Mientras lee estas palabras, es posible que se encuentre a bordo de uno de los aviones que Air Europa ha incorporado a su flota en los últimos meses. Siguiendo nuestro plan de expansión, hemos sumado nuevas aeronaves con las que responder a un constante incremento de la demanda. Contamos ya con más de 50 unidades de las que casi la mitad son Boeing 787 Dreamliner, nuestra seña distintiva como símbolo de calidad y eficiencia. A lo largo de este 2024 incorporaremos otros cinco más, con los que estaremos más que preparados para afrontar con total seguridad y eficacia nuevas puntas de demanda.

Este aumento del número de aeronaves es una muestra de que lo que vivimos en los meses anteriores no fue casualidad. Cerramos 2023 con un ejercicio histórico para la compañía, con un resultado EBITDA de cerca de 200 millones de euros, y transitamos por el primer trimestre del año con la perspectiva no sólo de que registre cifras récord, sino de que el ejercicio vuelva a ser el mejor de nuestra historia. Debemos agradecerlo al esfuerzo de todas las personas que forman parte de Air Europa, así como a la fidelidad de los usuarios que, como usted, eligen volar con nosotros. Por ello, muchísimas gracias.

Este año, además, seguirán haciéndose realidad algunos de los sueños que hemos perseguido para consolidar nuestra aerolínea como estratégica en la conectividad entre Europa y América. Uno de ellos lo presentamos en enero y estará operativo en breve: el nuevo hangar de mantenimiento de Globalia en el aeropuerto de Madrid-Barajas. Se trata de un centro de excelencia en el que, tras una inversión de 31 millones de euros, podremos atender las unidades de nuestra flota utilizando los más avanzados sistemas y herramientas.

En el acto de presentación de este hangar, en el que también celebramos el cumplimiento de los planes para la entrega de nuevos Dreamliners, brindamos por el futuro junto a dos de nuestros socios estratégicos: Boeing, que es el fabricante en cuyos modelos confiamos, y AerCap, el mayor propietario de aviones comerciales del mundo. Seguimos unidos para volar hacia nuevos destinos. Estaremos encantados de que forme parte de este ilusionante viaje.

As you read these words, you may find yourself on board one of the aircraft that Air Europa has added to its fleet in recent months. In line with our expansion plan, we have incorporated new aircraft to keep pace with ever-increasing demand. Now, we have more than 50 units, almost half of which are Boeing 787 Dreamliners, our hallmark of quality and efficiency. Throughout 2024 we will be adding five more, ensuring that we are more than ready to meet new peaks in demand, both safely and efficiently.

This increase in the number of aircraft is proof that our experience over the last few months was no coincidence. We closed 2023 as a historic year for the company, with an EBITDA result of close to 200 million euros, and as we move through the first quarter of this year, it promises not only to be record-breaking, but also to be the best year in our history. We owe this to the hard work of everyone who is part of Air Europa, as well as to the loyalty of our customers who, like you, choose to fly with us. So, thank you very much.

This year, we are also set to continue making some of our dreams come true, namely those in pursuit of ensuring our airline is strategic in connecting Europe and America. One of these dreams was unveiled in January and will soon be up and running: Globalia’s new maintenance hangar at Madrid-Barajas airport. This centre of excellence, after an investment of 31 million euros, will enable us to service our fleet using the most advanced tools and systems.

At the launch of this hangar, where we also celebrated plans for the delivery of new Dreamliners, we toasted to the future with two of our strategic partners: Boeing, the manufacturer whose models we rely on, and AerCap, the world’s largest commercial aircraft owner. ENG There is a place for art in capital letters. Especially the kind created by Portuguese visual artist Joana Vasconcelos and now on display in the Plug-in exhibition scheduled by the MAAT museum in Lisbon. Known for her monumental sculptures and immersive installations, the exhibition highlights how this creative artist takes various everyday objects out of their comfort zone, giving a new take on the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement. Her work investigates the private and public spheres, popular crafts and high culture. Using generous doses of irony, Vasconcelos’ talent questions issues like the female condition or consumerism in today’s society by mixing together apparently disparate disciplines such as technology and contemporary arts in her pieces.

The Spiral es el rascacielos del arquitecto Bjarke Ingels que está dando una vuelta de tuerca al barrio Hudson Yards, en Manhattan. El edificio aporta una novedad en la construcción de la Gran Manzana: los espacios verdes en altura. De forma escalonada, mientras el coloso se alza, aparecen terrazas contemporáneas que escalonan su fachada. Son lugares para la naturaleza y vivir la ciudad al aire libre que culminan en una gran azotea que funciona como un mirador verde, una tendencia arquitectónica postpandémica que no tiene vuelta atrás. Casi iguala en altura al famoso edificio Chrysler.

ENG Standing 317 metres high with 66 floors, it provides 265,000 m² for homes and offices. New York has a a brand new symbol. The Spiral is a skyscraper by architect Bjarke Ingels and it’s giving a new twist to the Hudson Yards neighbourhood in Manhattan. The building brings a novelty in construction methods across the Big Apple by featuring green spaces at height. As the colossus rises, it incorporates staggered contemporary terraces along the façade. These places for nature and outdoor city living culminate in a huge rooftop area that functions as a green lookout, a postpandemic architectural trend that’s here to stay. It’s almost the same height as the famous Chrysler building.

Son tres, cada uno con un estilo diferente, pero siempre pensaron que juntos podían triunfar. Carlos comenzó en Auryn, Paula se hizo un hueco publicando sus canciones en Instagram y Charly quiso probar fortuna en La voz, tanto en la versión infantil como en la de adultos. Empezaron tema a tema hasta completar Epicentro, su primer álbum que van a empezar a presentar ante el público. Antes han hecho una parada en el Benidorm Fest para intentar representar a España en Eurovisión. Aunque fueron los ganadores del público en su semifinal, la decisión del jurado los apeó de la competición. Y lejos de sentirse derrotados, saben que esta ha sido una oportunidad de oro para dar a conocer su música.

¿Cuándo se creó Mantra y por qué ese nombre?

Mantra nace en 2020 a través de redes sociales y elegimos ese nombre porque queríamos que nuestras canciones fuesen un mantra para la gente, que las hagan suyas y les lleven a lugares especiales. >

Cada uno tiene su estilo. ¿Cómo llegan a ese punto de encuentro donde los tres se encuentran cómodos?

Lo que hace especial a Mantra son las voces, las armonías y la combinación de estas y ahí es donde estamos en sintonía.

Han sido uno de los grupos participantes en el Benidorm Fest. Cuenten cómo surgió la idea de Me vas a ver, canción con la que han participado…

Me vas a ver es el final de un duelo amoroso, es cuando quieres que te vean porque ya te sientes a gusto contigo mismo. Nace como continuación de El proceso, un tema nuestro junto con Blas Cantó.

Este año ha habido una dura competencia por representar a España.

Se ha visto mucha variedad de estilos en Benidorm Fest, pero creemos que muy pocos lo tomamos como una competencia, sino más como una experiencia.

¿Qué habría supuesto para ustedes participar en un festival como Eurovisión?

Ir a Eurovisión es ir a la Champions de la música. Nos habría hecho muy felices, aunque nuestras miras están más en Latinoamérica que en Europa.

¿Cuáles son sus planes para los próximos meses?

Tener un verano lleno de conciertos, sacar nueva música y aprovechar toda la gente que se está uniendo a Mantra.

¿En qué invierten su tiempo a bordo del avión?

Algunos dormimos, sobre todo Charly [risas], Carlos es más de ver series, sobre todo La que se avecina, y Paula siempre lleva un libro encima.

ENG Each of them has a different style, but all three have always known that together they could make it big. Carlos started off in Auryn, Paula made a name for herself by posting her songs on Instagram and Charly wanted to try his luck in The Voice, both the kid’s and adult version. They began track by track until they’d completed Epicentro, their first album, which they’re just about to release. Before that, they made a stop at Benidorm Fest to have a go at representing Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest. Despite being the public's choice in their semi-final, the jury's decision ruled them out of the competition. But far from feeling defeated, they know that this has been a golden opportunity to get their music out there.

When was Mantra created and how did it get its name?

Mantra was born in 2020 through social media, and we chose that name because we wanted our songs to be a mantra for people, to make them their own and take them to special places.

Each of you has your own style, so how do you find that perfect spot where all three of you feel comfortable?

What makes Mantra special are the vocals, the harmonies, and the combination of these and that's where we’re in tune.

You were one of the bands playing at Benidorm Fest. Tell us how you came up with the idea of Mevas aver (You’ll beseeingme) the song you played there...

Me vas a ver is the end of a period of mourning for love when you want people to see you because you’re feeling comfortable with yourself again. It came about as a follow up to El proceso, a track we did together with Blas Cantó.

This year has seen some tough competition to represent Spain.

There have been a lot of different styles at Benidorm Fest, but we don’t think that many of us see it as a competitionrather it’s more of an experience.

What would it have meant for you to take part in a festival like Eurovision?

Going to Eurovision is like going to the Champions League of music. We would have been delighted, although our sights are more on Latin America than on Europe.

What are your plans for the coming months?

To enjoy a summer full of concerts, to release new music and to make the most of all the people who are getting behind Mantra.

How do you spend your time on board a plane?

Some of us sleep, especially Charly [laughs], Carlos is more into watching series, especially La que se avecina, and Paula always has a book with her.

“UN LIBRO ES COMO UNA MÁQUINA DEL TIEMPO”

“A book is like a time machine”.

Hace un siglo, París se preparaba para celebrar los últimos Juegos organizados por el barón de Coubertin, el fundador del movimiento olímpico moderno, que coincidían en un tiempo en el que la ciudad era la cuna de la creación artística y en el que Máximo Huerta (Utiel, Valencia, 1971) ha situado su última novela París despertaba tarde. Para Huerta, escribir este gran relato es la forma de culminar su personal obsesión con los años veinte, “una década fascinante, deslumbrante, ingeniosa, insolente… Tenía muchas ganas de meterme en los talleres de los pintores, de sentarme en las terrazas de París, de volver a ver bailar sobre una mesa a Kiki de Montparnasse (en la foto), y la fortuna de escribir es que puedes hacerlo, porque un libro es como una máquina del tiempo”. Con esta obra, además, reivindica a esas “mujeres anónimas e invisibles, que se arriesgaron a ofrecerse como modelos para los pintores”, que vivieron, amaron y lucharon por salir adelante en una época convulsa.

The Recoleta Cultural Centre: a state-of-the-art laboratory

This Parisian-inspired street —unknown to many— is home to shops selling home decor, art and fashion. Tango shoe designers work alongside painters, sculptors and photographers. “It’s a refuge for creators and for those who appreciate the devoted and quiet work of the trades”, explains Barbara Bertone, who runs the Bb.ID interior design showroom. Each shop has its own opening hours, but it’s worth a visit at any time just to peek into the shop windows.

The Patio del Liceo: an underground revolution

In this labyrinth of stairs, courtyards and shops, you’ll find a mix of jewellers, illustrators, luthiers, bookbinders and the wine shop of Martín Bruno, voted Argentina’s best sommelier in 2017. This community of local independent designers and entrepreneurs “is like a beehive”, says Luli Katz, who specialises in watercolour portraits of pets. In spring/summer, the bars are crowded until the early hours of the morning.

Invernadero Bar: where gin is served on tap

Opened in 2019, this is the first bar to serve gin and tonics straight from the tap. Air Europa celebra la llegada de sus nuevos Dreamliners y muestra su centro de excelencia técnica

Air Europa celebrates the arrival of its new Dreamliners and showcases its centre of technical excellence

Air Europa celebró la continuidad de las entregas de las aeronaves previstas en su Plan Estratégico y mostró, por primera vez, el que desde marzo será el nuevo hangar de mantenimiento de Globalia en el aeropuerto de Madrid-Barajas. Se trata de un centro de excelencia técnica para la aerolínea en el que se han invertido más de 30 millones de euros.

La doble presentación estuvo encabezada por el presidente de Globalia y fundador de Air Europa, Juan José Hidalgo, y por el CEO de la compañía, Jesús Nuño de la Rosa. También contó con la asistencia de Sergio Ramos, Commercial Sales Director Europe & Israel de The Boeing Company, Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer de AerCap, y Javier Marín, vicepresidente ejecutivo de AENA.

El nuevo hangar, de 140 metros de longitud y 23 metros de altura interior en un espacio totalmente diáfano, tiene capacidad para alojar hasta tres aviones de fuselaje ancho, como el Dreamliner, o hasta seis de fuselaje estrecho, como el 737. En total, ocupa un área de más de 22.400 m2 y una superficie destinada a tareas de mantenimiento de 11.130 m2. En estas instalaciones trabajarán este año 115 profesionales, si bien la plantilla se incrementará de manera gradual hasta alcanzar las 180 personas de mano de obra directa en 2025.

El otro gran protagonista de la jornada fue una de las dos unidades de Boeing 787 Dreamliner que se incorporaron a la flota el pasado diciembre y que preceden a las que se sumarán a lo largo de 2024 con el objetivo de reforzar la capacidad total de la aerolínea y continuar aumentando la oferta de rutas y frecuencias prevista para este año.

Air Europa has hailed the ongoing aircraft deliveries as scheduled in its Strategic Plan, and showcased, for the first time, the new Globalia maintenance hangar at Madrid-Barajas airport, open as of March. More than 30 million euros have been invested in this centre of technical excellence.

The double presentation was led by the chairman of Globalia and founder of Air Europa, Juan José Hidalgo, and the company's CEO, Jesús Nuño de la Rosa. Also in attendance were Sergio Ramos, Commercial Sales Director Europe & Israel of The Boeing Company, Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap, and Javier Marín, Executive Vice President of AENA.

The new hangar, 140 metres long and 23 metres high inside in a completely open-plan space, can accommodate up to three wide-body aircraft, such as the Dreamliner, or up to six narrow-body aircraft, such as the 737. In total, it occupies an area of more than 22,400 square metres and a maintenance area of 11,130 square metres. This year, 115 professionals will be working at the facility, although the workforce will gradually increase to 180 direct employees by 2025.

The other star of the day was one of the two Boeing 787 Dreamliners that joined the fleet last December, ahead of those due to be added in 2024 to reinforce the airline's total capacity and continue to increase the number of routes and flights planned for this year.

La aerolínea bautiza uno de sus aviones con el nombre del cantante puertorriqueño.

Air Europa, línea aérea oficial de la gira del artista y compositor puertorriqueño Luis Fonsi, se ha sumado a la celebración de sus 25 años de trayectoria musical y le ha homenajeado bautizando con su nombre uno de los aviones de su flota Dreamliner.

El avión lleva consigo la esencia del cantante ya que, además del propio nombre, también se le ha añadido la emblemática frase Yo quiero un mundo contigo, perteneciente a la canción Yo no me doy por vencido, uno de sus grandes éxitos.

En el acto de presentación del nuevo Dreamliner, celebrado en el marco de FITUR, además del equipo del compositor, estuvieron presentes el director de Marketing, Producto y Cliente de Air Europa, Rafael Brull, y el jefe de Acuerdos y Patrocinios de la aerolínea, Sebastián Lladó, a quienes Luis Fonsi mostró su agradecimiento.

El avión con el nombre del cantante cubre ya las distintas rutas transoceánicas de la aerolínea. Se trata de un Boeing 787-8, con matrícula MNS y capacidad para 296 pasajeros. La aeronave, principal referencia de Air Europa, consume un 20% menos de carburante que otros aviones similares, lo que permite reducir otro 20% sus emisiones. El diseño del fuselaje y de sus motores contribuye a rebajar en un 60% el impacto acústico, al tiempo que es capaz de acortar los trayectos hasta en 40 minutos.

The aircraft also embodies the spirit of the artist as, in addition to the name itself, the iconic phrase Yo quiero un mundo contigo (I want a world with you), from the song Yo no me doy por vencido, one of his greatest hits, has also been added to the plane.

At the presentation of the new Dreamliner, which took place as part of FITUR, in addition to the artist's team, Air Europa's Marketing, Product and Customer Director, Rafael Brull, and the airline's Head of Agreements and Sponsorship, Sebastián Lladó, were also in attendance, with Luis Fonsi expressing his gratitude to both.

The aircraft bearing the singer's name is already flying on the airline's various transoceanic routes - a Boeing 787-8, with MNS registration and a capacity for 296 passengers. The plane, Air Europa's benchmark model, uses 20% less fuel than other similar aircraft, reducing emissions by a further 20%. Throughout the tourism fair, the Air Europa stand was the venue for numerous business meetings and presentations, such as the renewal of the agreement reached with Panama for the promotion of the Central American country in Europe. Many well-known faces from the world of television, music, entertainment, and culture, among other fields, also attended the event.

FlightPath3D is the flight map Air Europa has incorporated into the entertainment systems on its B-787s. It is the most advanced map and shows realistic and detailed representations of the aircraft you are flying in on a 3D terrestrial background with the details of your route. It is interactive and you can navigate in it to investigate data on your flight.

Los teléfonos móviles pueden ser usados durante el rodaje antes del despegue y después del aterrizaje. Desde el despegue del avión y durante el vuelo, todos los dispositivos electrónicos deben ser usados en Modo Avión. Mobile phones may be used during taxiing before take-off and after landing.From take-off and during the flight, all electronic devices must be switched to Flight Mode.

ROTACIÓN DE HOMBROS

Con la espalda en el asiento, gira los hombros con suavidad adelante, arriba, atrás y abajo, 10 veces en cada dirección. SHOULDER ROTATION. With your back against the seat, turn your shoulders gently forwards, up, back and down, 10 times in each direction.

LEVANTAMIENTO DE RODILLAS

Sube una pierna a media altura con la rodilla flexionada y el muslo contraído. Bájala. Repite 10 veces con cada pierna. KNEE LIFTS. Lift one leg halfway up with the knee bent and the thigh contracted. Lower it. Repeat 10 times with each leg.

CÍRCULOS DE TOBILLO
