Inspire Programme: Desborough and Radley

Page 1

The Inspire Programme is a collaboration of two schools – Radley College and Desborough College - working together in partnership. Its fundamental aim is to develop a passion for learning. We want our students to listen, think and to question ideas. We believe that students from different schools working together can develop greater self-awareness, empathy and a growth mindset.

The Inspire Programme involves a series of online lectures, given by our teachers, highlighting their own passion for learning. We will encourage students to join these lectures, to ask questions and to challenge their own understanding. In the libraries at each school further reading will be available on each presented topic.

The Inspire Programme will challenge our students to work together in collaboration to produce their own piece of academic enrichment. This might be a written article, a composed piece of music, drama or a video. We want to challenge our boys to find a topic of commonality, to work as a team and to celebrate their combined achievements.

Each Inspire Lecture will run online on the dates advertised at 3:45 pm.

Each Inspire Lecture will be presented live allowing you to ask questions either through the chat function or directly to the presenter.

A link will be sent in the week before each Inspire Lecture so you can register through Eventbrite.

Following registration, another link will be sent which you can click on to take you to the Inspire Lecture.

Enjoy.

All lectures are on a Friday and begin at 3:45 pm. An invitation will be sent in advance of each lecture.

Throughout the term, a time will be set each week for boys at Desborough and Radley to work online in collaboration on their own Inspire Project.

The Inspire Project can be on any topic. Presented in any form. Be of any length.

The Inspire Project should demonstrate a passion, collaboration and an ability to communicate your thoughts and ideas.

You can ask your teachers for advice on your Inspire Project, but the aim is for the project to be independent between you and your group.

Good luck.
