SUMMER IS HERE!! We have been waiting all year for summer. We have a jam-packed summer of fun drawings for you! We kick it off with something you see in the ocean, a lobster, and to keep the theme going we head to the beach and draw a beach scene Then we get to draw something you need to wear to the beach – a bathing suit The fun doesn’t stop there, we are going medieval and learning to draw a castle and a crown and a shield to protect us from the dragon This summer is going to be HOT and fun, grab your friends and jump right in! MONTHLY SOCIAL JUNE: READY, SET, GO SPORTS NIGHT!

Got some extra energy? Enjoy sports? Come join us for a night of being active and getting a workout all while partaking in various sports. We got options of Hockey, 4 square, Soccer, and more. There will be snacks and drinks provided. Highly recommend participants to wear active clothing and closed toed running/active shoes. All participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring attendant with them.

MONTHLY SOCIAL JULY: SPLASH!

Need to escape the heat? Come join us for a night of water fun with friends and staff. We'll toss water balloons, play a game of water tag, and make water inspired crafts. Highly recommended to wear active clothes, closed toed shoes, and bring towels. Participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them.

MONTHLY SOCIAL AUGUST: END OF SUMMER BBQ

Summer is coming to an end so let's have an outdoor send off! Join us for our annual end of summer BBQ where we will enjoy some hot dogs, fruit, chips, and even make a potato salad. There will also be games to play with friends. Participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., except school holidays, breaks, and inservice days.

Payment Options

R.O.C.K. Afterschool payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Scholarships are available for those who qualify; awarded as funding is available. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

At Camp San José Jr., your child will participate in an unforgettable summer camp! We combine camp traditions with a wide variety of enrichment and educational activities. Children will have the opportunity to create cool art projects, play games and, sing funny songs while ensuring CDC safety measures. Camp San José Jr. includes skill-building, making new friendships, and much more! Campers need to bring water, lunch, and sunscreen each day. Each Camp San José Jr. session runs for one (1) week.

*Safety is our main priority and we will continue to follow all Santa Clara County and the State of California guidelines. Please keep your child home if they are displaying any signs of illness and report the absence to the campsite that your child is registered in.

HIRLN (Head Injury Recreation and Leisure Network) invites you to join us for a night of singing and fun. We will meet at the entrance of Round 1 and spend the night showing off those vocal skills. Sing solo, sing as duos, or singing as a group we'll do it all. Must register in advance either on-line or in person at nearest community center. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present. Attendant will need to pay for own fees or register in activity.

HIRLN (Head Injury Recreation and Leisure Network) invites you to join our group to attend a music performance brought to by the students of SJSU. Participants will need to pay own fees for parking. Please register in advance either on-line or in-person at nearest community center. Come join us at Mayfair Community Center for some arts and crafts fun! Throughout the program participants will improve fine motor skills, increase social skills, and learn to expand their creativity Each class will be guided by a City Staff. This program is geared towards groups of people with disabilities. Organization's Staff must accompany clients 1:4 staff to participant ratio. VIRTUAL LET'S TALK MOVIES

Love to watch movies. Join us on Zoom and let's talk movies! Each meeting will consist of a mixture of trivia questions, discussion questions, and whether you would recommend the film. All participants must be in attendance first meeting to select films as a group. Highly recommend having access to the following streaming platforms: Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, or Amazon Prime. This program is designed for persons with disabilities but, anyone may join.

THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS SUMMER CAMP

DIABETES CAMP TYPE 1

This collaborative day camp program is provided by the City of San José's Therapeutic Services and California Diabetes Association There will be fun activities, outings, games, crafts, and diabetes education. Parental/Guardian education classes are available as needed. Nursing staff will be on site to help monitor blood sugars and provide education to participants and families.

PROJECT POWER! TYPE 2 DIABETES PREVENTION CAMP

Is your child diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or pre-prediabetes? Are they close to being diagnosed? Has your pediatrician encouraged your child to eat healthier, exercise more, or lose weight? If you said YES to any of these questions, then this camp is for you! Come have fun and learn about healthy lifestyle choices. This is a camp with art, sports, activities, healthy snacks, and diabetes education. A diabetes educator and dietician will be at the camp to answer questions and teach healthy living skills. Camp staff will get the kids moving and having fun! Ages 5-12. This camp is a joint collaboration between the City of San José and the American Diabetes Association.
