CITY NEWS

IN CASE

YOU MISSED IT

STY L E E V E N TS, N E WS & G O S S I P F R O M A R O U ND O R LA ND O

By Riesa Pascal

Happy November Orlando! Store are stocking shelves with Christmas favorites and turkeys are nowhere to be seen… you know what that means! It’s fall time in the City Beautiful and as with every season, this highly anticipated one was kicked off with an impressive lineup of thrilling, not-to-be-missed events. Just in case you did miss it though, we’ve got all the highlights for you! After a 2 year absence, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party finally made a return! As well as trick and treating, a whole host of spooky specials were happening at the beloved event. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade featured an array of spooky floats, Disney villains and characters dressed in their Halloween best and the Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show starred the wicked Sanderson Sisters while Disney’s Not-SoSpooky Spectacular was a can’t-miss nighttime extravaganza featuring projections, special effects, fireworks, music and Disney characters. The family-friendly event ran on select nights till October 31st. All month long, SeaWorld Spooktacular was perfect for the entire family to have some trick and treating fun. The little ones loved SeaWorld’s underwater “fantasea” with bright and colorful whimsical creatures, trick or treating, Penelope’s Garden Party, Halloween Dance Party and Sesame Streets Countdown to Halloween. For the second year running, SeaWorld Orlando also joined in the adult scare factor. Howl-OScream at SeaWorld saw guests make their way through Scare Zones as they tried to avoid angry haunts out to get them. There was no use in escaping by running indoors as guests would quickly find themselves in spooky haunted houses! The festivities brought much fun and horror to Orlando. Krush Brau Park once again held their Oktoberfest event last month which featured all of the best and well-known German beers, food, and gifts. Having kicked off the fun on September 16th, the beer drinking activities continued all the way through to October 30th. Also featured were some of Central Florida’s breweries’ Oktoberfest beers. In addition, attendees were also able to experience a keg tapping ceremony along with several other contests including bier stein holding, yodeling, German limbo, German Schuplattler dance, best dressed Oktoberfest person and much more. The Kennedy Space Center hosted it’s 2nd Taste of Space Martini Shake-Off event on October 7th. Visitors had the opportunity to visit multiple culinary stations, tasting flavors of the fall while mingling with

astronauts. In addition to delicious sips and bites, participating local bars and restaurants went head-to-head in a competition, creating their idea of a “Marstini” cocktail for guests to taste and virtually vote for their favorites in the People’s Choice award. Full versions of the “Masrstini” cocktail were made available for purchase throughout the evening. Attendees could also choose to experience Gateway’s new motiontheater ride, Spaceport KSC, where guests can explore the “Red Planet.” From October 8th-30th, our beautiful city had the opportunity to explore immersive, inflatable art like you’ve never seen before at Airplay. Presented by Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, visitors engaged in interactive, inflatable art installations, including a Luminarium from Architects of Air. Light sculptures, interactive mazes, and even more inflatable art filled Seneff Arts Plaza and the Frontyard at Dr. Phillips Center with amazing energy and proved to be a delight for the whole family. Orlando in October doesn’t bring the cooler weather usually associated with fall, but that doesn’t stop us from cozying up in Central Florida! Just like we have Now Snowing at Christmas, the Town of Celebration also treated us to Falling Leaves during Celebration Florida Oktoberfest. From October 21-22, leaves fell 3 times a night at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm along Market Street. Visitors also enjoyed a traditional German experience featuring live music and an interactive show with everything from yodeling and hayrides to pumpkins and crowd sing-a-long fun. Ranked #4 in 2019 and #2 in 2020 by Sunshine Artist Magazine in their annual ranking of the Best Classic/Contemporary Craft Festivals in America, the Mount Dora Craft Festival was proud to earn the #1 spot in their 50th anniversary special ranking of ALL Time Favorite events in 2021. Held on the streets of historic downtown Mount Dora from October 22-23, the downtown streets came alive with more than 400 of the best exhibitors in the country ready to show and sell their fine and fun crafts at the 36th annual event. Festival food, music, beer and wine tasting for adults and a free kid zone for the kids rounded out the fabulous event. On October 29th, Clermont Harvest Festival took over Historic Downtown Clermont for a good old fashioned family harvest festival full of fun and festive spirit. There was a pumpkin patch and photos plus a kidzone, offering train rides, rock climbing, wall bounce house, face painting and a costume contest. There were over 175 vendors showcasing homemade and handmade goods, one of a kind collectables and gifts. Food trucks were also available for snacks and the Downtown restaurants were all open and decorated to the nines!

BEAUTY

November called, She’s Making a

COMEBACK! By Maha Chaudhry

First and foremost, Happy Birthday magnificent Scorpio and Sagittarius! Welcome to your season the season of transformative, powerful, and optimistic free-spirited energy. To celebrate this energy, let’s shop Newvember!

We may be preparing to wrap up fall, but we’re going to hold on to the bold it brought upon us: We’re talking colors, feels and vibes. Here are some beauty and fashion picks to embrace the bold and festive season that we’re currently in. 1. Fierce Looks: We love a bold lip in cooler times paired with a sleek winged liner. For lip: Pat McGrath’s Guinevere - a classy and crisp shade of crimson. For eyes: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner in intense black to really bring out those beautiful eyes. 2. Sophisticated Style: We can now pull out the cashmere that has been so delicately folded or hung in its grace for far too long. Pair a cashmere top with a pair of trousers, or dress it up with leather. Honorable mention: Off 22

the shoulder tops - We love them and can’t get enough. 3. Fiery Fragrance: Though it has been pumpkin spice and everything nice, we’re ready for level two. Did someone say spicy wood? Our top pick for an in-season scent that will not disappoint: Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir - a delicate but spicy mixture of woody scents and tart fruit, marries and pink pepper. 4. Big Mood: Right now, we are feeling the puffed sleeves and flare. Yes, the elongated trousers count, and so do the midi dresses with the dramatic sleeves. 5. A real Gem: The stones of November are Citrine and Topaz, similar in hues of golden to light yellow and light to dark autumn-orange. Topaz can also take shades of blue, green, pink, and purple. Fun fact: Citrine is known as the golden healing crystal that brings happiness, health, energy and prosperity and removes negativity. Add a piece for prosperity, or as just a bold statement.

EDC The Electric Daisy Carnival BY KHADEJAH KHAN

The Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly referred to as EDC, is returning to Orlando, and if you haven’t been yet, it’s an adventure to experience at least once in your life. Held at the Tinker Field Stadium from November 11-12, the three-day carnival has something for everyone, whether you are a veteran music lover, newbie, or just want to see what all the hype is about. Once you enter the fairgrounds, you’ll feel ignited by the carnival’s atmosphere. The jaw-dropping stages are something to marvel at, incorporating laser shows, pyrotechnics, and grandiose sets within the fairgrounds. You can also enjoy the full-size ferris wheel, or immerse yourself in interactive art installations that harmonize technology and nature, from LED lights, glow in the dark spaces, and three-dimensional superstructures. And if we’re lucky, perhaps we’ll see ziplining again from past EDCs. Of course, the headliners and acts this year are full of magnetic artists ready to electrify excited music lovers. Favorites include Afrojack, Kaskade, AC Slater, and Zedd spinning some original tracks and remixes. If you’re new to EDC, don’t fret! EDC encourages a judgement-free zone and open-mindedness to new experiences. Veteran carnivalgoers love to meet new people and will talk your ear off. They

create a friendly environment, are respectful, and spread positivity to a contagious degree. You’ll quickly feel the love and camaraderie, make new friends, and create memories unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. More than a music festival, EDC is a community where people young and old embrace their authentic selves. Carnival-goers dress up in colorful, vibrant, and often humorous costumes (like Big Bird or a hot dog) to express their personalities. Some costumes are subtle in the details and others take up space. Take the opportunity to create, pretend, and play with your individuality in a judgementfree zone; it’s a refreshing change from the humdrum of life. Even if dressing up isn’t your cup of tea, you can still enjoy the experience of witnessing creativity at its craziest. Whether it’s your ninth time at EDC Orlando or your first time, whether you decide to go all three days or just one, it is an unforgettable experience with something for everyone. Invite some friends, your 18+ kids or grandkids, or be adventurous on your own. Either way, in a friendly environment and magnetic music, arts, and culture carnival, you are sure to have a good time. A Sweet November Reminder to Surrender in

Gratitude By Maha Chaudhry

HEALTH & BEAUTY

The purest form of love, gratitude, and acceptance is

what makes a heart so full. This month we are reminded to give thanks to the very things that take place on the daily and in between our busy schedules. It’s things like the warm cup of joy we call coffee, that awakens so much within us and prompts the start of our day. It’s a hug from a loved one and the way their embrace fills us whole. And then there are the delicious meals we share with those we care for immensely - they nourish our bodies and our soul. These are the simple pleasures of life that can be so easily overlooked. The nice thing is that it only takes but a few minutes to recall their significance in our lives, and when we do, what we have suddenly becomes enough.

When looking in front: In front of you is the now, and the now is the only place we really need to be focused on being. But it can be the most challenging place to find ourselves with all the distractions, deadlines, must do’s and must have’s around us. But while being so focused on the future and so fixated on the past, we can miss the precious moments that are now. Practice being present. Next time you sit with your cup of coffee or tea, try tuning out all the distractions around you. Give yourself a few minutes just to enjoy each sip and take in the sensations you feel in that moment. You can practice this in other ways too, but the key is to make a conscious decision to eliminate irrelevant thoughts that are taking away from the given moment and allowing yourself to revisit them later. This is your time for solitude, your “me” time and during this time you are allowed to just be.

As we approach the near-end of 2022, it is an ideal time to reflect on the year at a glance, as well as the time we have left to prepare “It is an ideal time to ourselves for the year ahead. I hope When looking ahead: Look ahead reflect on the year at a that we can collectively let go of what with optimistic lens. What hasn’t been glance, as well as the no longer serves us, and take with done yet still stands a chance. Contrary time we have left to us what brings us peace. I know it prepare ourselves for the to what you may have been encouraged has been challenging in many ways, to believe, it isn’t too late to start making year ahead.” and the truth is that challenging the big moves whether it’s in business, days cannot always be avoided. Yet, there is a comforting love or whatever else your heart desires. Nothing happens notion in that though we cannot always control our before its time, so when looking ahead, look to it with circumstances, we can absolutely change the way we react fresh perspective. The choice to carry the old burdens is to them. It is then we see patterns, behaviors and situations yours, the choice to bring on the new is also yours. Thank change, break and conform for the better. Here are some the possibilities around you - some of your best moments ways to practice gratitude looking back, in the now, and are yet to come. ahead. There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to gratitude. You When looking back: You experienced highs and lows, can alter it in any way that brings you comfort. Some some that took you on quite the ride. Look back with people prefer to journal while others like to speak it into grace in knowing you did the best you could considering truth. The magic is in the practice. what you knew then. Thank the opportunities that led you to where you are today, for better or worse, you learned, Here’s to the beautiful month of Sweet November. May it grew, and landed where you needed to be. The people who be full of everything we have to be thankful for, and to all came into your life did so with purpose. Some only came the wonderful things that remain ahead. to make an appearance and some have since remained, nonetheless, they were added to your path for good reason.

CELEBRITY SOUP

What do Solange Knowles, Lil Jon and Alicia Keys all have in common? Not only are they all successful musicians… they are also all DJs! But wait, there’s more! Celebrity DJs aren’t just A-list musicians. From acclaimed athletes like Dennis Rodman to washed-up reality show stars like Jon Gosselin, you would be surprised to see how many celebrities are gaining attention and making a name for themselves by crossing over into what is quickly becoming one of the most lucrative careers in the world.

IDRIS ELBA Having been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award and five times for a Primetime Emmy Award, it’s no secret that Idris Elba is a talented actor, but did you know he also performs as a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis? Unlike some other celebs on the list, Idris has been DJing since he was 14 and not just since it became “cool” to do so in recent years. In 1986, he began helping an uncle with his wedding DJ business and within a year, Idris had started his own DJ company with some of his friends. He has DJed everything from NBA All Star parties to BET's Rising Icons. PARIS HILTON If you want to talk about a celebrity that has done it all, look no further than Paris Hilton! The American heiress is not only a reality TV star, model, actor and entrepreneur… she is also a celebrity DJ and a successful one at that! Earning a whopping $1 million per party, Paris’ DJ career first took off in 2014 when she picked up a five year 'Foam & Diamonds' residency at Ibiza's renowned club Amnesia. Since then, Paris has continued to pick up residencies around the world and has even won prestigious accolades like the Best Breakthrough DJ award at the NRJ DJ Awards. SHAQUILLE O'NEAL Even though Shaquille O’Neal has been a part of the DJ scene for over a decade, his recent transition into electronic dance music has seen his fame sky rocket over the last few years. Having garnered thousands of new fans, there’s a strong chance that you’ll see Shaq DJing at some of the biggest EDM festivals today such as Electric Daisy Carnival, TomorrowWorld, and Lost Lands. In an interview with Forbes, Shaq shared his desires to produce a full-length album and eventually embark on even more tours.

ELIJAH WOOD When he’s not trying to destroy rings in the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor, everyone’s favorite Hobbit spends part of his time DJing under the stage name Wooden Wisdom. In numerous interviews, Elijah Wood has described himself as a lifelong music nerd with a deep love for vinyl record collection. Twenty years ago, that passion for music led Elijah to begin a DJ career which he says has served as a positive creative outlet and energizing medium that fills a certain space thar acting does not. PAULY D Although he first gained fame for starring in the hit TV show Jersey Shore, Pauly D has since sought out to show he is much more than just the “guido” personality that he and his fellow cast aimed to portray. Since his reality TV days, the creative and music-loving Pauly D has earned even more fame through DJing. Perhaps it was the fact that he was already a celebrity—or maybe he’s just that good— but all we know is that it didn't take long for him to gain a large enough fan base to begin booking tours all over the country so keep an eye out… DJ Pauly D might be coming to a city near you! NICK CANNON What comes to mind when you think of Nick Cannon? From his extensive television career to his massive brood of children, there are many things that you may associate with Nick Cannon, but I bet DJing wasn’t one of them! I am not ashamed to admit that I was one of the many who didn’t know that the actor and comedian has been DJing since 1996. Nick’s DJ sets have mainly taken place at various parties around Las Vegas though who knows where he will pop up next.

BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING GUIDE

There’s no time to fall behind!

It’s time for training 101 on how to shop for your favorite beauty products this Black Friday. If you don’t know what this special day consists of, here is some context: Black Friday is held the day after Thanksgiving and it is the biggest shopping day of the year. Think about that one beauty product you’ve been wanting this fall season. Now eliminate a few bucks off the original price. Envision yourself with extra tips and tricks on how to score the deal. You have success! Here we provide the best ways to tackle November 24th, 2017 and just about any Black Friday afterwards. 1. Stay Updated Research. Research. Research. Best of all, sign up for email newsletters from your favorite brands for early access to discounts. Make a game plan and download shopping apps, follow your favorite retailers on social media, and search for ads online. 2. Don’t Be Fooled Some stores increase prices weeks before Black Friday comes around which makes discounts appear higher. Take a look at their original prices

54

beforehand so you don’t get tricked into buying an item that is not as significantly cheaper. 3. Plan Ahead If you are trying to stick to a budget, make a list and decide how much you want to spend on each person. Yes, this even includes a price range for yourself. This will ensure your hidden lunatic persona won’t make a grand appearance on Black Friday — especially when you see that $400 Marc Jacobs purse you’ve been dying to buy for the past three months but still can’t afford to. 4. Bring a Buddy It’s safe to say Black Friday can bring out a double personality from anyone. It can bring out your best but it can also bring out your worst. The environment is hectic. Shoving, sweating, running, grabbing — it can make you tense and sometimes you might just end up picking items you don’t really need. I mean, do you really need another expensive pair of heels? Running deals through your friend will ensure neither of you go overboard on shopping.

BEAUTY

WHAT THE FLUFF

Brow Lamination, the Microblading Alternative Brow lamination is essentially a brow hair texturizing treatment. It refers to a process in which a brow specialist softens the hair follicle using a chemical solution and then re-shapes, or sets, it into a more refined, lifted, smoother shape. The result? Perfect brushed up brows that give a fuller, more uniform and defined look. When done correctly the brow will lay in a more aesthetically pleasing shape. In addition to smoothing the hairs out, you can also re-shape the brows a little during lamination; for example raising the arch or lowering the tail to get your desired shape. Unlike microblading, this treatment is non-invasive and isn’t permanent, making it a great option for a lot of people who don’t want to make the commitment to other brow services.

FAUX LIP JOB? LIP BLUSHING IS THE ANSWER Lip blushing is semipermanent, tattooed makeup that tints your lips using a cosmetic tattoo gun (on a low setting) and water-based inks. The result is kind of similar to lip fillers—in that your lips will look a little fuller simply by being defined and enhanced with pigment—but lip blushing won’t actually change the shape or feeling of your lips. Instead, it’ll just leave you with a soft, shaded-in color that can enhance your lip symmetry, cover uneven pigmentation or scars, and give you the illusion of bigger, fuller lips. Typically, lip blushing lasts between two to three years and will gradually lighten and fade over time, until your lips slowly return to their natural hue. So your lips will look far lighter after two years than they will after six months, which is why many tattoo artists recommend yearly refresh sessions to prolong the lip shade you want.

LASHES

Get fuller, longer lashes with lash lamination! Lash lamination is a lash enhancement option that gives semi-permanent results. It’s a chemical treatment that lifts and curls your natural lashes to make them look longer and give them an attractive shape that will open up your eyes. We’re talking about the level of curl no lash curler can give you! The lash lamination is often combined with a lash tint for people whose lashes are not totally black. Darkening them up even just a few shades makes them look a lot thicker, so you won’t need any mascara, although you can wear it if you want to.

The fact that lash lamination works with your natural lashes means it looks very natural, not overdone. There are no extra fibers, like with lash extensions, and there’s virtually no maintenance involved. The treatment is done by applying several products to your natural lashes. These formulas lift up the lashes into an attractive upward curl, and optionally, darken them. The products penetrate the lashes, so the effects are achieved from within. They can’t be washed off and the curl doesn’t get relaxed for the length of the eyelash growth cycle.

TIPS FOR A PERFECT HAIRCUT Never get a bad cut again!

A fresh men’s hairstyle can do wonders on him, but a bad cut can make him look a bit off. When you’re trying to enhance certain facial features or give your hair more volume, one fact remains: choosing the right haircut can be tough. It’s safe to say that your hair is a bold extension of your style. It’s not a part of the body that you can necessarily cover up or hide. There’s pressure to look good while remaining confident, so these decisions don’t get any easier as time goes by. Question is, how do you choose the perfect haircut? Check out how we lay out our advice in three easy steps.

best products for your hair. (Tip: make sure to always book appointments ahead of time so you don’t have to run somewhere else.) 2. Don’t fear the blow-dry

In order to receive the silky, smooth look, it’s essential that you blow-dry your hair from the roots to tips. Rubbing your hair with a towel after it has been washed is not enough. Every man should carry a good quality hairdryer unless the final look includes water and gel.

1. Choose the right barber

3. Pick the right products

The best way to find your ideal hair stylist is through personal recommendation. If you see a co-worker or a friend with a fresh cut, ask him where he got it done. Having a regular barber will ensure that you receive a consistent, sharp haircut each time.

Everybody’s hair is different, so what may work for your friends’ hair may not work for yours. Specialized products, such as sea-salt spray, wax and texture dust serve as a general rule. The best idea would be to ask your barber for advice because he or she will already know the ins and outs of your hair.

The best part of it all is that he or she can always guide you to the right hairstyles and suitable lengths. The ideal barber will also learn the shape of your hair texture and give you advice on the

MOST COMMON PROCEDURES For Men! 1. Liposuction

Liposuction is consistently one of the top cosmetic procedures across the board, according to the ASPS, so it’s not surprising that it lands in the top spot for men as well. But that doesn’t mean that men and women are getting the same type of liposuction or looking for the same results. Typically men don’t want to be thin, they want to be defined. They want to get rid of the pudge at their waist, but they also want obliques and the manly contours that make them look stronger. For men, it’s not just about getting rid of unwanted fat, but augmenting and enhancing muscle. To meet the desires of the male clients, many surgeons are using body contouring techniques with their liposuction. More like definition liposuction. That means not only removing fat, but doing it with the purpose of enhancing or creating muscle contours.

2. Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Gynecomastia surgery, or male breast reduction, is one of the other most common cosmetic procedures among men year over year. That’s partially because only men get it. Gynecomastia is the medical term for enlarged or feminized breasts in men and the surgical procedure usually involves removing the tissue in combination with liposuction to contour the area. Gynecomastia as a condition is common and affects about half of males at birth and one in four men age 50 to 69, according to the Mayo Clinic. No matter how you slice it, whether these men are getting true gynecomastia surgery or not, it’s clear that procedures to augment and contour the chest are increasingly popular. 3. Blepharoplasty (a.k.a. Eyelid Surgery)

Men with lines, wrinkles will see a doctor wanting a

“face lift.” The solution, an eye lift. Most men first notice signs of aging around their eyes and typically complain about eye bags or excess eyelid skin that they feel makes them look older. It’s expected, then, that blepharoplasty is consistently among the most popular procedures for men. Eye lifts are performed on either the upper or lower lids (often both) and remove excess skin to smooth wrinkles and make the eye area appear smoother and more youthful. They’re popular among male patients, because they are relatively simple procedures that offer big results with little down time. The recovery is easy and there is little to no evidence that you’ve had anything done. 4. Hair Transplant

Hair transplants are becoming very popular. According to the American Hair Loss Association, about two-thirds of men experience hair loss by the time they are 35 years old. That number climbs to 85 percent by the time they reach 50. The main culprit is androgenic alopecia (commonly referred to as male pattern baldness), and, as the name suggests, it is one of the issues men deal with most. It’s understandable that hair transplants would be among the most popular cosmetic procedures for men, but one of the reasons that more men are seeking them out these days is that there have been technological advances that allow them to work better and leave less scarring. While the procedure is time consuming, the success rate is high with these techniques because you’re transplanting from your own body and you don’t have to worry that you’re going to reject yourself. These new techniques are also effective treatments for facial hair and eyebrow hair.

Automobili Pininfarina Delivers FIRST Battista Cars to U.S. Clients and FURTHER STRENGTHENS PRESENCE in North America The first Battista pure-electric hyper GT cars crafted for clients in North America are delivered to new owners in October, marking another significant milestone for Italian luxury car brand Automobili Pininfarina. The first bespoke Battista is followed by the exclusive Battista Anniversario, which will also leave the Battista Atelier in Cambiano, Italy this month to be received by another U.S. owner. The arrival of the first two Battista cars in the U.S. coincide with a strengthened presence in the region for Automobili Pininfarina, through the addition of a new retail partner in Dallas, Texas. Per Svantesson, Automobili Pininfarina CEO, said: “The team and I are very proud of Automobili Pininfarina’s expansion in the U.S. and the delivery of the first Battista cars stateside. This symbolises our creation of a new luxury electric car segment both in the U.S. and globally. With a passionate collector receiving the first Battista in North America, we see tremendous confidence in this masterpiece of design and technology in this influential community.” “North America is a very special region for Automobili Pininfarina. The appetite in the community for peerless design and the demand for innovative electric luxury cars means that the majority of the 150 bespoke Battista we handcraft in Italy will be owned by U.S. clients.” Additionally, this month, the first ever series production Battista will make an exclusive appearance at a customer event in New York state. It will be presented to clients with the newly created four-piece Battista Luggage Collection, which is making its global premiere at the event. The unique set is finished in tan leather with matching stitching and Triangolo quilting, echoing the interior design of the Villa d’Este 2021 award-winning Verde Paradiso Battista. EXQUISITE ELEGANCE: FIRST U.S. BATTISTA IN DETAIL Every Battista is bespoke, with the first U.S.bound example individually tailored and designed by its owner, a private collector on the West Coast, in collaboration with Dave Amantea, Automobili Pininfarina Chief Design Officer. Since its North American debut as a design concept during Monterey Car Week in 2018, Battista has proved a popular choice with collectors in the region. This is largely due to widespread appreciation of the Pininfarina badge as assurance of not only legendary design,

but also investment potential, proven by the consistent high values of Pininfarina-designed classic cars in the resale market. The specification of the first U.S. Battista features a sophisticated silver and carbon fibre theme with red aluminium details. Led by an Argento Liquido paint finish on the body, the Carbon Accent Pack and mirror caps finished in exposed signature Carbon tinted in black deliver enhanced presence. The streamlined Goccia roof is painted in Nero and the Exterior Jewellery Pack has been specified by the client in brushed aluminium painted in a bespoke vibrant red. This sees a line extending along the ower body parts accentuating the dramatic shape and flowing lines of the Battista’s body. Matching red brake calipers and centre lock rings complement the Impulso wheel rims painted in Gloss Black. The interior upholstery is finished in chromefree leather that is sustainably tanned by a supplier local to Automobili Pininfarina in Italy, using the leaves from regional olive tree harvesting. The GT seats are finished in a red luxury leather with black contrast stitch and quilting combined with a black Triangolo quilting on centre console and door inserts continuing the colour theme and detailing inside the cabin. Every detail is considered on this example, with a bespoke car key – a special request from the customer – featuring a stripe finished in the same red anodized brushed aluminium to match the interior Aluminium Detailing. The second Battista to leave the Atelier this month is the first of five exclusive Battista Anniversario cars, all of which were sold to U.S. clients during its world premiere at Monterey Car Week in 2021. MADE IN ITALY: THE NEW BATTISTA ATELIER Every Battista is meticulously hand-crafted in the recently opened Atelier, where prospective owners are invited to a dedicated commissioning lounge to collaboratively design their hyper GT as part of the bespoke programme. With a nearinfinite combination of bespoke enhancements possible, this unique customer journey makes owning Battista a special proposition unlike any other. The first U.S. bespoke Battista was assembled by 10 craftspeople and took more than 1,250 hours as it moved through 14 production, paint,

and quality assurance zones before leaving the Atelier for delivery. The Battista Anniversario, the second U.S. model to leave the Atelier, required an extended 18-week schedule and 1,340 hours to complete due to its hand-painted finish and bespoke design features. AUTOMOBILI PININFARINA ACCELERATES IN AMERICA The Italian luxury carmaker has enhanced its U.S. presence with the addition of Automobili Pininfarina Dallas to its growing retail network, the 10th world-class retail partner for the marque in North America. Located in Dallas, Texas, the new retail partner will be led by General Manager Heath Strayhan (pininfarina@avondale.com). LUXURY AT HAND: NEW BATTISTA LUGGAGE COLLECTION A newly created tailored Battista Luggage Collection is now available and is as bespoke as every Battista. Automobili Pininfarina has launched the luxurious four-piece luggage set exclusively for Battista, including a cabin travel bag, weekend holdall, shoe bag and suit bag. Elegantly designed to fit perfectly inside the hyper GT, the set is available alongside the bespoke personalisation service options for each hand-finished example, ensuring the luggage precisely matches the individual specification of a client’s Battista, allowing them to express their personality everywhere they travel. Marcia Castro Socas, MS, MBA Real Estate Broker, Castro Realty Group With over 20 years of experience as a Real Estate Broker, Marcia brings long term experience, dedication, and customer service to her clients. With hundreds of closed transactions, her ability to overcome obstacles and reach the closing table is renowned. Marcia has a sales volume of approximately $100 Million, and has attained the level of multi-million dollar producer every year for well over the past decade. It is important to note that her sales volume of approximately $100 Million are personal sales, not those of a team or group. Specialized designations include the Graduate of Realtor Institute specialization (GRI), as well as certification as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), and Accredited Staging Professional. Marcia is equipped to assist clients whether they are buying their first home or their luxurious multimillion dollar dream home. Marcia’s Master in Business Administration (MBA) features a specialization in Marketing, equipping her with the exemplary skill set required to effectively market properties and transform homes into beautiful listings that sell for top dollar. Due to the length of her career, coupled with the multigenerational longevity of Castro Realty Group in the Central Florida area, and the loyalty of satisfied customers, Marcia’s sales territory covers not only the Orange County market, but also Seminole, Lake, and Osceola Counties. As a lifelong resident of Central Florida and the Windermere area, one of her greatest strengths is in assisting families relocating to the area. Helping these families understand the area, secure wonderful homes, and negotiate pricing, are part of her proven track record of success. Photo by Kimberly Jefcoat

In addition to serving clients as a Real Estate Broker, Marcia previously took the coursework and examination to obtain licensure as a mortgage broker and also held ownership in a title company. She obtained those designations because she believes that the best way to ensure that she serves her real estate clients best is to ensure that she knows what they will encounter every step of the way. She has also personally bought, renovated, and sold close to 100 properties, providing in-depth knowledge of renovation and the power of real estate investing. As a natural extension of her passion for real estate, Marcia has been a speaker at multiple real estate classes, has spoken to high school students about investing in real estate, and helps others learn to invest in and renovate properties through her website at MarciaSocas.com.

Danny Hilwa, P.A. ALHS Millennium Homes Realty, LLC, Accredited Luxury Home Specialis Danny Hilwa has a unique passion for Orlando, having lived in the area for 44 years since he was 3 years old. Attending Park Maitland, Trinity Prep and Rollins College, he has watched Central Florida develop from a small town into the magnificent city that it is today. He has been licensed for 21 years specializing solely in high-end luxury properties, gaining intense experience with a proven track record of results with top sales and numerous awards throughout his career. He is an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS) and is fluent in English, Spanish and Arabic. Danny believes that the key to this industry is loyalty and taking the time to treat each client like family rather than as a transaction. Many agents preach this but rarely follow through and try to juggle many clients at once. As a result, he is proud and humbled to have an amazing reputation built by repeat clients and referrals using very little self-advertising. He is committed to his family and feels his upbringing is the cornerstone of his success. In fact he is fortunate to have both his parents and his brother as neighbors in his community, which he feels is his biggest blessing. Danny and His wife Diana love to travel experiencing cultures and learning traditions abroad. Over the years he has developed amazing skills in the art of negotiation because all the postcards and ads mean nothing if your agent does not understand that the core of real estate is intense and calculated negotiation. Danny is proud to have closed over $135 million in personal sales, and these earned numbers are his own. The general public does not realize that most agents often

combine the sales figures of multiple agents in their office as a team and lump their sales figure in their advertisements to show a cumulative but misleading volume to lure your business. Many do the same when representing “combined years of experience.” Always remember that even the best surgeon can only do so many procedures without sacrificing the quality and attention to each patient. Please remember that you will truly only be hiring ONE agent to represent you, even in the largest office or the best team it will be one individual you will be calling consistently for help. If it seems that your agent is boasting sales that seem so high and unrealisticthat is exactly what they are doing. Remember when you get a ‘Just Sold’ card in the mail most of the time the agent who mailed it to you DID NOT actually sell that home, they merely are letting you know it just sold with their photo nearby misleading you to believe they were involved. There are many excellent agents in Orlando and Danny urges you to find the agent, not the office, who will give you the attention you need and deserve to make the process work in your best interest. Find the agent that wants to represent you, not sell you. As a resident of Vizcaya, Danny specializes solely in Dr. Phillips, Windermere and Lake Nona, with 100 percent of his sales in these areas that he knows and loves. He is truly honored to be able to be a part of Orlando’s growth and would love the opportunity to represent you and your family. Considering his humility and dedication to the luxury market and Danny’s love for Orlando, his motto remains the same from the day he started two decades ago: “The one thing money will never buy you is class!”

My wife and I worked with Matt Tomaszewski throughout the process of selling our home and also purchasing another. Matt was great to work with, very knowledgeable, helpful and made himself available at all times. Very professional and enthusiastic. Robert S.

Chocky Burks and Corcoran Realty did an outstanding job selling my home and handling the purchase of my new home. My first experience with Chocky was in 2016 when she sold my home in 6 days after it had previously been listed with another agent for over 18 months. Julie H.

Corcoran Premier Realty handled the sale of our home in a professional and responsive manner from start to finish. This is the third time we have used Steve Healy as our agent. In our opinion Steve is at the top of his field. Gary F.

From starting our search to our closing we couldn’t have asked for better professionalism and service. Matt Tomaszewski was incredibly knowledgeable about the Windermere market and helped us find a perfect home for our family! Thaley R.

Chocky is a seasoned professsional that knows the market, understand the art of negotiation, and will not give up on making sure all parties are happy through this process. We've moved 7 times in 20 years and with the amount of time given in this recent move, she masterfully made this puzzle come together. Samuel L.

Matt Tomaszewski is a consummate professional. In selling one of my properties we encountered an exterior issue out of our control. However, Matt perservered and we finally had several offers and he closed the deal. Darrel D.

We had the most wonderful experience working with Chocky Burks. She worked extremely hard everyday until she found our forever home. She has the experience that you want when you are looking to buy or sell your home. April P.
