Radley 175 - A Year in Pictures

Page 1

A picture tells a thousand words. It is often difficult to encapsulate everything that goes on in a year at Radley when giving a speech, writing an end of term letter or penning an article for a magazine. We hope some photographs might help... and so welcome you to a new publication for us: A Year in Pictures.

No ordinary year, of course. It was lovely to celebrate our 175 anniversary in a whole variety of ways and you will see plenty of evidence of that in these pages; we have even added a fifth ‘P’ – ‘Party’ – to the four strategic themes that underpin all we do. There were some lovely moments as we celebrated our birthday.

It is not those pictures, however, that stand out for me. It is the picture of the ‘every-day’ that are in these pages: boys on the pitches, in the classrooms, wandering around the campus. They capture the variety and the beauty of the place. The energy too: Radley always seems to me to have a very healthy level of dynamic purpose.

As you look through the pages, you will enjoy particular photographs: the quirky, the events you remember or have heard about, and those where you know the boys pictured. I hope, though, that the book offers more than that. I hope it conveys a happy school and does so in a natural and vibrant way. I think it does.
