Reyes for her unique combination of empowering communication, intuitive chiropractic treatment, and genuine belief in the power of healing. Dr. Reyes is the creator of INARA, a hybrid practice where she offers inoffice and virtual services. To learn more about INARA and Dr. Zoyara Reyes, find her on IG @dr.zreyes or @inara_experience.

Dr. Ed Tobenas Allcare Medical & Injury About Dr. Ed Tobenas: Dr. Ed Tobenas is very passionate about providing quality chiropractic care for over 17 years. Dr. Tobenas completed his undergraduate degree at Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science. He then attended Life University's College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia, and earned his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic West where he served as the President of the Gonstead Study Club. Dr. Tobenas is a current member of the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society and utilizes the Gonstead System for patient care where he strongly focuses on the biomechanics of the spine and the body’s own mechanical principles to help patients achieve rapid results and functional correction. About Allcare Medical & Injury: Allcare Medical & Injury is a patient centered multidisciplinary clinic that offers a combination of non-invasive regenerative medical treatments that aid and treat a myriad of conditions, including those that cause chronic pain. Allcare Medical & Injury’s goal is to help each patient make an educated decision about their healthcare and provide them with the most effective, non-invasive treatments for their acute and chronic pain conditions. Allcare Medical & Injury’s commitment to its patients has led them to their development of an Orlando based medical clinic that offers stateof-the-art treatment protocols to help conditions causing pain and by utilizing FDA-approved regenerative treatments with Human Cellular Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Neuropathy Treatment, Orthopedic Treatment, Physical Therapy, and Chiropractic Care. With this wellrounded selection of therapeutic medical treatment options, Allcare Medical & Injury can help patients with an extensive list of pains and problems many thought they might have to “just live with.” The regenerative treatment we use focuses on Wharton’s jelly-derived regenerative tissue because of the tissue’s youthfulness that is still at its full healing power. When you are injected with human cellular tissue products, it is an outpatient procedure and is minimally invasive. _This tissue is young and vibrant, loaded with potent healing properties like proteins, growth factors, cytokines, exosomes, amino acids, peptides, collagen, lipids, hyaluronic acid, and more. The tissue is injected into the area of need and encourages your body’s own natural healing mechanism to repair and regenerate the underlying tissue to bring lasting pain relief. Ultimately, as a multidisciplinary medical and regenerative cellular therapy clinic in Orlando, Allcare Medical and Injury is proud to provide its patients with a non-surgical approach to pain, injury, and aesthetics. They combine the skills of several different doctors and healthcare professionals to help patients feel and look younger fast and effectively.

Dr. Matthew Rumley DC Rumley Family Chiropractic

Dr. Matthew Rumley understands that you don’t truly know someone until you walk in their shoes. He has had the benefit of walking in many people’s shoes over his lifetime. The following words will describe his beginnings and his journey to what he has become. As a child, Dr. Rumley grew up on a farm in North Carolina where he walked in the shoes of our devoted farmers and working class that provide all of us food, building materials and energy. At a young age he became fascinated by both science and history. His formal studies at Elon University, UNCG and Palmer College of Chiropractic allowed him to walk in the shoes of an academic with a deep desire to learn anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and Chiropractic medicine so he could understand how the body functions as a whole. Dr. Rumley’s beginnings on a farm and his time with formal study also led him to discover a passion of health and fitness. This led him to enjoy hobbies which include boxing, cooking, soccer, tennis with his family, traveling, sightseeing and a lover of nature. “Being a lover of nature, I am truly blessed to be in a profession where reconnecting to your health through nature’s tools is at the very center of healing. I grew up enjoying the outdoors in many ways and now I can give that enjoyment back to the community through my 10 years of expertise in a clinic that uses 100% natural methods to treat the body.” Rumley Family Chiropractic is dedicated to serving both children and adults to resolve health concerns utilizing several different techniques such as Spinal Decompression, Deep Tissue LASER, Auto Accident Therapy, and Sports Injury Therapy. DECORATING YOUR HOME OFFICE

Popping Walls & Good Lighting

10. Place an entryway organizer

With so many technological advances, it’s no surprise more and more people are working from home these days. Working from home allows space for saving gas and childcare. Besides that, it allows you to separate more time for family. Laboring at home also brings freedom to decorate the work space in any way you’d like. Whether you are just beginning to adorn your area or you are remodeling it, here are two helpful tips to always implement!

Decorate your walls An important aspect of an office environment is its atmosphere. How well does it inspire you? A good tip is to avoid bare walls. Add splashes of color by hanging chosen pieces of artwork or a canvas with your favorable quotes. Let there be light Good lighting is key in nice spacing. First, consider natural light. Where is your window located? It is often a good idea to situate your desk nearby it.

STATEMENT

Goodbye, Pastels!

2022 is moving in a new direction. Goodbye, pastel tones! It’s all about bold hues this year: red, blues, vibrant greens. Neutral palettes have made an exit and it seems like they’ll be taking more of a background position on interior walls. For example, you can have a bold color such as hot pink, but different shades of the same tone. Jazz up your home space by adding a few statement colors!

Gazing out of a window as the sunlight strikes can spark some useful inspiration in your daily work. If you desire a warmer, more comfortable atmosphere during the night, chase after ambient lighting. Use rope or string lights and position them in a creative format. Hang a collection of pictures on the walls and place the lights around them for decoration. Ambient radiance can be a good stress reliever.
