SOURCE MAMA

WELCOME

I am thrilled to welcome everyone to our Source Kids Disability Expo in Perth for the very first time.

Follow us for all the latest event updates and news!

We are so happy to bring our expo to Perth, and we can’t wait to welcome you all in the doors to the event, which brings together the latest products, services, technology and information under the one roof, for the two-day event. We’ll be showcasing over 90 exhibitors and sponsors, along with some amazing, knowledgeable and inspiring speakers at the expo – that will be focused on giving people with a disability and their families, carers and professionals the opportunity to find and try out products and talk with providers. There will also be some amazing interactive zones within our expo making it the perfect day out for all of the family, this includes an Active Zone, two Game Zones, a Sensory Zone to chill out and recharge in and our Info + Performance Zone with an incredible line up of speakers and entertainment including The Voice star Jordan Anthony and Western Force Rugby. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Source Kids team for their relentless enthusiasm and passion in making this event such a wonderful success, particularly given the challenges over the last 12 months. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and performers for their support of this event. Without these wonderful businesses and individuals, we could not have delivered such a comprehensive and inclusive event for those attending. I hope that everyone enjoys the expo and has the opportunity to explore, find, test, see and be inspired by what is on offer.

Caring can be a rewarding experience however it can sometimes be challenging, and it is important as a carer, that you take the time to look after yourself as well. During this session we will discuss the importance of creating a positive support system for physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing. Presented by Laura Malcolm, Carers WA

FINDING TRUSTED CARE AND SUPPORT WORKERS In partnership with Source Kids, Mable recently surveyed over 100 parents to find out what they want to know about engaging and working with support workers for their children with a disability. The findings were eye-opening, and one which stood out the most was that, over 40% of respondents find it hard to even define what they want in a support worker. In this Infopod session, Pieta Manning from Mable will walk you through navigating, finding and connecting with your first support worker. Presented by Pieta Manning, Mable
