He then went on to play several games of Real Tennis to raise funds for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Charity. A full report of the day can be read here.

The Radley Reunion programme 2018 The Radleian Society will be hosting the following Reunions this year. Sat 15th September – ORs who started at Radley in the years1973-78. Register here. Sat 6th October – ORs who left 50 years ago in 1968. Registerhere.


Radley For Life: Networking Event – 6th November 2018 The next RFL Networking Event will once again take place at Savills in London, focusing on 'Reinventing yourself through career change'. You can find out more about this event and register here.

Hong Kong and Singapore receptions Two parties are being organised in Hong Kong and one in Singapore for ORs, parents and prospective parents. Wed 31st October – OR Dinner at the China Club Thur 1st Nov – Parent Drinks Party at the Hong Kong Club Date TBC early Nov – OR/Parent Drinks Party in Singapore Invitations will be sent out, but please emailradsoc@radley.org.uk to register interest in attending.

PREVIOUS EVENTS HOSTED BY THE RADLEIAN SOCIETY

Mariners' Challenge – 10th June On a lovely June day, RCBC hosted the annual Mariners' Challenge, bringing together Mariners for a BBQ, a paddle on the river and a fun race with the current 1st VIII. It was also a special day with Jock Mullard being honoured with the new eight being officially named after him. More here.

Parents' Summer Drinks Parties – 15th & 16th May Two events were held at the Oriental Club, one for Shell parents and one for 6.2 parents, attended by over 180 guests. The evenings were a chance to socialise and find out about the benefits of the Radleian Society and Radley for Life. More here.


Wesson Cup and Wags' 100 – 20th May The third Wesson Cup between Radley Rangers, the 1st XI and I Zingari was also a day to celebrate cricket professional, Andrew Wagner's, 100+ terms at Radley. More here.

Norman Haggett Memorial Service – 19th May A moving and heartfelt memorial service for Norman Haggett took place, mid-May in Chapel. Friends, colleagues and ORs from Radley, as well as Cothill and his RAF days, gathered to remember this great man. The service was followed by a reception in Clock Tower Court, where stories of Norman were readily exchanged. More here.

Lodge Dinner – 21st April The Radley Lodge returned to Radley for a meeting involving tea and a talk on the building of Memorial Arch. This was followed by a reception, during which a donation was given to a group of current boys' charitable efforts, and then an excellent dinner. More here.

OTHER NEWS

Mongol Rally: Fundraising for the Silk Fund Old Radleians Harry Clifton (Bligh), Jamie Farr and Will Caplan (all 2012) will be taking on the Mongol Rally this summer to raise money for the Silk Fund. You can find out more about their 13,500km trip in a Nissan Micra to Ulan Ude in eastern Siberia and donate here.


Publications survey A big thank you to the 1,200+ of you that completed the Publications survey we sent out back in April. We have gathered your responses and are now going to conduct some further research, after which we will feed back on the findings in the autumn. Watch this space!

Glimpse into the Archives Throughout 2018 the WW1 commemoration blog has been remembering each man named on the Radley College War Memorial. The @RadleyArchives Twitter account is also naming each of these ORs on the centenary of his death, as well as providing other insights into the world of the Radley Archives.
